This hotel was absolutely amazing - everything about it. I will tell everyone I meet going to Uyuni to stay here. The owner and his family run the hotel and are incredibly nice and kind. We got in late and they ordered pizzas for delivery for us since most restaurants were close to closing. The breakfast is great and you can order eggs to your liking, along with an assortment of other offerings. The hotel is absolutely fantastic - one of the nicest that we've stayed in in South America (hot water & great water pressure). They could really charge more than they do and it'd still be 100% worth it. We had early morning and late night tours and they gave us a key to the main hotel door so we would have to wake them coming in and out.

Colchani is best for upscale lodgings for visiting the Salar...
Colchani is best for upscale lodgings for visiting the Salar. The only recommended places to eat are at the hotels. But make sure you bring all you need from Uyuni before you stay at Colchani. But souvenirs and beautiful wool clothing you can get at the market in Colchani.

Hotels in Colchani are the best location if your target is...
Hotels in Colchani are the best location if your target is to visit the Salar de Uyuni. It is right at its limit. And it has local souvenirs, wool clothing on the local market. But It has no grosery stores nor drug stores so you will depend entirely on the hotel or transportation into Uyuni to stack up. And the bus station is at Uyuni.

This little town is the entrance to the Salar.
This little town is the entrance to the Salar. We stayed at the Salt Palace for one night after our 3 day tour of the salt flats. Really nice place to stay and we were glad we stayed there at the end of our tour. The town of Colchani is small and remote and is typically where people stay at the beginning or the end of their salt flats tour.
This is a classy hotel and it's beautiful. The rooms are comfortable, the food is great; the sunsets are amazing. Javier is THE BEST guide, ever; hands-down!! He took us on our nightly sky gazing tour plus the salt flat tour. We had so much fun and he was suggesting pictures and videos; we had a blast! Anna, who works at the spa, is an amazingly talented young lady and super sweet. The spa is fabulous with a sauna, jacuzzi and you can get massages, which are FANTASTIC! The hotel is made completely of salt!!
Beautiful hotel with tons of character and rich detail. The look and feel of the restaurant each morning for breakfast is inviting and warm. The music just adds to the ambiance. In the afternoon, there are plenty of fireplaces to sit by and relax and stay warm, either with a book or cold drink from the bar. Some of the best times I remember at the hotel were spent next to a fireplace spending some quiet solitude.
The location was great, it only took us about 20-30mins to walk to the salt flat which you can see from anywhere in the hotel. I absolutely loved all of the little dens with the fires. Food was good with a nice selection buffet. Our driver to and from the hotel was amazing. When our train was cancelled he stayed and helped flag down a coach for us.
Beautiful property and super well decorated. They let you hang out around the property if you arrive before check in, and they have a bunch of lounge areas with beautiful views. Restaurant and spa are great too, although much more expensive compared to the rest of the prices we saw in Bolivia (but still comparable/cheaper than US standards).
Great hotel super close to the salt flats! You can cycle right out to them, worth noting you need to do a salt flats tour as well though so you can go further out! Lovely having a spa on site to relax and have a massage. Was fairly expensive for room size but lots of places to relax around the hotel so didn’t matter too much.
The whole place was amazing! Its very clean, and the buffet is really good. The staff is great, you get an amazing view, and your in the middle of the salt flat! Definitley recommending you stay a few days here. I saw vicuñas from my window a few times. At the end of the day you can enjoy the spa
Beautiful hotel with really nice staff. Had a lot of toiletries, especially for Bolivia. They gave us some free chocolate samples and offered hot drinks at lobby in the afternoon. Also just awesome views. I personally liked the heavy blankets but I don't think it's for everyone.
Location is magnificent. We upgraded the room and had a one.in a.million view on the Salar de Uyuni. Staff very helpful amd suportive. Waitress Angela is a special kind of positive person.
Hotel was amazing in such a fantastic location. Breakfast was really good. We hired bikes from the hotel and cycled into the salt flats. We used the spa which was really lovely.
It was a terrible experience where which anything remotely nice was obliterated by all that went wrong.
I guess the pool is nice and it’s close to Uyuni.
