The Bear exceeded all my expectations. I was last here in 1976!. Every detail had been scrupulously chosen to enhance the "Bear experience" from the linen to the toiletries to the wines and the meal. I will definitely drive out of my way to stay here again.Well done!!

We travelled to Derbyshire to visit chatworth house and booked at the hotel very last minute. We was very impressed with how we were welcomed on our arrival by very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and we were provided with a free bottle of beer and Prosecco which was a nice surprise. We also didn’t expect to receive a free packed lunch to take with us even though we only stayed for one night.

We had a family meet up with a lot of family with smaller children and they put us in an area where the kids could move and play without us being a disruption to other guests. Food in restaurant was lovely and a good choice to pick from.
