The continental breakfast was more than adequate, with a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, jams, honey, choice of different breads. Good breakfast teas, coffees etc. fruit juices, mineral water etc.
Mine host, Roland Hofstetter, speaks good English and is very helpful and nothing seems too much trouble for him.

There are great medium and easy slopes and tons of dining options for the small area. The walk around the lake was beautiful, we loved our stay at Hotel Sonne, and the ski rental was very easy. We had delicious Thai food in Weesen and great drinks on the mountain.MayaGermany - 8.0Scored 8.0

As a village Amden itself does not have a center where there are usually shops, restaurants. The main street leads to the lake or further up to the mountains. There are though many hiking paths and ski slopes nearby.EnzaukerSwitzerland - 10Scored 10
I love Amden!
I love Amden! I pretty much go there many weekends since it's so close to Zürich and easy to get to. There's tons to do here - hiking trails such as Leistchamm / Mattstock, awesome restaurants such as Holzstübli with their yummy chäshörnli, lovely locals, etc. Tons of scenic Swiss countryside and moo moo cows everywhere.

Super clean, very comfortable, and you could find here everything you could possibly need, even binoculars which was surprising and lovely! But most importantly - THE VIEW!!!!! that was literally insane. It is definitely the best apartment for views in Amden, you get the whole scenery. And also, Swiss people are so nice and helpful, we loved our vacation in this country. We will visit this place next year as well and for sure choose this apartment again. 100/100 ❤️AliSlovakia

Although we did not meet the owners they were very friendly and gave us all the information we needed prior to arrival. Restaurant and cafe a short walk away (with nice food and amazing staff). Nature just around the corner! The locals of Amden were very friendly and welcoming. Everything we need for a week hiking and climbing in the Swiss Alps. I would book again in a second.

The room is simple but for us it was everything we needed and the price for it is very fair. The beds are very comfortable which was important to us, especially if you spend all day hiking. The indian food is very authentic and the hosts take care of their guests. The hotel offers free parking and there are many parking lots right next to the hotel so it was always easy to find one.

Also the kitchen is well equipped. But what is extraordinary is a view from a balcony. We spent all our evenings there with a bottle of wine and enjoed it... It was foggy and raining for our complete stay, but that is not the fault of the hotel. I can imagine with good weather that it muat be great. The pizza was really good in the restaurant. The staff tried their best to accommodate us even though they struggled with english they still helped as much as possible.

Its perfect to host 8 people and the public bus stop "Soldenella" is right outside the apartment. I highly recommend it to explore the Amden Weesen Walensee region (hikes, walks and boat cruise on the lake).
