Great personal service, owner very welcoming and helpfull. Nice and clean accommodation, good size and value. Plenty of Coffee, orange juice and a breakfast snack provided. On the morning of my departure my car had a flat battery. The owner provided assistance and let me stay in the Annexe until the AA arrived, very helpfull and understanding.

Everything. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The food was amazing. We'll done to the chef. Liam The manager was so helpful as we needed to change rooms and it was not a problem at all. Can't wait to stay there again. 🙂🙂

The biggest problems were the awful mattress, tiny TV and the noise.. also on the booking with you,it said that breakfast was available at £6:50 per person.... But they didn't do any breakfast,so we had to go into the town to find a café.

Lovely part of the world.
Lovely part of the world. Given it's proximity to US air bases it's a pity that levels of 'service' commonplace in America don't appear yet to have rubbed off on the locals. Town has everything you need and more. Take time to suss out the backways... you'll avoid traffic queues.

The shower didn't heat up when I was trying to get ready at 6am - I tried it for several minutes on various settings. The room was freezing when I got in - single glazed windows, and the only source of heat is an old noisy aircon unit that needed about 2 hours to get the room warm. There was a function on (a very small function from what I could see), so the restaurant wasn't open for dinner - I should have been notified of this in advance. I had to go out to get a takeaway instead of eating in. The staff are pleasant, but not particularly friendly or helpful - you feel as though they're doing you a favour by serving you... The rooms are quite old fashioned and need some TLC (trim missing on the bedside tables). Lighting used is old energy saver bulbs which take ages to brighten, especially in the bathroom.

We regularly visit Mildenhall for family reasons.
We regularly visit Mildenhall for family reasons. It is a small attractive town with a splendid church with an angel ceiling. Like most historic towns, the attractive shopping areas of old has been a little blighted by recent developments in retail. However, the immediate environs is full of rural interest. The town also provides good road links.

Location was great for visiting Lakenheath airfield.
Location was great for visiting Lakenheath airfield. Car park adequate and safe. Hotel desperately in need of a refit especially the exterior. Good breakfast cafe next door. Nothing to see in Mildenhall itself. Better to try Newmarket to stay at.

Lovely property and host, very approachable.
Lovely property and host, very approachable. Comfy bed and well resourced kitchen.
Liked · Beautiful rural location and v quiet lovely host, comfy bed, we slept well, the host sorted out a query, quickly, loved the dog. Would happily stay again, the Millenium walk along the river is a beautiful one and there are maps around Barton Mills to show the route.
Disliked · There is no house sign with Apple Cottages on it or a house number as an alternative so we had to search the length of the road to find the property and then work it out from a google maps picture.
The breakfast was good but not as substantial as the photo on the basket showed; we were given at a reduced price however.
Needs salt and a pepper grinder in the kitchen.
We sat in the garden which was delightful.
Breakfast was excellent, with several choices. Also some additional continental style buffet items freely available. Dinner was also prepared and presented very well. Staff were always courteous and friendly. Mildenhall itself is small market town and although there is not a great deal to do, the town is attractive to walk around and of particular note is the ancient market cross and impressive church. There is a museum as well but unfortunately we didn't get time to visit it as we also visited Bury St Edmunds and Ely during our stay.
The hotel was nice and quiet. Except a wedding reception, but they did tell us and it was over at 11.30 so can't complain.
A few shops around the hotel but again quiet.
Shame there was no breakfast, but just next door was a cafe with good breakfast. The dinners in hotel were great. Drinks at a reasonable price for a hotel
Lovely food at a very reasonable price.
Also a great bonus to have a fridge in room.
Staff and locals very friendly and welcoming. We're always offering help.
quaint pub room.
bathroom had under floor heating.
i booked a double room and
ended up with very large family room.
even when I informed there was only one
adult staying instead of the expected 2.
the hotel said they would only charge for
single occupant and I had the same
room. very good service. he even helped
me to carry my luggage up the stairs.
food was excellent and very good price,
as was my cider from the bar.
Booked the room as was attending an event nearby, we were greated with a warm welcome from Scott, we had an ensuit room which had a bath , the room was a good size and the price was excellent. We would definitely stay here again when next in the area. Thank you Scott.
Loved the hotel style and location - a beautiful old building. All the staff we met were amazing and very helpful..
Breakfast was fabulous - full Suffolk cooked breakfast and the cold buffet selection.
Would stay again despite the room being too warm.
Initially we were attracted by the location - next door to RAF Mildenhall (we're aircraft enthusiasts). But the Annex is such a wonderful secluded place - as is Claire the proprietor. That for us, it is our first choice for accommodation.😊
Dinner was excellent (even though the prawn cocktail jumped in a time machine from 1976 to my table) and the waiting staff were great. Location was beautiful, the hotel itself was a nice, relaxed and quirky place to be
Host was very welcoming and willing to help- especially when the trip switch flicked the power off!
Nice, quiet road locstion, just a short walk from shops and eating and drinking places in Mildenhall.
From a very personal perspective The Annexe at Asbit Lodge being located in close proximity to RAF Mildenhall is the perfect haven. Claire (the proprieter) is a very lovely host. I'll back!
This property was very cozy. A very short drive to both RAF bases as well as short walk into town. Perfect location and a very quiet neighborhood. Roger was great and very accommodating!
Location was ideal for visiting family in Mildenhall. Property was extremely well equipped, clean and our own access door was perfect. Really quiet area and an especially lovely host!
