Pendrin Guest House, hotel in Tintagel

Housed in a historic building, Pendrin Guest House provides accommodation with water sports facilities and free WiFi in Tintagel, 1 km from Merlin's Cave Beach.

Well....... One of the owners greeted us, friendly. Our room was on the top floor, and quite small for two adults. Room was clean , bed was very uncomfortable, could feel bed springs, left with back hurting after two nights.bathroom door creaked very loud so you could hear other occupant using toilet. Bathroom had cool modern mirror, shower was tiny. Outside of building needed refurbishment, at least some paint. Breakfast was ok. Ordered "full english' sausage was undercooked and slightly raw in the middle. Asked for scrambled eggs and got one fried egg instead. Yogurt was gone off and warm. Not much offering for "continental side. They did offer fresh fruit bowl, but didnt see any fruit out. one toaster and a bit of a competition to use it. Jam packets seemed old. Brewed coffee was ok, but could have been hotter. Just the two owners running everything , so understandable to be a bit overwhelmed. I would say invest in some comfortable mattresses, and maybe hire a breakfast cook if possible. It was not horrible, and location was near the Castle. Walking distance to pub, store, and restuarant. 204 pounds for two nights so not super pricey.

Tintagel castle is very expensive to visit 65 pounds to get in to see what in essence is ruins. Nice view of sea and cove below. Town shuts down very early. not a lot to do really, typical tourists shops

Tintagel is a lovely village it has some real quaint shops and the castle beach is well worth a visit although found the entry fee to the castle a bit steep so we didn’t do that the tide was out for a visit to Merlin’s cave but be prepared for steep steps 😂 the pasty shop was lovely too and all the tea shops etc looked amazing happy travels 🥰🥰

I am trying to review Fisherman’s cottage-which was great except that it didn’t state anywhere in it that it was a studio flat. It said it had one bedroom but there is no door to separate it from the rest of the cottage so u are essentially sleeping in the same room as a fridge & freezer gurgling all night -and if u have a dog u have to sleep in the same room as it unless u shut it in the bathroom. I just thought that it was important to make this point somewhere as nowhere seemed to let me review the cottage properly- just gave me a set of tick box questions. As I said it is a lovely cottage unless u mind sleeping with ur dog and a fridge and freezer in the same room-which I did! As for Tintagel-been coming here for years and is as lovely as ever!

Exceptional stay - the property was spotlessly clean, newly refurbished, the room had all needed amenities and more (even bathrobe was provided), quality mattress and bedding, gorgeous view of the sea and 19th century castle. Owners of the property were very welcoming, advised on the best route to the hotel and shared taxi contacts. Lovely breakfast, especially the fresh fruit salad. Location is the best for the views and access to Tintagel Castle.

The customer service was excellent. the bed in our room was very unstable the first day we came to stay, the staff instantly acknowledged the situation and placed us into a better room until the bed in our room was completely replaced. The breakfast was included in our visit and was really nice. The hotel is quite close to scenic places like the Merlin’s cave and Tintagel castle. Shops, bakeries, takeaway and fish & chips within a mile radius.

The food was amazing, breakfast was far larger than I expected. The rooms were really lovely, the building is from the 1350's but the rooms have been modernised really well (loads of sockets!) while keeping the historic aesthetic. It may be one of the nicest old buildings I've stayed in, very comfortable and warm. The staff were all very friendly and helpful too, great service. I'd definitely stay here again if I come back to Tintagel.

Breakfast was lovely - fully cooked with lots of choice! Service from the staff was great throughout - they were very attentive and friendly. Parking was very convenient and spacious and we were kindly allowed to leave our car in the car park during the day while we went for a hike to Boscastle. Location is pretty much the most central place you could be in Tintagel for a tourist.

Laid back place for those looking to chill and have experiences with similar minded people. The owner is an absolute pleasure to talk to. Beach hostel but really serious about cleaning and common sense rules. Excellent location near Tintagel Castle. No frills but filling breakfast (all kinds of cereals). The place in North Cornwall. Rooms not overcrowded with beds as some hostels.

Location spectacular and plenty of things of interest in the hotel. Could easily walk into Tintagel on the flat. Staff really friendly. Booked a sea view room and instead of being able to see a slither of sea like at some hotels we had a full sea view from 2 huge windows. Bedroom was massive, more like a suite with sofa and armchair. Could also see the amazing Castle bridge.

Breakfast was good, full english available, with toast. Also cereals and yogurts. Location was great, reason for our trip was to visit Tintagel Castle, and The Wootons is at the top of the pathway down to the castle, with Landrover stop off point, pick up and return for the castle, right by the hotel. The Old Post Office is also just a few yards up into the village.

Love the location, right in the heart of Tintagel opposite the old post office, easy walk to the castle and other attractions in the area. The free parking is a bonus, especially as they allow you to continue using it on your day of departure. Great choice of food and drinks and reasonably priced for Cornwall.

A great place for a family stay. We played a few games and the tables were ideal. The Netflix & Wifi was great. The clock on the wall was a nice touch as it is not often we have one provided. If we come to Tintagel again we would love to stay here.
