At 1h30 from Paris, the Demeure de Campagne Chemins de Sologne presents itself as the house of a collector whose second passion is nature and its pleasures.
If it weren’t for Joan of Arc, Orléans may not have become the beautiful city it is today. The teenage heroine of France liberated the city during the Hundred Years War, a fact commemorated with a May festival and a statue of her on horseback in a large square (well, hexagon).
From Joan’s former house nearby, a road leads to Sainte-Croix Cathedral. Arriving from this direction, the cathedral appears somewhat overshadowed by terraced buildings, until you step out into its square and realise what an incredible structure it is.
To the north is the fine art museum and in the opposite direction are the shops, restaurants and bars of Rue de Bourgogne. Place du Châtelet houses more shops, overlooked by narrow half-timbered buildings. Just south, historic Georges V Bridge crosses the fast-flowing Loire River, connecting the historic centre with modern suburbs.
South of the river are the Parc des Expos and Zenith d’Orléans event centres, while further away is the Parc Floral de la Source – gardens centred on the source of the Loiret River. Even further south is the tranquil Sologne forest, while to the west the Loire passes many wonderful castles.
As well as Loire Valley accommodation, Booking.com offers luxury Orléans hotels, cheap B&Bs and apartments near the train station.

We were only in Orleans for one night after flying transatlantic into Paris. So we did not see much. We formed a positive impression though...the statue of Joan of Arc, the Cathedral, the shops and quaint, easily walkable historic district.

Orléans is a surprising small city, packed with history and home to Jeanne d’Arc. Beautiful city centre, very beautifully planned and executed urban redevelopment putting on focus historical features and yes the cathedral is just stunning. We stayed only a short overnight and were lucky to witness the late night light show pinned to the facade of the cathedral: just stunning. Beautiful pedestrian areas with medieval timber framed houses as well as glamorous arcades and squares. Will go back again!

From the U. S. and first time visiting France.
From the U. S. and first time visiting France. We were in Orleans for just one night. This hotel is in a great location to walk to the sights and pedestrian areas. The front desk staff were proactively helpful providing a map of the area and what is available.
The parking was in a courtyard and very safe. As extra bonus for this hotel, we asked for a bucket of ice and actually got a wine bucket with ice. I say this because at a hotel stay with different chain a couple nights prior we got a cereal bowl of ice.
Room was pristine and had AC. Temps have been about 80 and nights were not very cool to sleep at prior lodgings we were staying at.
Should we visit Orleans again we will stay at this hotel.
We needed secure parking as we had two valuable bicycles on the back of our car. The hotel has outside parking with a gate that closed at midnight with CCTV and secure underground parking. We opted for the underground parking, very secure and well worth the small extra charge for the piece of mind.
The restaurant was excellent. Nicely decorated and the food was fabulous. Chef David visited the table of his diners which was a very nice touch. Breakfast was a buffet and again provided an huge range of foods to accommodate big appetites.
The location is great for visiting Orleans. It is in the middle of the historical center of the city. The apartment is in an old building - interesting itself (be aware of the third floor without an elevator). The window view is great. The apartment is well equipped for a stay of 2 or 4 people (because of a single bathroom - for 2 it is better))). The kitchen has everything you need for a mid/long stay. Some kitchen stuff might be renewed.
At first I was thrown off by the fact that there was no check-in desk, but once I got into my room, I knew I had made the right choice. My room was impeccable. Modern and tastefully decorated (seemed to be recently renovated), immaculately clean, extremely comfortable, with all the amenities. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The location was also very close to the Orléans gare (train station), a mall, and a cathedral.
We arrived quite late, check-in was smooth and the staff was friendly. We were travelling with our dog and this went smooth as well, a small fee was charged for the dog (around €5). There is a parking garage very close by though free parking no the street is also possible. Nice location if you are planning to visit the city, we stayed one night while doing a road trip across France.
Very nice hotel to travel with children. They loved the game room, with real games like pool and table tennis. The garden is spacious and so much fun: tennis, basketball, picknick tables and pool. Breakfast is good too. Lots of options to choose from. Dinner is also nice, we had the dorade and it tasted really good.
Check out at noon is also a big plus!
Very welcoming, very good food in the restaurant, the suite was very origanal well thought out and luxurious the views of the Loire River are lovely and an easyplace to have the dog. The breakfast lovely French breakfast. The market on Saturday in just a 5 minute walk away. A special little corner in France we will be going back.
Comfort Hotel Orléans Sud Co'met is my go-to hotel when I travel from Netherlands to Spain. It's conveniently located about halfway just below Paris. Rooms are alright and beds comfy. Breakfast is okay. It also has an enclosed private parking. Feels very secure. I love coming here.
Perfect location, 5min walk to Orleans cathedral and city center where you can find all the restaurants.
Public parking available in front of the hotel. Warm welcome from the receptionist, who also gave us a city map and gave us plenty of tips on places to see or eat.
The flat is very central, with a parking space. The open dining/kitchen/lounge area and balcony were lovely and well decorated.
It was well equipped with plenty of plates and glasses (though it didn’t have any wine glasses, strange for France)
This is our favourite Campanile on our journey down to SW France - and one of the few in a fairly rural setting . If you have a dog there are good walks and green space. Request a ground floor room if you do have a dog - much easier!
The hotel is sparkling clean with comfy rooms and beds. We spent almost a week in Ibis Orleans Centre Gare. The staff was gentle and always available to satisfy your needs. We will surely book it again if we go back to Orleans.
Boutique hotel in the centre of Orleans next to the Loire. Nicely appointed with a breakfast room but not a full restaurant. Plenty of choice nearby however . Staff are super friendly
They had a garage available, a very nice and helpful lady at the reception speaking English very well. The hotel is located right at the center, without any noise overhead
Parking very convenient behind the hotel off the main street.
Breakfast was adequate - much the same as most of the places we stayed during our visit to France
