We thoroughly enjoyed our Port Augusta trip.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Port Augusta trip. We stayed at the Augusta Courtyard Motel, which was excellent. There may not be a lot to see but it’s quite a pretty town & nothing’s very far away.
We went down to the wharf for a peaceful stroll and took some lovely photos. Had breakfast in a cafe adjacent to a park, where there was free live music courtesy of a band that was singing and playing. They even supplied fold up chairs for folks to sit in 👍
A great morning was had before we headed off to the race track. Our horse wasn’t a winner but everything else was.
Loved our stay and wished we had an extra night!

We stayed at the Magestic Oasis Apartments - friendly, helpful staff in a lovely location. Full kitchen facilities. The air conditioner was very welcomed as the outside temperature was 42 C. A tad hot!

Odd town shopping area layout.
Odd town shopping area layout.
Wanted to go on Pichi Richi railway but here wrong day unfortunately.
Make sure you visit the water tower. Go up it and enjoy the views of Port Augusta and further afield.
Pet friendly and for a overnight stop off it’s not bad. it has everything you would need whilst in transit.
Shower was nice and hot with good water pressure.
aircon was cold but really noisey to run.
Bed wasn’t bad, pillows were flat so I used my own.
Being next to the highway and across from servo, I actually didn’t think the vehicle noise was bad made it easier to just get back on the road.
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and it is my hotel of choice in Port Augusta. It is far enough away from the main business area to be quiet, but is still only a short drive. It is near the train lines, but the trains haven't bothered me and I am a light sleeper.
Great value in Port Augusta - modern room - felt really comfy - good cooking facilities - separate bedrooms and living dining area - lovely modern cabins with a great verandah and parking next to cabin - really tidy and very clean - definitely recommend
Excellent motel. Surprisingly quiet even though it was on a very busy road. Very close to a supermarket and a hotel where we had an excellent meal. Nice walk to the Rotary Park and water tower lookout where there was a great view of the area
the rooms were lovely, comfy and spacious, so clean and pet friendly. BWS, Club/Hotel for food, supermarket food land and roadhouse servo just next door to facilities. so close to everything.
Comfort Inn Port Augusta definitely would stay at again. great size room with comfy bed and a great bathroom, also there’s a pub next door but 1 and didn’t hear a thing from it.
Perfect location, lovely fresh and clean. Value for money. Pet friendly and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more really. Thank you for making our short stay so pleasant.
Very comfortable overnight stay in Port Augusta. Our room was spacious and the king bed super comfy.
The staff recommendation of dinner at Augusta hotel was excellent.
Ease of booking, booking.com didn't advise them of pet, after searching for pet friendly accommodation.
Spoke to Tammy, who updated / upgraded to accommodate pet.
Easy access to the Highway, walking distance to a couple of great places to eat (especially the Standpipe), quiet, clean and a lovely welcome pack on arrival.
