As a solo traveler I was nervous to go to Joburg after reading how unsafe it was. Therefore, I’ve been told I should look for accommodation in Melrose Arch as it’s a safe location. And that was absolutely right! I felt super safe and at home. The apartment is located in an office building, which may seem odd, but the benefit is that it’s super quiet at night thus you will have an amazing sleep. The security is present downstairs 24/7. The apartment itself has all the amenities you may need. There’s also a lovely balcony. The bathroom was clean, towels were provided. The bed was comfortable even if on the shorter side. Special thanks to Shoneez and Suzanne who both took wonderful care of me. Thank you! All in all, would gladly come back any time!

The wood-fired tub overlooking the river is such a special touch. I wish we could have stayed longer but we will definitely go back. Can highly recommend this beautiful establishment.

It was a very spacious, secure, and clean cottage in a great location with safe parking. I was alone, but a couple could stay here pretty comfortably. I loved being a short walk to the hiking trails at Melville Koppies East, and the location was convenient to visiting the Wits and UJ campuses as well as visiting friends scattered around the northern suburbs. Vicky was very responsive when I needed something and patient with my thick-witted culture shock questions (how do you reopen the drain?!?), and very hands-off otherwise. The outdoor shower was a weird but fun bonus.

The room was beautiful and you have everything you need. I enjoyed my stay there. The photos on the internet don't do justice to this place. It is way more beautiful.
