This a very touristic place. I was there 2 times, both in low season. In November the town is almost dead - no tourists, so, it is difficult to find a place to eat, but if you know where, it is a nice time to visit. The prices goes lower, beautiful beaches, nice hotels with spa. Highly recommend to visit in October-November.

An area that seems more British than Greek and sadly mostly closed up at the beginning of November apart from the pubs. The beaches are good with great swimming and snorkelling but extremely busy. Restaurants were generally disappointing although search hard and there are a few hidden taverns and coffee shops. Most buildings are concrete (not stone as in the villages, new build type), roads and transport links are good.

Great place for families or 30+ people.
Great place for families or 30+ people. It has plenty of good bars and restaurants but no under 30 craziness. You can get a drink at 2am but without any idiots. Never saw a drunk or out of control group in my 4 weeks there. If you want crazy go to Ayia Napa.
You want fun, friendly, beaches and a good evening life, go to Protaras.

Fantastic place, lots of bars, restaurants, good food, lively bars and some slightly quieter. Sports on at some of the bars for football etc. Some tribute acts (although not my thing) Elvis, Cher, Meatloaf etc etc etc.
Jokers square had a live band on most nights playing rock music, great bar, great food also and a friendly welcome.
Cheers bar brilliant for drinks and breakfasts, owner very friendly and great staff, inside area (you'll need it during the hot days) and an outside area for evening with live entertainments on some times.
Lots of other bars we enjoyed but cannot remember the names sorry.
There is a small bar on the beach that serves drinks in real melon and pineapple shells called the rising beach bar which is brilliant for a drink after a day at the beach.
Also a place called Zorbas which does great food and drinks, well worth a visit (near Fig Tree Bay-ish)
The whole area from end-to-end is about 1 mile walk (maybe less) so no need for transport really, however taxis are very expensive if you need to use them (sore knee so we used them a few times) circa 10 euros for what was about a 1 mile journey!
You can jump on a bus to Ayia Napa if that's your thing, I don't know how much though, but they are quite frequent.
We loved the place, but we have been 7 times!!

During my visit, my favorite places were the beach and the main street. I dined at the restaurants located along the main street. Navigating around Protaras was very easy. As for my next visit, there's nothing I would specifically avoid.

The beaches are superb and clean and safe but there crowds of people and in the evenings it can be noisy due to bars and restaurants in the central strip and the area is very commercialised, especially compared to how it used to be even 20 years ago.
We liked everything! the location is 2 minute walk to Fig Tree Bay; the apartment is very quiet, no traffic or noise; it is fully equipped, very clean with all necessities.. the host Xristala is very friendly and generous; we had a welcoming bottle of wine and snacks; super clean sheets and towels… Parking is also available.. there is a supermarket downstairs, and a taverna (we didn’t try)
The host also had created a small booklet with recommendations for restaurants and diners in Protaras..
Great place, we will definitely come back!
We really enjoyed our holiday at this hotel. Very clean, staff are great, very good variety of food is and we were well served from everyone. We were on all inclusive and we ate and drink as much as we wanted, we also ate pizzas, burgers, nuggets, chips and ice cream between meals. The bar at the reception area will served us till midnight with a smile, and they offer the best cocktails ever (grass hopper cocktail is the best 😉) the bar tenders are great and very friendly. Location is very good too. Highly recommended!!!
Freshly renovated, very clean. Nice staff. Great size room, felt really fresh and spacious. Get the sea view! Absolutely brilliant beach / coves near to Konnos beach, far enough away to not be busy. Just look slightly east on the map from Konnos. Location was perfect for us, nice distance away from Protaras town, which is too much of a party town for us. great cliff top bar at the Grecian park hotel, 10cm in walk away. good beach bar at Konnos too for sandwiches and drinks. We had a great massage at the spa.
The hotel is stunning and the facilities are excellent. Its location within Fig Tree Bay is perfect and only a 3 minute walk to the beach.
The staff are amazing and so attentive and the manager and another member of staff remembered us from our last stay which was a nice touch.
The all inclusive drinks and food are excellent and the choice is fantastic that everyone is catered for.
My son was visiting from the UK so I wanted to “show off” Cyprus and this was the perfect location to do it from.
Good hotel, with very nice pool area, especially the grass part, with lots of beds. The beach is very nice, especially the one within 6 minutes of walking distance. The area is quiet, but there are not many shops or restaurants, for that you need to walk to the centre, about 15 minutes. Food is allright, with the all inclusive option value for money is quite good, cocktails are included. Opt for the all inclusive.
Good points:
- Friendly staff at reception and restaurant! Especially Dely - of the the waiters at the restaurant. He was very polite and smiley!
- Beachfront - hotel is right on the beach, one of the best beaches in Cyprus!
- Pool wasn't too busy - perhaps because a lot of guests prefer the beach or because there weren't enough sunbeds by the pool
Hotel looked nice from outside. Right on the beach. Pool area was nice but sunlounger mattresses left outside ND dirty and mouldy. 1 nice Indian man in reception. Couldn't do enough for u. Adele the receptionist at the spa was very friendly ND helpful. Room was a good size. Shower powerful
Without doubt one of the best hotels in Cyprus. The hotel is new and very clean. It is in a quiet location but close to places of entertainment: 5 minutes by car to the Protaras promenade and 15 minutes to the center of Ayia Napa. The staff was extremely friendly, professional and helpful.
The location of the apartment is excellent. Very close to the Cyprus most beautiful beach, Fig Tree, and additionally, in front of the apartment is very nice beach where you can swim in crystal clear water.
Everyday cleaning of the apartment by the staff was very nice touch, appreciated.
Amazing stuff in every area of the hotel! Just warm and nice people! Food was delicious, room constantly clean and fresh! All inclusive will never leave you hungry and thirsty during the day! Huge territory with amazing facilities! Quite area with small amount of people on the beach.
It's a wonderful hotel, right on the best beach of Cyprus! The room was excellent, with lots of storage space, comfortable beds and pillows, all the staff was excellent, including the wonderful guys at the beach bar, the breakfast was also very good. We loved everything about it!
Anastasia Beach Hotel offers great beach access, a fantastic waterpark for kids, and a prime location within walking distance of Protaras' coastal pedestrian road with its vibrant cafes and bars. Ideal for families seeking quality time together.
Stupendous choice in Protaras. Great hospitality. Our room 318 was one of the best i've stayed in Cyprus. Excellent customer service from the staff, especially mr. Tryfonas was very helpful and friendly to us. I highly recommend it.
The best hotel I've ever been to date. The location is amazing, just a few meters from a great beach. The hotel is very modern and so are the rooms. Everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was great every day.
The hotel is beautiful. The location is perfect right on the beach and just 5mins walk from the centre of Protaras.
The food was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back.
Our expiriance was very beautiful in Cyprus. Apartment was very clean and we have everything. Starting by kitchen tools, towels, coffee machine... Everything by agency was okay.
