Great food and accomodations.
Great food and accomodations. The people were really friendly and helpful. I needed new tyres. The local tyre store did not stock them but had them in for me early the following day. At Armand was an absolute pleasure

The management went above and beyond in helping us during our stay. We were delayed by the floods in Victoria and they suggested places to visit and where to eat. They also continually updated us to the road closures and where we could get through. The motel was clean and comfortable. The bed was really cosy, plenty of hot water and great shower pressure.

St Arnaud is full of history and has quite alot of Mural Art around town. Not alot of accomodation only 1 caravan park that we came across and 3 motels plus pub accommodation etc but for a small town it's ok. Iga Supermarket, couple of take away shops, other shops to browse in also petrol stations and hospital. Railway station. Easy walk around town. Very friendly town. Has a Lovely park and lake. Lots of places to go out 4wd in the bush also. Further out of town is the Woolpac Hotel.

I am a lover of old architecture and Saint Arnaud has some of the best old buildings. Victoria grew thanks to the goldfields and the town has its share of anecdotes and important historical figures. The museum is spectacular and run by a motivated brilliant guide who is also part of the historical society. The gardens are very well looked after and the population is proud of their unique, pretty and clean town. The IGA supermarket is the best I have ever seen, modern and clean. Pity the Old Convent is closed to the public at present and the Bible Museum no longer exists. The Information Centre is great, well prepared with brochures and historical information and great volunteers. Not my first visit and hope not the last either.

St. Arnaud has a wonderful old streetscape in its main street with handsome buildings: old banks, hotels and shopfronts and an imposing and handsome refurbished town hall. The street is already looking good and is still being improved with new footpaths and landscaping. We gather the population of the town is growing. There is a variety of stores and facilities with very friendly staff which serve the town. It is refreshing to find a town where the main street is still "real" and not shop after shop catering to tourists as is too often the case. Unfortunately the museum was closed on the day of our visit but the many and varied building murals in town are open all hours. For an evening meal we strongly recommend the White Lotus restaurant at Motel St. Arnaud. Excellent Asian food and great value.
For a country town motel, it exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious. & the bed was very comfortable. There were also plenty of comfy spare pillows. Although there was no satellite tv, there were still heaps of digital tv options, like you tube etc. The bathroom was clean & tidy, & has pumps with shampoo, conditioner, shaving foam. shower gel, etc. Don't let the fact that you are on a truck highway deter you. I didn't even know they were passing by.
very clean and welcoming staff! location perfect for town strolls of art work. when we travelled it was very hot and the split system didn’t cool the bedrooms but we did manage a good sleep despite the heat. hotel across the road - great food and friendly service. kids loved the complimentary hot chocs in the morning for breaky- definitely stay again when travelling through!
We loved our stay in this small motel. It was like walking back in time with what appeared to be original 70's tiling, fitout and carpet. So yes, it is old, but fabulous, if you enjoy retro. Comfy bed, quiet room, right in the heart of town. If you stay the night, be sure to have dinner or a drink at the Royal Standard Hotel. A short walk down the road.
I've been staying here, as an overnight stay, every year on my way from Sydney to Robe. It' has always been excellent and this year was no exception. Very clean, comfortable and kept in good condition. Hard to find a good hotel like this in a small country town. Cute little pub with nice meal an easy stroll from the hotel.
This is a modest, but excellent motel. Everything was clean and worked well - good heating, beds, blankets and a wonderful hot shower. We went to dinner at the Royal Hotel on a Friday night. It was buzzing with a great country atmosphere and fantastic food. The experience was enjoyable - you couldn't ask for more.
Location on edge of town with hotel and bakery immediately opposite.
Small motel - 5 rooms.
Management contactable and responsive
Very Clean & comfortable.
Good sleep quality.
Well provisioned kitchenette.
Unit was spacious for 2 persons.
Wifi & air conditioner worked well.
Parking at the door.
A good sized room with everything expected of a motel in this region. Comfortable bed, great shower and quiet ( no neighbor noise, even though the adjoining rooms were booked). It's just 400m from the Farmers Arms Hotel which serves great (and large) meals.
A hidden Gem , safe, secure, comfortable.
The convenience of having motel within walking distance of bakery for breakfast and Pub for dinner makes it the perfect location for anyone working in the area.
Older style clean rooms in great location to main street. Located behind main building. Great old motel (was hotel) at front and you drive up alleyway under the motel veranda to access units.
