Great to stay with your own car and to explore.
Great to stay with your own car and to explore. We loved our own fishing spots and freshwater swimming holes. The Daintree ice cream factory is great. You must walk around and see their fruit trees. The ‘Crocodile Express’ company, specifically is fantastic- 2 trips to upper and lower rivers on the Daintree (near the river crossing) is amazing. $39 for two different trips. Over 2 1/2 hrs- it’s value that other companies don’t offer.

The staff were friendly and they rooms very clean. We saw a cassowary and three chicks in the place itself. Food choices are limited but that is to be expected in such a remote place. Signage good, parking good, gardens lovely, facilities ok. Some getting a bit tired tho - e.g. blind on door in bad state of repair. Activities book needs updating as some venues no longer operating due to covid and staff shortages.
