I can not say anything bad about this hotel. Everything is just top notch. I wish I stayed longer than a night. I definitely want to and will be back.
Sara at the front desk was a gem. She really helped us out with everything, she was very kind and patient the whole time. There was a car and tuk tuk option as a form of transpiration, which was very helpful. The rest of the stuff was kind as well.

Unlike Cairo, Aswan is much slower paced and people are much nicer. The city has several historical sites, temples, and islands. The views and food are amazing. I’m skipping Cairo on my next trip to Egypt and coming straight to Aswan and Luxor.

A very beatiful place to relax and enjoy the sun during winter.
We felt very safe and happy.
The local market is great it has unique and authentic goods.
The philae Temple is great it has spots to take photos and great views.
We enjoyed the Botonical Garden very much as it has plants from all over the world.
The feluca ride is one of the best things we enjoyed but first you have to agree on the price.

Tombs of the Nobles were really neat if you can make it over to the other bank. Watch out for the camel guys there though. We got roped into $50 camel rides.
Aswan was probably our least favorite stop in Egypt. Harassment by salespeople was higher here than at the Great Pyramids, and much higher than Luxor! We couldn't walk anywhere at anytime of the day without a salesperson walking with us for several blocks. And as soon as they were done, someone else would take over. Its too bad, I think the corniche could be a really pretty walk!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
I didn’t realize that the hotel was undergoing a little construction. It looked like they were upgrading their ramp. This meant we had to carry our bags up the stairs to the lobby.
The property is beautiful and has a terrific view of the town and we could see the Nile from our room. The restaurant was very good- we had dinner there.
BTW the construction noise never bothered us. We couldn’t hear it at all.

If you are doing the Initiatic path, Elephantine Island is so perfect. We stayed at Mango Tree (feel like exotic move stars) and Nubian Dreams (also a restaurant but we scored their top floor room and that is super fun) We also stayed at Nubian Palace, oh my gosh. Take a little private ferry and go to that place. Its so memorable. Philae temple was set up from our host at Nubian Palace (which we usually never do but she is a badass and handles it so you don't have to negotiate to and from the ferry marina) Stay on the west bank. Never the east. Its so loud and full of hustle. The west bank is like real Egypt. Lovely. Easy to start the temple path to Abu Simbel by hopping on a local large bus. Fun, cheap, easy. (Its a little more coming back but its all very cheap so be nice and accept the system) From here you can take a train, bus or private taxi to Kom Ombo and Edfu as you make your way to Luxor. (ALSO STAY ON THE WEST BANK in luxor) What a lovely quiet and profoundly spiritual adventure.
My wife and I chose the Basma Hotel for our stay in Aswan, and we were definitely not disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the Nile River. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. The food at the restaurant "The Lotus" was fantastic. Big shout out to our waiter Akhmed for suggesting the buffet, and his awesome service! If you're looking for an excellent hotel at a great price, look no further then the Basma! You will not be disappointed..
The staff was very wonderful and catered to my every need. The room was impeccably clean, and all the facilities were in perfect working order. Thank you for your excellent hospitality, and I hope to stay at aswan movenpick Hotel again soon.
i would like to express my sincere gratitude to
Mrs. Tayseer she was Dedicated to her work
Mr. Ahmed sameer
Mr wael the duty manager
And finally the super chef
I wish you the best in your future endeavors
Love you all
This hotel is a jewel. Beautiful paintings, sense of detail, quiet and clean room, splendid terrace (i stayed hours gazing on it), and most of all, lovely staff. Saïda, the manager, is exceptionnal ; worth a 5 stars prestation.
Elephantine Island is nice to wander around Aswan. But to chill and gaze, Nubian village is way beyond in my opinion. I could seriously consider to spend an entire week in it, with a proper fruit shop !
The best host we have met in Egypt. Great and fast contact either via booking or WhatsApp. He can arrange any transport around Aswan for a good price, and drivers are always on time and kind. Also, the host can help you with any other matter regarding traveling in Egypt. Wifi was reliable and fast, good AC (it can be tricky in Egypt). Good location that is close to groceries, bazaar, and local food, Nile river boats etc.
EVERYTHING! Literally everything, the location was just amazing.. true, it's far away from central Aswan, but waking up every day in a small island in the middle of the Nile was magical!
Staff were very attentive and helpful: Mahmouda, Choura, Nardin, Fadi, Eman, and the rest!
Unfortunately, we discovered the spa on the last day.. so please do not miss it.
Food is delicious, and the menu offers good Egyptian food.
the staff was really helpfull and try to do their best to make u feel comfy
the location was good just facing river nile but the way to the hotel the government was fixing it but there was like two option to reach there ,
i would like to thanks mr hatem he give us a free upgrade to Nile view Room wich was amazing ,
they give also amazing breakfast and the lunch was really great with tradetional food from Aswan .
The hotel boasts a very comfortable bed and is exceptionally clean, situated in the heart of a unique village. There's a good restaurant nearby. Most importantly, the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. They even assisted in booking a trip to Abu Simbel temple at very reasonable prices. I'll definitely return to stay here again.
Our hotel manager Selim made sure everything was arranged from boat rides into Aswan, rides to the airport, and great customer service at the hotel. The chef Mahmoud was very nice to us well, helping with a series of early starters that I know he didn't sleep a ton because of. The hotel is beautiful, would highly recommend.
Incredible atmospheric design of the property in the heart of nubian village! Very clean and cozy, best bed i had in Egypt. Breakfast was very good, especially falafel)) the place is quiet and situated on the bank of Nile, you can swim. And you can take the boat directly to city center Aswan.
The hotel is located in the Elephantine Island. Just a 5 min walk from the public ferry. There is a separate private ferry stand just in front of it. It is a new hotel with excellent facilities. AC was working perfectly. Beds were comfortable. Mohammed helped us a lot in booking tours for us
Saif is a great man, he is more than a hotel owner. He arranged everything for us like Hurghada Airport transfer to Aswan (it is really difficult to arrange in Egypt), Abu Simbel Temple tour. He made our difficult tour easier. Thank you so much, Saif. You are really great man
This is one of the top ten hotels I’ve ever stayed out and I travel all over the world regularly. Everything is perfect. The staff is amazing, the hotel room, the food and views. It’s really top among hotels for me. You must stay here if you visit Aswan.
Hotel was nice and clean. David was so helpful and kind. His hospitality is amazing. He was always there whenever we needed help. He guided us throughout our stay in Aswan. I'm happy to recommend David hostel to anyone planning to stay in Aswan.
The place its self is absolutely gorgeous! The hotel is stunning and in a stunning location (a bit far from the town/city of Aswan, but in an absolutely amazing Nubian village.) The food it good. It is a nice and calm place.
It's a perfect place to stay in Aswan. David is definitely one of the best Egyptians we have met during our journey around Egypt. He's a very hospitable and helpful person.
We wish we could stay there more days.
The view, but I rather stay on the main land Aswan for the same view and don't need to take a water taxi each time i need to go out. There was not hostel/hotel not on the island to choose from @Booking.com
This is a very pleasant and clean place, it's a guesthouse not a hotel so expect the hospitality of the family. Not a luxury stay but a calm and peaceful place away from the noise and chaos of Aswan city.
The staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. The hotel and room are very simple to stay short trip in Aswan. The restaurant is at the 6th floor, so the view was so wonderful.
This hotel has very good view and reasonable price in Aswan. The restaurant serves so many delicious Egyptian dishes. I really enjoyed it and price is very nice!
