Been going to Whitby for years, always enjoy it. There's plenty to do and see, the museum in Pannett Park is well worth a visit, but allow most of the day, it's got everything from dinosaur fossils to matchbox cars. The Abbey is dear for what it is, I went 60 years ago when it was free, I wouldn't pay to go in unless you're really interested in that stuff. However, across from the Abbey is Whitby brewery, so you can have a pint while sitting and looking at the Abbey. Much better option imo. A good place to eat is Trenchers fish restaurant and the Ship Inn is my favourite pub

A combination of a lot of things, the history, the beach, the pubs , the location... these are all good things. Wetherspoons and the little Angel pub are favourites of ours.
The negative are, things can be a little bit pricy. Not all the fish and chip shops are good.

We love Whitby and keep coming back.
We love Whitby and keep coming back.
Of course there is the link for Goth and Steampunk weekends, our main reason for revisiting, but the town, sites, people and the Abbey are there all year round - well worth a visit at any time of year. Oh, and don't forget about Dracula...
Resolution should take pride in their staff. Their reception lady went out of her way to get my parking tickets sorted. Full marks. The staff at the restaurant and other reception staff were courteous and helpful. Room was clean and facilities were amply provided and replenished - be it tea/coffee, ironing board, towels etc. Breakfast and dinner were ok with fantastic ambience at the Vault. Hotel location is 5-10 mins walk to the harbour from where its easy access to all main attractions to Whitby.
Greatocatio for peace and quiet, not far to Whitby itself. Room. Very nice, strange lumpy mattress. Great views of the garden and visiting deer coming for the fallen apples.
Restaurant food OK messed up food order sides arrivedcafter mains. Wine very over priced for a standard sauvignon. Charlie waitress very friendly but made a mistake and I was over charged £80. Hotel quickly resolved on calling them. Hopefully a one off. Didn't visit the spa but looked good in the broucher.
The room was spacious and comfy. Well provided for in terms of tea, coffee etc too. Exceedingly clean and well presented. The staff were amazing and had all the little extra touches to make things special. The hotel itself is really bright and airy, a nice place to be in. The food was very nice with a different menu each day, good choices for everyone and all of great taste and presentation. I stayed here for work and would definitely come back when I'm next in Whitby.
Having read some reviews, we were a little wary. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a brilliant location, with views across Whitby and right in front of the whalebone arch. Our room was very clean, comfortable and a good size. We opted for the sea view room and loved the views. There was a lovely lounge area to sit and have drinks, as well as an outdoor area. They were very dog friendly which was a great bonus.
This was an impressive holiday home near the centre of Whitby. There is an abundance of space to relax and enjoy this truly smartly dressed home, with a convenient private drive/parking space right outside the front door. The lovely enclosed garden was a perfect sun trap for some alfresco dining. Plus the added bonus of a sumptuous soak in the hot-tub after a long walk in town. Perfect in every way!
Excellent location in a back street of Whitby just 20 seconds to the harbour front. Despite being so close to the harbour front, it was very quiet at the property for the most part. I was pleased with the value for money considering my stay was during a bank holiday weekend with excellent weather. Though a small property, there was enough space for 4 adults. Free parking permits were provided.
Spectacular view of Whitby - the steps, the ruined abbey, the town, the harbour, the beach, the sea… wow!
I was lucky enough to find a brilliant pizzeria a few hundred yards away for my evening meal - Pizza West https://www.pizzawest.co.uk/ - which had friendly, welcoming staff, stylish decor and great food.
Breakfast at the hotel was good.
Room was comfortable and tv worked
The location is brilliant, only a ten minute walk into Robin Hood's Bay. The hotel is on a good bus route with buses every 30 minutes into Whitby and Scarborough. The breakfast is very good with locally sought produce. Good choice on the menu. The bar food is very good also, serving meals till 9.00pm. The staff are lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Fraser's was immaculately clean with everything you could possibly need. Kitchen and bathroom were spacious, as were the bedrooms They even supplied a welcome pack to get you started. Free parking was just outside Communication was clear and Richard was easily contactable. Would definitely return if staying in Whitby.
Staff friendly and efficient food and bar very good. location a convenient short bus ride to centre and harbour with bus stop at door and short walk to supermarket. The car park is big enough with wide spaces. I was very happy with our stay and pleased with my choice of this property. Many thanks to all the staff.
Probably the quirkiest location we’ve ever stayed in, absolutely fabulous. Even though you’re smack bang in the middle of the harbour it still felt really tranquil. From the outside it doesn’t look big, but the layout inside is well conceived and feels roomy. Just a lovely space.
Breakfast was perfect, room was clean, spacious and had exceptional views, location fantastic, hosts welcoming and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Whitby. Perfect weekend break.
It was a self-catering, two-bedroom flat in a secure building within a few minutes' walking distance of Whitby town centre and harbour. The flat came with an underground parking space for the car.
Excellent hotel set in an idyllic location, only a short drive from Whitby Harbour. The room had great facilities, was very clean and breakfast was delicious, and included in the price!
Loved whitby, loved the location of the angel hotel, but it has come very dated and is much over priced. it is charging 4 star prices which is more like 2 star
Located opposite beach. A short walk from Whitby harbour. Spotlessly clean hotel and room. Great breakfast. Very friendly hosts. Will definitely recommend.
