A good location in downtown Turrialba. The staff were helpful and friendly and we made use of the outdoor common areas - a backyard garden and a rooftop deck. We liked the clean kitchen. The property is somewhat idiosyncratic, about half-way between a hotel and a hostel. I think they were transitioning to a hotel during our visit. We, a couple, had a dorm room with two bunk beds and a private bath across the hall; a bit unusual but the facilities were fine.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Only breakfast on site but they ordered and picked up dinner food at a local restaurant for us. 30 min drive from Guayabo national monument. Great view from our deck, saw a keel billed toucan from the deck in the morning.

What a gorgeous location with views of the mountains and the town below! The owner/hostess, Mili, led us on a hike to the 3 waterfalls on the property (all swimmable!) the first day then we returned on our own on subsequent days (well marked). This was a wonderful find of a small casa with such accommodating staff! The breakfasts were perfect-filling, homemade, and lots of fresh fruit and juice. Mili provided many restaurant recommendations that were great. There is an adventure tour company on-site, as well, Explortura (or similar name), with great adventure options. our family rafting trip was 👍! They offer canyoning, zip lining, etc on the property. A great experience and value for our money!!

Beautiful and comfortable old hacienda with much character. Our family spent much time enjoying the garden and grounds that have a lovely vegetable and herb garden, ornamental plants, some ancient native trees, and many birds.
Excellent coffee, excellent food, and wonderful service from the host and cook staff. The staff at the Hacienda accommodated our vegetarian dietary request for dinner, and I believe they went out of their way to buy additional local produce for our dinner.
We selected Hacienda La Esperanza in part for its affiliation with the Aquiares Coffee Farm, the largest coffee farm in Costa Rica. The Hacienda is on a ridge with views of the hillside coffee farm and quaint company town. The Aquiares Coffee Farm tour, booked separately, was informative and enjoyable.
