The property was clean and the room comfortable. I arrived late but the guardian was there to open the gate and assist with parking. It is convenient location near the airport. The room was clean and hot water in the shower. They do allow dogs so we stayed near the pool and there was a grassy area to walk our dog. Management was very accommodating. Breakfast is made-to-order. I would highly recommend to stay here! We felt safe and it was a bit like home.

Wonderful staff! Alex and Victor were very pleasant and helpful when we discovered that a teenager had left her phone on the plane. They tried several numbers and finally got through to a live person at the airline, and we got the phone back!
We left at 5 am and they packed “to go” breakfasts for us! Not a lot but got us onto our flight.

Restaurant next door had good sandwiches and wraps, reasonably priced. The chicken-avocado arepa was a hit.

I loved this hotel and will stay there again upon my return to the Galapagos Islands. It is the perfect rest spot between flights back and forth to the US. The hotel is perfectly beautiful. The staff was super nice and helpful. The beds were super comfy. The little pool and lounge area with a full bar, although tiny, was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. The room service was on time and delicious. I loved the buffet brunch served every day. It was spectacular. This was a great value for the money.

Currently, other than very specific areas, the vibe is not good. Security, soldiers and police abundant; and, lots of guns visible. Bars on EVERY storefront. Most stores you cannot enter; you ask for what you need and pay through the bars. And, with a curfew in effect, it’s weird to see absolutely empty streets when there are 3.2 million people living in the city! 😳

A beautiful, safe and welcoming city.
A beautiful, safe and welcoming city. People are nice and polite, the prices at restaurants are just fine and the transportation is easy to use and economic. Malecon 2000 was a really nice tour. Also you can find many gastronomic options and delicious dishes. We would definitely back there

It's a nice town!
It's a nice town! It's so nice to walk along the Malecón where you can find some cafes, children´s playground, parks, and the ferriswheel. I appreciate the free (and clean) bathrooms (though you have to pay a few cents for toilet paper - if the dispenser is not running out of it) and free power supplies to recharge your phone all over the place! (bring your charger) I arrived in Guayaquil at around 2 pm on a Friday and left at 7 pm on a Monday, so I had about 4 days, which I think a bit too long. I could have left on Sunday instead. Overall I felt safe but I do take precautions, keep my backpack in front of me, never put it down in public places, etc. El Cerro de Santa Ana is nice. There are only 440 steps to get to the Lighthouse las Peñas, which is cute. You can see some free roaming iguanas at el parque Seminario in front of the Cathedral. It has a small pond full of fish and turtle, some are endangered kinds. It´s quite entertaining. The park is not big though and it´s full of vendors selling stuff. Be careful, do not stand under a tree, you might get ´rained on´ by iguanas perching on a branch above you. I also walked around Malecón Salado but it was deserted (sad). I also visited Isla Santay. A long walk from the city crossing a pedestrian bridge to go over to the island then another 1.7 km boardwalk to arrive to the village. Not much to see there and the boardwalk is in a dire need of repair. There are lots of holes caused by damaged, broken woods so cycling is not recommended. I booked a tour to see bottled nose dolphins but was cancelled due to low number of participants.

I enjoyed my time.
I enjoyed my time. I was only on foot, so there are a few things I may have missed without traveling by car that I will visit next time.
I felt safe walking alone. I enjoyed the live music along the water (the water is not an attraction).
A unique hotel in the middle of Guayaquil. Everything is special (in a good way) about it: U-shaped, with a very nice pool and rest areas in the middle, just behind the cathedral, desks for working on each floor. The breakfast was excellent! The staff friendly, you can even play board games, snooker or ping pong on the terrace. Oh, last but not least: the best toilet paper I ever saw in Latin America, finally a thick 3-layers paper, and not the cheap super thin one you have to fold 4 time to avoid incidents.
This was a reasonably priced and well located hotel in the centre of Guayaquil that provided clean and comfortable accommodation. My room was spacious with efficient air conditioning, a comfortable bed and excellent wifi service. The shower had excellent water pressure along with plenty of hot water. The owners/managers of the hotel were courteous and very helpful and spoke some English. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Guayaquil.
The staff were extremely helpful and reliable. From the moment we landed at the airport we were in good hands. The pickup which was pre-arranged was so smooth. My friend had lost her case and yet the driver was so patient and waited for us. The hotel itself was spotless and very comfortable. The next morning, again went smoothly. We had an early start to the airport and the driver was there waiting for us, even though we were early.
The AC worked, it was close to the airport, the staff were nice. The building felt secure with key cards and the need to buzz in from off the street which I liked because I've read the neighborhood (all of Guayaquil really) is dangerous.
There are a few convenient stores very close by for water and snacks as well as at least two restaurants that were open later in the evening.
Hotel Palace is in a great location, you can walk to the Malecon in about 5 minutes. The hotel staff is very friendly and competent and speaks very good English, we felt very welcome and comfortable. The room is big and beds are very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very good, with a variety of breads, fruits, meats, cheeses, cereals and yoghurts and much more.
we spent one night in this hotel two times during our trip in Ecuador. In my opinion is it sufficient and nice hotel in very old house in 3th floor. We had really big and nice room with river view and big bathroom. Nice place near Malecón 2000 and street "9 de Octubre" with a lot of shops and restaurants. Hotel is in safe part of the city. We can reccomend.
Had towels and soap and air conditioner that worked well… had a little dresser that served as a table ..shelves to place our stuff…they gave us a complimentary bottle of water and spoons so we could eat the food we had purchased on our way to Guayaquil. Close to airport so not afraid some transportación conflict would cause us to miss our flight
Excellent experience at Guayaquil during Medical meeting Hotel, people ,facilites All profesional ,charming and cómitres to do our stay as best as imagines
To take into account and Congrats Sr Fernando Torres during breakfastz at eight Floor and happy hours He make our days fantástic.I will be back for sure abd I recomend
this is my go to hotel when flying out of Ecuador, this time around was much better than last time, much improved services ( I.e WiFi, cleanliness, a/c, ) also convenient for late or early flight departure since it’s practically across from airport. breakfast was also good as well as friendly staff.
The facilities were really good. The hotel and room was clean. The staff was nice . It is only a short ride to the airport/ bus station- which was perfect as we only needed a place for one night close to the airport. It has shops and restaurants around. I didn’t feel unsafe walking at night.
The Holiday Inn at Guayaquil Airport is ALWAYS terrific. We have stayed many times when traveling between Ecuador and the USA. Comfortable beds, a wonderful full breakfast (none of the "grab and go" stuff like in the USA nowadays), helpful and friendly staff ... it's great!
We spent 1 night in Guayaquil on the way to the Galapagos. The Holiday Inn is almost next door to the airport … the shuttle service takes less than 5 minutes. Convenient location for a layover. Nice pool area. Good on-site restaurant
It was a nice hotel in an area that felt safe for Guayaquil. The staff was really nice. Also I think we may have been upgraded because the room we received was much bigger than what we had been expecting. Overall had a really nice stay
Good location, clean room, clean bathroom, good amenities, good hot water ( although it’s very hot in Guayaquil that the cold water is really warm ), good host and safe neighborhood. Also the property is very close / near airport.
Unit and areas very well maintained close to mall and all the tourist area in downtown Guayaquil, the service is excellent very friendly and attentive. The hotel restaurant is amazing food, totally recommended!
Hotel in very safe area (somewhat important in Guayaquil). Spacious room and common areas. Comfortable bed. Nice food & drinks at hotel restaurant/bars. Friendly staff. Impressive massage services at the spa!
The firm bed, the spacious bedroom, the help in getting safe transportation from airport. Very friendlt and helpful customer service which was so important to us as newcomers to Ecuador and Guayaquil.
It was very clean and very comfortable. The staff was very courteous and helpful! The pool is beautiful! The hotel provided with free transportation from and to the airport.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and located near a beautiful mall which has everything available Shuttle to the airport. Fabulous restaurant and bar on the top floor
We like the location of the Grand Hotel Guayaquil. Staff was helpful. Restaurant and food very nice for lunch and breakfast. Pool lovely and room is nice.
