Situated in the village of Fen Drayton, the Thorn House B&B offers a self contained one bedroom lodge and a self contained one bedroom guesthouse with free Wi-Fi and free private parking. It is just 15 minutes’ drive from central Cambridge and 5 minutes from St Ives.

I almost didn't want to do a review on the Thorn B&B because it was so perfect I wanted to keep it a secret 🤫 Gorgeous, quiet location. Great to have a whole little house all to ourselves. Lovely cooked breakfast hand delivered each morning. The lovely host, Alex, likes to deliver breakfast by 8am so if you want a lie in take some cereal or bread for toast and make your own in the little kitchen where a microwave, small fridge with chiller slot (not freezer), coffee machine, toaster and kettle are provided. There's also tea, coffee pods, condiments, jam and a big barrel of biscuits provided. Small living room with smart TV, cupboard that doubled up as a wardrobe and ironing board and iron home and dining table. Walk in shower was efficient and toiletries are provided. The bed was comfy and the bedroom was equipped with fans, electric blanket, hairdryer and straighteners! There wasn't a garden view in our lodge but there was a private drive that allowed us to take the car right up to the front door of the property which made unpacking a breeze. Away from the property there is a local pub 'The Three Tuns' which does a very nice meal. Not the cheapest place for food but if it is only a night or two then it's great. There is no shop of any kind in the village so stock up before you get there. Alex gave us a fabulous welcome with a little treat (I won't spoil the surprise) and nothing seemed too much trouble for him. If you want a relaxed, private experience then this is definitely the place for you.

Located in Cambridge and within 20 km of University of Cambridge, Golden Ball Hotel features a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. The property is around 40 km from Audley End House, 18 km from St John's College and 20 km from St Catharine's College. Cambridge Corn Exchange is 20 km from the inn.

The breakfast options were good, but we had cereal and toast, just right. The staff were super friendly and helpful. One of the main meal options promised 'confit of duck' was not available, but we had a nice alternative. The hotel is very quiet and comfortable situated in a rural landscape with lovely thatched buildings about. Parking was excellent and all within easy access to the motorway and Cambridge.

The host is very welcoming. The bed was lovely and the whole apartment all to myself was great. I was able to take food in to eat in the kitchenette and the vegetarian breakfast was excellent. Its a quiet place in a lovely village.

This is a little gem. Alex (host) is very friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect as it's close to major roads, but hidden away in the quiet countryside. The thought into the little extras (pod coffee machine, microwave, mini-fridge, big biscuit barrel, electric blanket and loads of extras in the bathroom) is amazing. The cooked breakfast delivered to your room is cooked to perfection.
