Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. Location is excellent. The view from the breakfast room is spectacular. Also, there's a room on the first floor where you can relax which has the same amazing view as the breakfast room. Breakfast was decent. Bed was fairly comfortable. The hotel has lots of character. I've stayed here in the past and liked it enough to return. I find it relaxing. Didn't have time to use the indoor swimming pool this time, but enjoyed it last time. We liked that there was a wash salon right next door so we could do our laundry and there are lots of good restaurants close by.
This centrally located hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Berchtesgaden Train Station. Each room has a balcony offering stunning views of the surrounding Berchtesgaden Alps.

Bertchesgaden is just beautiful.
Bertchesgaden is just beautiful. There is so much to see and do. The Eagles Nest and Lake Konigssee were just spectacular. Public transport links are amazing and not too tricky to navigate. Hospitality in the area is fantastic, too. We will most definitely be returning.

So beautiful.
So beautiful. We go every year and always discover something new, be it a new walk or restaurant. Never get bored of the beauty and atmosphere. It is so easy to get around using the free bus transport with the Gästekarte. Nothing to avoid. All wonderful. Especially stunning this time of year with the Christmas market. Easy to visit Salzburg by bus or train too. Recommend visit to Bad Reichenhall too.

We visited Eagles nest.
We visited Eagles nest. Because the weather was misty, there was no five-star experience.
because the return bus service you must book for concretely time then we had much more time on top of the hill than we need it, but opposite was very instructive visit Naci’s museum close to the lower bus base.

Small town with good infrastructure in the center of a paradise.
Infinite hiking options.
Can manage with public transportation (bus) but it could significantly improve service for tourists - e.g. higher frequency in peak hours.

This place is like a fairy land.
This place is like a fairy land. Peaceful, scenic, and easy to reach by train. Our stay was clouded by the weather, but it did not deduct any beauty of this place. Wish we could understand German, which will make our visit of Salt Mine or boat ride more joyful.
Traditional Bavarian style in a great location. They were not too busy, so they upgraded (at no extra charge) to a room with a nice balcony and a perfect view of the valley and the snow covered mountains. There are a few restaurants nearby (don't go to the Greek restaurant across the street from the hotel. It is horrible). Hotel breakfast was formidable with a host who showed passion and pride in what he was doing. A great place to stay, and a great place to start a new day on our journey across the Alps.
This was one of the best hotels we stayed in during our 3 weeks of travel. The rooms were a good size & the bathroom also. They also have numerous little extra amenities along with the soap they leave for you. There was a small patio. They have wonderful breakfasts and consider many country's eating habits on their menu. They have a wonderful outdoor covered seating area, but we weren't able to sit there because it was raining the 2 days we were there, but it is an excellent place to stay!
upon arrival to Hotel Bavaria we found that the hotel closed the week before. we just made our payment, in full, the week before yet it was closed. VERY unprofessional and I would highly NOT recommend this hotel. Booking.com will not process a refund for 7-12 days but they were more than eager to take our payment when the hotel was actually closed. So this recommendation is a zero for Hotel Bavaria and a zero for Booking.com.
The hotel is located in a very beautiful location, there is a lot of parking space and is a perfect location if you come with car. You can reach Berchtesgaden walking in 30 minutes or by car. If you return in the hotel back in the night by walking, be careful that the street is not illuminated. The room was very big, I got a 5 person room and I was just alone. Hairdryer is in the room and this is a big plus.
Hotel is very nice and clean. Room has many clever details which made our stay with kids very cool (equipped kitchen which you can close as a cubboard so kids can't access drawers, toilet and bathroom are separated rooms, big shower, two sinks, two bathroom heaters, extra wastebin for diapers - you can't imagine how parents appreciate these things).
The hotel is situated very conveniently in the middle of Berchtesgaden, it's easy to get around by foot or park your own car near the hotel for free. Rooms are set up in Alpen style, breakfasts are super tasty with many options. Also, the looks from the window and dining room are unique. The staff and hotel owners are great and very helpful people.
Great location in the heart of town and just a 5 min walk to the numerous restaurants and shops in the historic district. The staff was friendly and our room was ready when we arrived. The room was clean and spacious, but quite outdated with old furnishings and features. The location is the best thing about this hotel.
I was extremely happy with my stay. I did not expect the fine level of accommodation for the price. The staff was fluent in English and very helpful. The location was perfect for me traveling by bicycle, close to the town but very quiet. The breakfast was outstanding, and I will definitely return to this hotel.
Very nice and spacious ground floor apartment! The owners were very friendly. Great place to stay and to explore the mountains and cities in the surroundings. Although there is a bus connection to Berchtesgaden, I would recommend coming by car (since this gives more flexibility).
The views at the Salzbergalm exceeded our expectations, with great views of the mountains and into the valley with Berchtesgaden town. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and the amenities like the sauna and hot tub were amazing!
This was the first place we stayed after arriving in Germany. Birgit and her staff were very helpful, patient, and informative. We loved the smaller, cozier atmosphere to better acquaint ourselves with the language, area, and culture.
Location of the Hotel is very nice, but parking facilities is not good they have there hotel garage but we need pay for that, It is not included in the booking. And staff is not so friendly and breakfast is not so good as excepted.
Good size room with private balcony offering a great view of mountains. The hotel is way out of town but offers dinner as well as breakfast. The food was v. good and the staff friendly and attentive. Good walks nearby.
Nice hotel in Berchtesgaden
Rooms are big enough. We had two rooms with mountain view and tiny balconies. We were on foot so no ideas about parking situation.
Facilities are a bit dated but worked out ok for me.
The hotel is newly renovated, all facilities are good n great condition. The complimentary breakfast is amazing. Highly recommended for anyone who is exploring the Berchtesgaden area
