Chinchon is a wonderful city just south west of Madrid, there is a bus link to the city or you can drive in which takes approx 30 mins, the bull ring with bars and restaurants is a must see, sit outside with a beer and tapa and people watch to your hearts content, the buildings are so nice dating back to the 15th century, take a walk around this wonderful place, you won't be disappointed

The Parador was a converted convent with lovely gardens and pool. Our room was spacious and comfortable - great beds and shower. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We were staying one night only as we were travelling from Bilbao to the south of Spain.

Chinchón is a little and rather relaxed town - at least during the week. On weekends, many people from Madrid come here to enjoy some days out of the city. However, you'll find an authentic Spanish medieval city center and plaza here.
Moreover, Chinchón was a great starting point for our day trips with our rental car (Toledo, Alcalá de Henares, El Escorial, Aranjuez) before we went to the city center of Madrid.

We used this as a stopover on our way south from Santander. A lovely village that was full of character and at night the Plaza Mayor looks wonderful, all lit up and busy.
We wanted to see the Goya painting in the church but was told it wasn't open until 19:00 and as we left mid morning it wasn't a big deal.
I'd find it difficult to find things to do for a couple of days there but for a 1 day stopover it was just what we wanted - quiet, full of character and with history.

Chinchón is like stepping back in time.
Chinchón is like stepping back in time. This is just the place to come to get away from the hustle and bustle.
You can really imagine a completely different way of life as you walk the cobblestone streets.
This is traditional Spain.

Lovely place to amble around.
Lovely place to amble around. Plenty of restaurants right outside hotel. Beautiful parador across the road, nice for a drink but food disappointing.
The piazza was all set up for the fiesta & bull run later in month. Bought some 'fine garlic' from lovely old man stringing it up in shed on piazza. Must have been there for years.
Friendly people at the reception. We had to leave early in the morning since we needed to catch an early flight. We were too early for breakfast but the person in the dining room prepared a bag with some croissant, etc for us. Very kind. The hotel is located a few hundred meters from the beautiful Plaza Mayor. Opposite to the hotel is a bistro-restaurant. The waitress is so nice and friendly that you would go there for her only. And the terrace is a non-smoking area so really great for families with kids.
A comfortable, quiet room in an extremely well taken-care-of family-run property with a host who’s kind, personable, knowledgeable and eager for you to have the best stay possible. Perfect location just a couple of blocks from the Plaza Mayor. Excellent water-pressure in the shower and the a/c in the room worked well. Not luxurious (it’s classified as a Casa Rural (Rural House)), but super-clean, with a very comfortable bed; we were so happy to have stayed there.
Absolutely everything! the lovely host! the gleamingly clean suite, the antiques, the furniture, the bedroom fit for kings, a very spacious bathroom, the detail of the fruit basket and the coffee maker, the magical garden that we could see from the living room, the relaxing sound of the fountain, its fireplace and the peace that is breathed! Just perfect and exceptional customer service! I am looking fordward to coming back!
We booked the hotel at the last minute when we were in Chinchon, and the location is perfect. Literally seconds away from the Plaza Mayor where you can buy the most gorgeous food in a very unique setting. Around a bullring!! The oldest in Spain we were told. The hotel was super clean and comfortable. Didn't have breakfast, since there are so many other places around the hotel to eat.
Charming little town on the outskirts of Madrid. The hotel is right next to one of the most charming marketplaces in Castilla. Having supper in one of the tiny balconies along side the plaza is a must. The hotel is an old monastery filled with small art work. Excellent destination for a couple of days away from Madrid.
Amazing location. Large balcony. Clean and everything you needed for a short stay. Shower is low but my husband is 1m84 and managed perfectly well in it.
Note the access is round the back through an arch and not off the main plaza mayor!
There’s a black out blind - lights are left on in the plaza all night.
Very nice apartment that is set up to use the space very efficiently so is spacious. Bed was very comfortable. The location is great, literally just a few steps from Plaza Mayor. Can unload luggage right in front and park in a spacious, free lot very nearby. Lia was a very pleasant and helpful hostess.
The hostess was so friendly and incredibly kind! When she saw that I had just turned 50 the day before, she came back with a special bottle of local wine for us to enjoy. She was so kind! The apartment is fantastic, large, great balcony to sit and sip chinchon, and well appointed kitchen.
We loved the balcony overlooking the town’s main square/bullring. The room was spacious (we booked the spa tub suite) and had good A/C (essential in August). The checkin was easy and quick. The Wifi was good. Everything worked as it should.
Excellent room, lots of space, huge bed and lovely bathroom with great shower. Lots of lovely original features. Some superb communal areas. The Spa facilities were exceptional. Exclusive use for the hour - very good value for money.
Location is right on plaza with balcony view. 45 minutes by car from Madrid airport. Some nice restaurants within walking distance. Parking was free during our visit and we found a place right outside our hotel entrance.
Location was perfect for visiting the Plaza Mayor. Free Parking was available overnight at the Plaza, just steps from Casa Marquesa. Restaurants, pubs, were also steps away from this casa rural.
Lovely smallish hotel. Very nice rooms. Nice town. Excellent communication from hotel in advance of arrival. No complaints at all. Will stay there again.
