Everything is done with love and attention. A warm welcome by the family, fantastic food, lovely rooms with a spectacular view. And no noise, only the sounds of nature 😊( in Rantepao the mosk will wake you up early in the morning, or great chance there is a karaoke bar somewhere). Highly recommended!

Offering an accommodation with a dive centre, Happy Gecko Dive Resort is located on Bunaken Island in North Sulawesi, just steps from the island’s world-famous beaches and diving sites. It features a private beach area and a restaurant. The place was so peaceful, and the house reef a 10 minute swim away. Good coral and lots of fish. It was so nice that divers and snorkelling were with the same boat. Food is good. It is not spicy, but there is delicious sambal to add if you like. There is a fridge full of cold Bintang and soft drinks. Things are well organised, and Willeke is great and kind host. We had a wonderful time PS. We read that the beach could be polluted with rubbish. But is our travels we have seen that this can happen at any beach if the current is in that direction. When we were the beach was clean

Guesthouse Guesthouse The 4 Fish is located in Tongkaina. Just 18 km from Manado and a 10-minute walk from a dive centre. It features an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and rooms with views of the valley from the terrace. Free internet and parking are provided. The view from the terrace, the hospitality from Lea and her lovely attentive team, the chilled atmosphere, the nice pool.

Located in Bunaken, 3WILL Bunaken Dive Resort is only a short distance from beautiful snorkelling and diving spots. It boasts a diving centre, massage services and a tour desk.

Each private cottage comes with a fan and a private balcony which offers views of the surrounding greenery. It features an en suite bathroom, mosquito nets and toiletries. It also has a seating area. What a gem! The food is excellent, the room comfortable, the diving incredible and the staff … wow! Everyone from the dive guides and crew to the kitchen and house/grounds keeping staff were very attentive, taking care of the needs of their guests. We can’t say enough about our experience here!

This property can also help arrange dolphin tour upon request and at an additional charge. The nearest diving and snorkeling spot can be found just a 2-minute walk away. Snorkelling gear is available with a fee. Clear water with clean beds and delicious meal.

Located right on Bara Beach in Bira, Cosmos Bungalows offers a beautifully simple beachfront accommodation where each bungalow has sea view. Free on-site parking space for guests who drive. The property has a lot of staircases and may not be suitable for elderly or young children. The bungalows are simple and very nicely decorated. The views are to die for. I loved the stairs straight down to the beach, the hammock on the veranda, simplicity, small scale and the overall value for money. Located on Bunaken Island along the Pangalisan Beach, Cakalang Resort offers diving and snorkeling opportunities on-site. It has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk.

Fan-cooled bungalows come with free Wi-Fi and feature garden and sea views. Tea/coffee-making facilities and an en suite bathroom with shower facilities are available. The food was very good. Ferdinand was great, the ferry wasn't running so he was able to find alternative transportation back and forth so we didn't miss out on our time at Bunaken. The reef is right in front of the facility.

Set on a mountain with views of natural scenery, Gardenia Country Inn is a 10-minute drive from Tomohon Traditional Market. Enjoying a peaceful location, it has a meditation pavilion and a hiking trail. The property is just gorgeous. It's big, so you can roam around seeing the views towards the volcanoes. It's full of flowers everywhere, and there are tons of wild birds that visit the place, so it's a great place for birders and photographers. The area looks more like a park or garden, just beautiful. The restaurant area is very cozy, and you can easily spend a few hours relaxing on the terrace. We also liked the staff, always ready to help and assist you. The manager is very friendly and communicative, with great insight into the area and local costumes. The cabins are spacious, clean, and comfortable , with great views from the front terrace. They are located on the edge of the property, so they have a lot of privacy.

Full-board Indonesian and western meals, water and tea/coffee are provided for free at the open-air Seafront restaurant.

Spread across 2.5 hectares of tropical gardens, the wooden bungalows are simply furnished with a fan. The private terrace enjoys views of the sea and reef.
