Situated in the heart of Tongariro National Park, Skotel Alpine Resort offers a restaurant, a hot tub and a terrace bar with a fireplace. Most accommodations boast stunning mountain or region views. The location is stunning. You can get on the trail straight out of the parking lot. We booked a room with a queen bed and a shared bathroom. The room was tiny, just a few square feet larger than the bed but it was very cozy and the shared lounge was spacious. The shared bathroom was spotless. The shared kitchen was well equipped and I enjoyed the social aspect of being around other travelers. We visited during a spring shoulder but I worry that during peak ski season both the kitchen and bathrooms would be overwhelmed.

Last minute stay at Ventura Inn was lovely. I was surprised to get a suite so that really exceeded my expectations. Basically it was a one bedroom apartment with all the amenities and comforts. Nice kitchen, big screen TV in the living room, large bed that was very comfortable, and windows that let in a lot of sunlight. Location was great- just a short walk to the main city center. Free parking on site too. Staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much. Definitely recommend.

La vista sul lago è impagabile, abbiamo visto un tramonto stupendo. La camera è grande, il bagno aveva sia la vasca (enorme) che la doccia. Proprio davanti all'albergo c'è una passeggiata sul lungo fiume che ti porta alla zona centrale, molto piacevole.

I believe the property is only a few months old which explains why the motel was so new and clean.
