Hotel was clean. A little tired looking. Decor was out dated and a bit worn.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly.
We enjoyed the in house restaurant for breakfast. It was tasty food and affordable.
The location was central to everything and easy to get around Sydney.

The hotel is lovely, and the rooms are large, modern, clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the location right on the water, and the restaurant and gym are both very good.

Sydney will never be what it was back in the 50 and 60s., with the
Steel Plant, fishing and the closing of the coal mines in the area but
if you have lived here in the past you can still enjoy the scenery.

Dominion beach was the best beach out of the few i went to it was very long to accommodate many people, it had plenty of sand for the little ones, it was quite cold but not much worse than many other bodies of water.
Fortress of louisburg was pretty interesting just be sure to pack your own snacks and drinks as their food and drinks are extremely overpriced, it is chilly to start (on a 21C day) but gets quite warm once walking around and if you can avoid bringing a stroller it will be much easier to get around.
Two rivers wildlife park was a good spot to check out the animals, good luck seeing the moose but worth the trip, the canteen is reasonably priced with a good variety of fried foods to choose from which were very delicious.
Many of the tourist spots are pretty far away so we did not get to tour many places such as fundy bay to see the tides or the cabot trail or lunenberg because it is a lot of driving and we drove to cape breton from southern ontario.
Make sure to keep your plastic bottles because you pay deposits at the grocery stores!
It is a little bit more of an expensive place to travel to but the ocean views, sunsets and the amazing friendliness of the locals makes it worth it all in the end.

Cape Breton is a lovely place but a huge price-gouging tourist trap. Lots of places haven't recovered from COVID so many places were either closed or short-staffed. The weather is getting crazy too.
Booking.com was the biggest pain in the ass. In a number of situations, they were confusing, unhelpful, and useless. Far better to call the motel directly and avoid this European-owned and operated app.

Excellent place to visit, so much to do.
Excellent place to visit, so much to do. We ended up staying at North Sidney at the "Hotel North" Excellent location, very clean rooms, right at the Newfoundland Ferry launch. Excellent restaurant and close to plenty of amenities.
Sorry but we didn't make it for a breakfast, it was during Christmas and the hours of operation varied with out sleeping
habits and visitations to relatives. Hoping to get back there again in the summer but when you are over the 80 mark you
never know what can occur during the next several months. Nice quiet atmosphere .Food at our one only visit to the
dining area was excellent. We are not the best stair climbers and taxi drivers are not the most hopeful, we were moved
from the upper floor to the lower floor, nice gester.
Very friendly, funny, and welcoming staff - the front desk employees and cleaning personnel were all very personable.
This is the first hotel I've stayed in where I didn't have to call for more towels - plenty are provided. Lots of shampoo/body wash vs the little one-time use bottles you find at most other properties.
The pillows are heaven!
The self-serve coffee/tea/ hot chocolate bar in lobby was so nice
The owners were fantastic, super friendly and very welcoming. I overnighted here because I was too tired to do a 5hr drive back home but I must say the room was exceptionally clean, the hosts were very friendly and welcoming and whenever I'm in Sydney again I'll definitely stay there. Very good value for money but dont drive too fast else you'd miss this hidden gem.
Stayed one night for our anniversary. A very nice stay - friendly staff, easy check in. An older building, the floors are on a bit of an angle but the place is very well maintained and very clean... a lot like staying in your Granny's house. I would certainly recommend it over the chain hotels, as it has charm and is comfy and clean. Excellent location as well.
Specially location is very good, near to downtown, high way and necessities. We enjoyed the Breakfast.
Customer service was A1. Hotel always very clean. Rates were very attractive.
On call room service was excellent. No car parking problem.
Please keep up same and best services in future.
Not much. It was so bad, we didn't stay there.
The hotel was sold in 2022. The new owner is a disaster.
Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.
If you're interested in the breakfast, don't bother - cheap fruit and pastries.
Everything was great, and the service desk assistant, has awesome customer service, he made us feel welcomed into the hotel, the pool was awesome too, great palce! when We come back we definitely will be staying here again :)
The Holiday Inn Sydney Waterfront is a great place to stay. The staff are so friendly and happy to help in any way. The location is very well situated for access to restaurants and facilities. I really enjoyed my stay there.
We only stayed here because we had been in a vehicle accident and needed a room for the night. There was not another room available in Sydney due to Fiona and a festival.
It was not a planned stop on our trip
The staff were amazing. The hotel a little dated, but clean. Breakfast was very good especially for one included in price. Definitely worth the money. Would recommend this place.
Walkable to a variety of restaurants, we could see the giant fiddle from our room, friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable room, self-service laundry in hotel
