It needs to be modernised and renovated.

It needs to be modernised and renovated. Bathroom sink in bedroom?!?!? Old, dingy, and mouldy. The heater crackled and popped. Didn't feel secure. Could hear every thing the next door was saying. Bed was rock hard and horrible to sleep in. Carpet felt dirty.

Once a working class area where kids played in the gutter, “...

Once a working class area where kids played in the gutter, “No shooting” signs in urban parks where kids rode their bikes it’s now considered the inner north of Hobart. This is the light industrial capital of Tasmania. It’s the hub of metal mechanics, logistics and supply chain. It’s the home of wholesale where it’s main activity is confined to a corridor that centres along the Main Road. Derwent Park has a high commercial to residential real estate ratio. It’s also the home of the state’s major public bus interchange. The schools are still a bit rough, the pubs still have the odd punch on but the folk are a down to earth working base with good families moving into the area if they can afford it.
