The staff were very attentive and helpful and the decor in hotel was modern and comfortable. I liked the free coffee machine in the shared space and the washing facilities were useful. There is a nice walk up to the crater of Mount Kannabe just behind the hotel.

We liked that this property had very clean and quiet facilities. It was a great traditional experience with a friendly staff member and everything needed. We liked that their was parking available for an additional 800 yen. Some places out in town were more expensive. There was a Lawson across the
street which was convenient. The room was comfortable and it was nice having towels to use at the Onsen.

The town is really cute with lots of great shops and the onsen at the hotel was super relaxing. There were a lot of children at the public onsen so we decided to skip most of them and felt the one night we stayed was enough

Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town.
Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town. After spending a week running around cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, it was nice to unwind in a small town that was very self-contained but also had some nice outdoor activities like exploring Mt. Daishi, in addition to the 7 public baths.

If you love onsens and seafood, this is the perfect place to go unwind and dine. Kinosaki Onsen is a small, photogenic town that feels more like a neighborhood. There are many kinds of restaurants, but especially crab seems to be the hit here, with shops that sell them right out on the street.
Tip: a few websites offer real-time percentages of how busy any onsen in the area is.

we stayed at Yamamotoya Ryokan, Kinosaki Onsen for one night which was too short.
overall Kinosaki Onsen is a gem of a village. It is picture perfect and with lots of "protected" traditional Japanese wooden frame homes.
You travel back in time ! old houses, people on yukatas and clogs, a small stream passes thru the middle of town with willow trees. few vehicles and few locals on roads, a typical tourist village.
The best time to enjoy the atmosphere and ambience - dusk. Esp with the street lights and lights from the roadside buildings
My Ryokan is fantatstic - we visited during shoulder season and prices were great. Will come again in autumm 2024. there are extra costs to be paid for public onsen but well worth.
Tried 4 public onsen which was awesome - cave onsen, outdoor onsen facing a mountain stream, outdoor onsen. The morning public bath was less busy with few users while the evening baths was very busy, My choice of onsen was Gohsonronyu, outdoor facing a trees and mountain stream and the cave onsen. kinosaki is technically an ONSEN village.
we dropped our luggage to be delivered to hotel opposite the train station. went exploring the village and used the cable car to offer prayers to the village onsen guardian. everywhere is within walking distance

Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in.
Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in. However, it can get a bit touristy during some months. We went in September which is considered the low season, yet we felt that there were too many people around. However =, it is still the best onsen town in the Kansai region.
There was no parking area in/near the hotel. The staff helped us to park at an area rather far away when we reached hence we were confused and very concerned. It was stated in the website that parking was available. When we wanted to drive out the same night we arrived, the staff fetched us to the car park where our car was. We were relieved thereafter - and happy with the transport service offered to and from the car park area.
I loved the beautiful room and garden was so beautiful. Staff was very polite too exceptes à girl with blond hair who checked out me. I dont know if she was stressed as maybe new? Or if she was just not friendly.. Also the city was beautiful with blossom flower day and night and tourist shop and coffee.
I used the 1h30 private bath in their sister hotel which was incredible with a beautiful view of the nature!
The staffs treat us guests like the king and queen, especially Ayuri.
The hotel interior is lovely, the reception area feels very modern, but once we step into our Japanese style room, we instantly feels like we were thrown back to the past. They have 3 onsen rooms and they’re all have different vibes. The Tajima beef dinner and also the crabs dinner was amazing with 10 course! Breakfast also very thoughtful!
The ryokan is in the center of the city
The room was big and cosy.
But most important was the owner, so welcoming, organizing a tea ceremony with is mom, driving you to the station, always there to help.
The kimono that you can use are also beautiful.
The bath in the hotel are great and I add a delicious traditional breakfast.
I loved every moment there.
Excellent hotel with great amenities -- like the Lounge with free coffee, beer and snacks open much of the day. Free massage chairs adjacent to the well designed lobby with a river view. It is about a 5 minute walk in to the town. The onsens are well appointed with various shampoos, lotions, razors, etc. Excellent selection at breakfast and dinner buffets.
Such a lovely place and host. She picked us up at our previous hotel and was very helpful all the way. She lent us some bikes so we could explore Kinosaki and even made breakfast for us! The area is so beautiful and we hiked up a mountain which our host recommended. It does indeed live up to its name. Absolutely recommended! Thank you for accomodating us:)
The hotel, the staff, and the meals were all amazing. Our group only knew a little bit of Japanese but every employee we met took the time to talk to us, and answer questions whether they had much English or not. It made us feel very welcome! The traditional breakfast and dinner were an experience, as well as being delicious.
The staff is extremely welcoming, very friendly, they have a translating device for any language barrier.
I loved the driver who drove us from and to the hotel.
And my favourite memory is the staff who bid us farewell everytime we headed to the town with the driver. The hotel felt like another family
Old ryokan in center of kinosaki onsen
Location is the best. You can access all 7 onsen within walking distance from hotel
My room has toilets but no bathroom but one of the onsen is 5 steps from hotel
They also have parking but limit time use
Beautiful ryokan experience. The onsen within the hotel was wonderful. Hotel also provided the onsen pass to access the different onsen facilities at Kinosaki onsen with shuttle bus service. The shuttle bus transfer is prompt and convenient.
Even if the hotel looks a bit old and trying to look modern on the outside, the room was spacious, super clean, very charming and comfortable. The staff is great, going the distance to help. The onsen is good yet needs a good scrub.
Great staff especially Nakao San. Good touch to provide a special room for guests to take photographs with traditional Japanese gowns which are provided FOC by the hotel. The meals are meticulously prepared and tasted fantastic.
Beautiful room. Cozy onsen that opens early and stays open late. Breakfast and Dinner were amazing and so delicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a traditional Ryokan experience in Kinosaki Onsen!
The lobby has the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen. The hotel offers complimentary drinks every day. Free bicycle to get around. There are beautiful trail to walk around. The hotel staffs are friendly and welcoming.
The hotel assigned English speaking staff during check-in time, this is very appreciated.
The bed, pillows & blanket are very comfy.
Providing 2 pillows is exceptional compared to other hotels.
We loved the stay! It was very cozy and the staff was attentive. We are English speaking and had no problem figuring the hotel out. We loved the massage chairs!
