I would estimate 10+ . The hosts are very friendly, they are always ready to help if you have any questions or difficulties. The the apartments´payment includes costs for the culture parks visits, which is very cheap as compared to the tickets bought directly at the parks. The rest is perfect for families with children and dogs. I am planning to come here on winter season with my family. Respekt zur bayerische Leuten :)

We arrived at apartment number 5205 in Haus 5 of the larger 8-house complex which forms Am Predigstuhl Ort (Resort). As it was off-season and wintertime, most of the activities in the resort itself were closed and unavailable. Although the heated swimming pool is usually open in winter, we had the bad luck to arrive during the period it was closed for deep cleaning. The apartment had a balcony with a spectacular view and comfortable couch. The wifi was quick and easy to use. The TV had free unlimited access to YouTube as well as paid access to other streaming services. The one king-size bed and one day-bed were perfect for our needs, super comfortable and cosy. Practical and good quality self-catering facilities, including pots, pans and cutlery, were available to use. The small fridge worked very well. There were good laundry facilities at the resort, with a coin-operated system. The large windows boast views over the resort’s outdoor play area, and the valley below. I really felt close to nature there. The charming village of Sankt Englmar, just below the resort, nestles against a steep slope and features a friendly bakery, petrol station, supermarket and ski/sled hire shop. A beginner slope and conveyor belt lift (for sledding) - the rodelbahn at Fun Park Kur Park- was available nearby (in Glashüter Straße) with a lookout area for spectators, that we enjoyed thoroughly more than once.

Sankt Englmar area was a lot of fun for hiking.
Sankt Englmar area was a lot of fun for hiking. There were many trails and routes to choose from. It is hilly country, but with spectacular views, wonderful scenery and friendly residents along the way (i.e. farmers). The village itself is very tiny with only one grocery store, one pharmacy and a handful of restaurants, baker and butcher. Opening hours are limited to those that are normal to life in a little village (i.e., no 7-22 h and limited Saturday hours).

Sankt Englmar is small, and if you are looking for a busy place with lots to do at night, go somewhere else. But for its size it has a lot to offer, some nice restaurants and especially cafes, a good supermarket (Edeka), a great baker's with cakes, a church, and the Kurpark is great, with Kneipp bath, an outdoor swimming pond, and other things. There are many walks around which are easy to follow using the guide which you can get for free with the Erlebniskarte, which is great value. We like eating in Buglhof, as it is closest to Romantik Apartments, but the restaurant in the square is good too. This time we visited the WaldWipfelWeg, which is certainly worth a visit and we have been to the Xperium before, which is also great. The place is very peaceful and they have done a lot to make it a good place to visit, so enjoy.
The breakfasts were just great, with a very friendly "full service" of the owner in person. Accommodation is very comfortable, in the middle of the nature, with the access to the near small town (3 km), where you can find also restaurants and shops. The owner is really nice and friendly, always willing to help. The hotel is a member of "Active Card Program", this makes it very useful for families with kids. We plan to come back soon! :-)
Hotel left us out in the cold and did not answer the phone to check in. No one was there when we arrived and no one answered the phone even though we called many times. We ended up having to find another hotel to stay the night. We drove hours to get there and were left out in the cold. I would advise anyone not to book this hotel!!!! They have better not charged my credit card. I will see when I get back to the USA.
The appartment had everything you need for your stay. We particularly liked the spacious balcony with the nice view to the green valley. The appartment belongs to a bigger complex of apartments with many common facilities for the families such as sports Centre and swimming pool with sauna. The location is very handy as it’s in the middle of many parks, climbing forest and other amenities in St. Englmar.
The room was not available until 5pm. We chose an apartment since we planned to cook our own food and obviously we could not do so the first day, so we incurred in unexpected costs. The restaurant was only available for the guests staying in the hotel, not the appartments, which complicated things greatly, mire with 2 small kids.
the beds had crappy mattresses.
I liked the location very much. Predigtstuhl is at the centre of several trailheads to various parts of the Bavarian Forest. A good starting point for hikes. I also saw people mountain biking in the area as well. During the winter, one can rent skis for both downhill and Nordic types of skiing.
We had Half Pension, enjoyed both Breakfast and Dinner. Staff was very friendly. Our apt was large. Owner cleared the lot of snow daily. I parked my car in a garage. Hotel is newly decorated, very well done. Will return. City park very close with good trails.
Amazing little hotel! What a surprise… the owner is the nicest person we ever met. Rooms are renovated and super clean. For the kids there is a little sandbox and some other surprise. Location is beautiful. We will definitely come back!
The view is simply stunning. Superb evening food and great entertainment supplied by a local band. Room was clean, spacious and functional. Good breakfast.
