Wayne is the most warm and welcoming home stay host.

Wayne is the most warm and welcoming home stay host. He and his two gentle border collies welcomed us and our kelpie into their beautiful home which sits near to but well above the beautiful beaches and main street of Penguin offering magnificent views of the vast Bass Strait. The people of Penguin are very friendly, the community run Op Shop full of fashions and treasures, bakery offering a huge range of delicious treats and free bikkies for visiting dogs, the fabulous Seasons by the Sea restaurant sitting right on the beach and run by delightful mother and daughters offering excellent local wines and creative food to die for! Clean accessible golden beaches with dog friendly leash free options, clean public toilets and lawns and play areas for children. The Neptune Hotel bistro on the seafront offers restaurant quality food served by the most welcoming friendly staff.

Seasons by the Sea - restaurant that serves local, seasonal menu. The food and the service was fabulous, all this while overlooking the sea. Penguin is easy to walk around and has a lovely beachside walk along the coast.

Penguin is a beautiful sea side town with lots of charm from the park to the beach with several interesting eateries to explore. Also a few interesting shops. The nearby town of Ulverstone while larger than Penguin is only 10 minutes away by car and has its own charms to explore. The mountains behind Penguin looked interesting and our host, Wayne had many suggestions for interesting places to explore. I cannot rave enough about how wonderful the included breakfast was. Our host made delicious scrambled eggs, fried mushroom, tomatoes and toast. This easily kept us going all day with only a light lunch.

Growing up in Tassie an Island, its nice to stay by the Sea when you need to relax and switch off. I visited the Tulip Festival at Table Cape near Wynyard, I also went to the Penguin Markets on Sunday and walked along the beach in perfect October Spring weather.

The location was beautiful. Wayne’s home has sweeping views out over Bass Strait and the Penguin township. He was a perfect host, being very friendly and was extremely knowledgeable about Penguin and Tasmania. Wayne cooked delicious breakfasts for me and went out of his way to ensure that my stay was comfortable and that I was happy and I did not go hungry. I would recommend Wayne’s home stay to anyone wanting to stay in a home away from home in delightful Penguin. He has 2 friendly border collies that are also very well behaved.

We were amazed by the stunning view. The interior decoration made us feel like immersing in a music world. The kitchen was fully equipped. We were provided ingredients for a full breakfast which was not advertised. We had the privilege to enjoy the whole house with five bedrooms which could accommodate 13 people, though we were only two couples. The owner only rents to one party no matter how many people the group has. Highly recommended if you’re going to Cradle Mountain or penguin viewing at Lilico Beach.

House was very close to Penguin center and the beachfront but also set back enough that it was nice and quiet. Owner was very nice and very accommodating, with lots of helpful local information and suggestions, Room was nicely appointed with sea views, very comfy bed and nice walk through shower and bathroom. It was also nice to be able to use the rear, enclosed garden and sit out on the garden furniture to relax. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This was our second stay at this property. We absolutely love it there. The view from the cabin is amazing -- we spotted a whale from the living room! It's a very private and very quiet area, which we just love. The fresh eggs are a nice touch too. We were able to do a load of laundry while here. The hosts are so kind. Everything was just amazing and so relaxing. Great value for money here. The little town of Penguin is great.

We enjoyed a fabulous 4 day stay at Penguin Beach House. It was in an excellent location to the town centre, a 10 minute walk into town along a new walkway. The kitchen was very well equipped and the basic condiments available were very handy. The three main bedrooms in the main section of the house were very comfortable as were the two bathrooms. The reverse cycle A/C made the living room very comfortable in the evening.

Lovely outlook above one of the gems of Tasmania, Penguin. Spacious home which the host provides unexpected additions such as eggs, breads, jams and others. You’d expect such things inHigh end Hotels, but I haven’t encountered at many B&B’s. Owner is very welcoming and thought I’d enjoy my stay so I booked an additional night on arrival. Thank you, Gerald for having such an amazing property.

Cute place with lots of character. Reception was very pleasant and we really didn't see anyone after that. Right on the main street across from the beach and we were able to park right there on the street. Easy drive to Burnie where we found a lovely restaurant on the water. After dinner we walked a few minutes along the boardwalk to watch the penguins come in. Penguin is a lovely town.
