A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

Sokcho is a great city.
Sokcho is a great city. It is close to the national park, and the park is exceptional. The beach is nice. Public transit is clean and efficient. Taxis are readily available and clean/safe. Restaurants, cafes and market food options are unlimited.
The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.

Seoraksan National Park was nearby & have great hiking trails. Lotsa of attractions & attractions in the city. Plentiful seafood available. There’s also chicken Dalai which is stir fried chicken with assortment. Stayed for 2 nites. Maybe should have an additional nite to explore more 😀 I drove but you can walk around.
The hostel is in a amazing location just meters away from one of the bus stations and within walking distance from the market and beach.
The hostel in itself is very cozy/clean and it was easy to meet people there that I ended up hiking Seoraksan national park with and drinking beers/ talking with in the evening. The owner of the hostel is very kind, sweet and helpful and he makes tasty sandwiches for breakfast. I really enjoyed my time at the hostel and would recommend everyone who comes to sokcho to also stay there.
Chose this hotel because of the good location (near the local Sokcho market, view of the lake and also the Soraksan mountains)
The room was clean and had everything we needed. There is a convenience store on the first floor which is very convenient
We had a late night check in and with the smart key we received via email, had no problem checking in without any help from the hotel staff.
I recommend this hotel, for the price and quality of services it is one of the best in Sokcho
If you want to experience Seoraksan National Park to the maximum, this is a must stay. Even though the hotel is a bit outdated in style, it did not matter. The beds and linens were fantastic. The biggest standout was the breakfast buffet in the morning. So much choice; very high quality, and substantial enough to fuel a great day of exploring in Seoraksan. After visiting the area, I would still not book anywhere else. (We did have a rental car to come and go.)
Beautiful studio with a nice view and close to the Sokcho Express Bus Station as well as to the busses that go to the National Park. Awesome view over the beach from the balcony. Everything was sparkling clean, interior and building are very new. Especially enjoyed the small kitchenette to prepare breakfast and food. Close to a big supermarket and many convenient stores. Check-in very easy via pin code for the apartment. Extended my stay because I really liked the place.
Great hostel. Immaculately clean, and the bathroom for my private room was very modern. The common areas were nicely arranged, cozy and with a variety of places to sit both indoors and outdoors. The location was also good. We could easily catch buses from the express bus terminal to the hotel and also from the hotel to Seoraksan. Very quiet on a weeknight (and with tourism still limited due to COVID). Would definitely stay again.
It's located behind Sokcho intercity bus terminal - 3 minutes walking. Good air circulation on the bed room, a little bit bigger than what's shown on the picture. Room & toilet are clean. Just a reminder, there are 2 bus terminal in Sokcho, express terminal & intercity bus terminal. if you come from Seoul, buy the ticket on DongSeoul bus terminal first floor, the second floor is for ticket to express bus terminal.
Great location opposite the beach and a short walk from the express bus terminal. The deluxe double room was spacious, clean and had everything you need including: storage space, kettle, microwave, fridge, etc. There’s a 24h 7/11 store in the hotel and a lot of little restaurants close by. Great service as well, spoke English at the desk and stored luggage for the morning after check out. Highly recommended!
Location perfect to explore Seoraksan National Park. The host is wonderful and provided great tips on things to do and restaurant recommendations around the area. He met us close by when we had trouble locating the place on the day of arrival and also dropped us off at the Sokcho bus terminal when we checked out. A place I would indeed recommend and the host's hospitality makes this a truly wonderful stay.
The hosts are super friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Just perfect. They really helped us. The breakfasts were very tasty and delivered to the room door. We stayed 8 nights and there was always something to do. There are beautiful mountains in the Seoraksan park for hiking, beaches in walking distance and cool Sokcho town is really close too.
The hotel was located 300m from the beach and had plenty of restaurants and an Emart within walking distance. The room was very functional and comfortable. Parking was very secure with an elevator lift and code system to park and retrieve the vehicle. The Gelato Ice Cream across the street at the main intersection was superb! Easy access to routes to downtown and Seoraksan National Park.
The couple that runs The Blue Door are the nicest, most hospitable pair. Good English is spoken. Very kind and accommodating. Their dog Barry, a very friendly black lab, is an extra attraction. The location near the beach and near the Sokcho boardwalk is great. My single room was big enough for one person and very clean and comfortable.
The location is rather isolated, but right on the beach. It is was a great point to visit Seorak National Park, Goseong-gun (Unification Observatory and DMZ Museum), and Sokcho. We also enjoyed the convenience of having a small kitchenette and of course, the complimentary fruit basket upon check-in was a wonderful surprise.
Very kind and friendly host who was very accommodating. Breakfast was simple and delicous: Toast, cereal, coffee. Room was clean and shower was hot. It is a great location next to Seoraksan National Park. The bus Stop Sokcho District C is right next to the hotel/hostel and about 15 min from the park entrance.
We had a great day at Story House! The rooms were clean and spacious, the breakfast was filling and the host was very friendly! The location is close to the Harbour and from the Express Bus Terminal it takes about 20-30min by bus to get to the property! Overall, it was very nice and adequate for the price!
The location is fantastic for visiting and hiking the mountain. It’s close to Sokcho as well, so if you need to get to town, it’s 10min away by car. We visited during winter, the rooms were warm and cozy and the scenery all around spectacular.
The staff were really friendly and looked after our luggage before check in. The hotel is in a good location right by the bus terminal and also next to a bus stop to Seoraksan. Wifi worked well and overall good value for money.
- Beautiful view from the window. You could see the sea and Sokcho Eye
- Everything you need is in the room. All the utensils, towels etc. There is even coffee machine with sample coffee capsules
- Close to the bus terminal
Couldn’t be better. Good location to reach many points like National Park, Traditional Market, etc. Very good money value for modern and high tech facilities.
Strong recommendation for travelers to Mt Sorak and Sokcho.
The property is beautiful with easy access to stairs down to the beach, walkways, and fresh fish restaurants. The beach view is beautiful from the hotel rooms.
