Westerway is a great little spot for a day's explore and Duffys Accomodation is a great point for a central travel hub. It's a great point to take a full day's drive to Derwent Bridge where you'll see 'The Wall in the Wilderness'. (That's 10/10) You'll see such beautiful forests along the way. You can also strike West and drive all the way to Strahan after your stay in Westerway. We elected to drive up through the Great Lake and Arthur Lake area (Desperately beautiful) on our way to Smithton in the North West ( We drove a Mazda 6 and all the roads were great in every direction.) Use Westerway and in particular Duffys Accomodation as your staging point for which ever direction you want to go.

relatively close (7 km) to the National Park and the walks there. Possum Shed cafe is fantastic place to go for coffee (2 km). Closed Mon, tues. Raspberry outlet is just round the corner. We pre-organised dinner at Hamlet Downs B and B in fentonbury, 4 km away. Otherwise there re limited options as the Hotel in National Park is not always open for dinner.

Westerway is just a little village with a nice cafe.
Westerway is just a little village with a nice cafe. I did not see a shop or garage. However the natives are friendly. One lady selling fresh free range eggs kindly threw in a lemon off her tree and a bunch of daffodils when we admired hers. The location cannot be bettered for the area if you are into natural attractions or activities, Car travel for the less able but cyclists and walkers have many areas to explore. Any direction is wonderful and Westerway is a cosy place to return to.

Excellent cafe close to property but late to open 10a.m).
Excellent cafe close to property but late to open 10a.m). Not much to see/do in village unless you have the luck and patience to spot the platypuses. It’s a good spot to overnight between Strahan and the east coast.

Really friendly hosts, Dean lit our fire for us and ANNIE came with beautiful fresh eggs.
They have three lovely dogs makes it feel like home and the apartment is huge. It was really warm, the bedding and linen is all good quality and there was bread and milk and cereal.
Plus two nice chocolates.
It is close to the Russell Falls and the National Park.
The main service town is New Norfolk which has everything you need.
We stayed in Berryfield's Cottage, it was so comfortable and surrounded by beautiful gardens, I would definitely stay again. It was lovely to wake up to the sounds of the birds in the garden, having breakfast on the verandah with the smell of country fresh air and walking around the lovely gardens in the morning. Everything about the accommodation was perfect, wish we had time for two nights there instead of one.
Had to move into the Bungalow, not the Riverside Cottage, but the Bungalow still suited our needs. We were left with a fully stocked kitchen with a huge array of breakfast choices - the fresh eggs were great. The location to Mount Field was perfect for us. Got to meet the owners' cute dogs. Also were there for raspberry season and the local raspberry farm down the road in Westerway - fresh berries are heavenly.
Comfortable cottage with plenty of internal space.
Great location for Mount Field National Park. Close enough to Gordon Dam.
Problem with double booking was easily resolved within minutes of booking. (Booked 2 nights on booking.com but were only able to have 1 night. Property offered the one night or free cancellation)
The cabin was quaint, set on a large plot of land with beautiful trees changing to autumn colours. We had a kitchen and more space than a motel or hotel. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. It was out of town, not as we expected but it was much like a farmstay. It was comfortable and nicely decorated.
If your looking to visit the Russell Falls/Mt Field National Park are then this is the perfect spot. A picturesque cottage and gardens which has it all including breakfast provisions. The kitchen is well kitted out so you can cook for yourself and the bedding/linens are all quality - highly recommended!
A truly remarkable location, the gardens are stunning. We stayed in a cabin that was well appointed, cooking facilities inside as well as a BBQ on the verandah. Westerway is so close to Mt Field that it is a great base to stay at and tour around the area.
