We ate at the Malanda pub; a good pub meal in a beautiful old building. We stopped and looked through the Malanda Dairy Centre which is getting a bit run down but had interesting historical information about the local area and was worth a look. The Lions monthly markets were on; a great place for local fruit and vegetables and other local treats. Nerada Tea Centre is worth a visit and if you are lucky, you might even see a tree kangaroo.

Malanda is a beautiful town with friendly people. There are great little shops, lovely food and beautiful places to explore in and around close by. The local markets are a great place for fresh produce, baked goodies, plants and good coffee. Very family friendly with beautiful crater lakes nearby to go swimming and kayaking, and creeks to go platypus watching. The weather is beautiful most days.

Very friendly owners who went out of their way to exceed our expectations. The beautifully refurbished interior was a pleasant surprise and there are multiple common areas to relax in or mingle with other guests. They are pet friendly.

We stayed just a short drive out of the main town, so it wasnt far for us to go out for dinner at the local pub and breakfast at the local cafe. Both places had great food. Would highly recommend. There eas nothing bad about Malanda. A must see is Malanda falls and then a short drive to Milla Milla falls.
