Bali's Peaceful Retreat
If you are seeking a hideaway from Bali’s chaotic Kuta, Ubud provides a welcome respite with its secluded paths, calming temples and specialised spa resorts. Surrounded by rice paddies, coconut trees and lush forests of green, Ubud is seen as the cultural centre of Bali.
The road leading up to Ubud features little villages specialising in handicrafts like Celuk (silver jewellery), Batuan (paintings) and Mas (wood carvings). Ubud is a busy place. You can take trips from Ubud and take a driver for whole day to access places which are further. All in all, it is sufficient to spend 3 days in Ubud and move to further places to North or East to explore more there.

There is so much to do in and around Ubud.
There is so much to do in and around Ubud. I wouldn’t plan on driving but hire a driver. It’s about the same as renting a car and with a good driver he’ll help in many ways, where to go, eat and exchange money. Plus, I can’t imagine dealing with the traffic, which is crazy. It seems everyone in Bali uses WhatsApp and I’d recommend downloading it if you don’t already have it.PATRICKUnited States - 10Scored 10
Ubud was beautiful!
Ubud was beautiful! So many things to see and do, we loved going to the waterfalls and rice terrace. Ubud centre was really busy but we went during the king Cremation. We went to a sliver making class which was amazing! The locals were beautiful, really friendly and not pushy at all!!

My family had some great times in the private pool by our villa. One evening the staff prepared a flower bath in our bathroom and that was a lovely Balinese experience. (Also free of charge) We could not go out in the evening because our 5 yo had to sleep but the hotel arranged for two masseuses so my husband and I could get a Balinese massage. We are vegan and the kitchen prepared a lovely and diverse vegan breakfast every morning.
