For the private waterfall, the quirky and heartwarming handmade details all around the grounds, the nightsky, feeding trouts, hearing blue ducks, or the room with costumes, but most importantly for feeling this unique spot between nature and garden. It is so peaceful and quiet it is absolutely mind-boggling.

The inside of this historic hotel was charming, comfortable and quiet. The host gave my friend and me private rooms even though we booked a shared room because we were to get only guests in the hotel. She was very kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend - especially if you like historic buildings.

Located on the main street of Wanganui, Rutland Arms Inn and features an a la carte restaurant and bar. Free Wi-Fi access is available in all areas, and there is free on-site parking. We had a more than pleasent stay. The rooms are great and the breakfest very delicious. All the stuff was very friendly and toughfull. There is a restaurant in the same building and the main street from Whanganui is right in front of the Inn.

The Powderhorn Chateau is situated in Ohakune, at the entrance to Tongariro National Park. great location close to train station, comfortable room with balcony, nice restaurant.

Hotel Coachman is located in the heart of Palmerston North. It offers a large outdoor swimming pool, 2 hot tubs, plus a fitness centre. Free Wi-Fi is included. We were very impressed by this accommodation, very big room with separate bedroom, felt like home.

Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodation in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. The room was heated on arrival. Late check in, but greeted by friendly staff. Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, warm fire, excellent service.
