I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this place. Although the pictures are very accurate, I felt that everything was better in person. Each unit is pretty private and has a nice ground level terrace, perfect for relaxing. The room was really clean and the overall environment tranquil. We also felt safe here, as there is someone always on guard and also cleaning the property.
In addition, I enjoyed the beach setup with beds and cushions with covers! The welcome smoothie still goes down as one of the best that I had during my holiday.

Great location for sea-lovers. Many opportunities for snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and whale/dolphin watching. Boat riding is available in both calm and rough waters with beautiful landscapes. To get the best experience, should spend at least 2 - 3 nights. There are options for a lively and exciting atmosphere, adventurous experiences, and also for relaxation at the calm and quiet beachside. Old Cemetery was well maintained and the grounds keeper let us know where the two graves of the Australian's were. I travelled with my father and he likes war history so we checked it out.
The fort and the temple at the top of the hill from the fort was good. Great views of the beach ane cliffs.
The Maritime and Navel History museum was ok for 100 rupees and something to do. You can go onto the roof to get a view of your surrounding. The people there were nice and helpful. I didn't see the other museums.
Pickme worked here but was a bit more expensive.
I didn't go to the beaches but I heard they were a bit average.
I had some issues finding a place to eat. Both restaurants that had good reviews that I wanted to go to were blasting music (Seafood club and Island Flavours). Not my vibe.
I stayed a night on my way to Jaffna. It was good to check out the east coast but a night or two is enough.

Okay thats difficult but I had a total different idea about trincomalee. I thought it would be smaller, less Busy and somehow more tranquil. I know it's hart to jugde a place by expecations ....but I Expectet something that has more touristvibes. I went there in Dezember so not the best time to go ..but I had the feeling of beeing the only tourist. I could not find mutch nice restaurants, that are createt with an eye for beauty and a bid cozyness. Trincomalee Beach is full of Fisherboats, thats pretty but to be the only tourist plus female let me skip the Idea of an beachday. So if u kow Sigirya or pai ( in Thailand ) and u expect something similar ( like I did) then no,I could not find that. If u are Looking for a more Real and local beach and town, then I guess it's the right place to go.

It's all about the beach - among the best in the world.
It's all about the beach - among the best in the world. Beautiful coral sand. A gradual slowly increasing water depth allowing you to walk out gradually for about 35 metres. Clear clean water (Sept.-Oct.). Trincomalee town is much like others in Sri Lanka - worth a visit, but maybe just once. Two main beaches: Uppavelli (close to town, with lots of good food options). Nillavelli (further north, good if you want more isolation, fewer food options, a substantial tuk-tuk ride to town.

Trincomalee is one of the best places in Sri Lanka.
Trincomalee is one of the best places in Sri Lanka. Snorkelling is fantastic and the town has a Indian feeling. I stayed in Uppuveli where there is a great cafe on the beach..cafe on the 18th. Recommend eating at restaurants: Rice and Curry, ubay, Nina.
Hotel located in few km away from town in Nilaweli road, very easy to find. Hotel environment is fantastic, every where beautiful flower plants. There is a good benefit to reach Trinco beach through their other JAKB BEACH HOTEL. Breakfast is very good in all days(not a buffet-due to less guests).Hotel Manager was very friendly and helpful. Hotel family room very good and A/C was well functioning. All the days fresh towel and tea making items supplied with out fail. Thank for all staff members ,we will reach again in near future.
Beautiful property, two minutes from beach with a terrific and attentive staff. Very clean and management immediately response to any concerns. Very good restaurant on site with outside alternatives close by but all have very similar menu so really no need to go. Breakfasts were a great value and very tasty. Grocery store tor snacks and toiletries nearby on main road. Lovely clean beach just steps away, plus a very clean pool onsite. You can use loungers belonging to restaurant on beach for the price of a drink. Very swimmable.
Me and my sister send our parents to Trincomalee. ( parents don’t speak English).
Elegant green beach resort was our first option.
The staff were helpful with informations. They sent us details about hotel, restaurant, beach before their staying in the resort. The resort had great vibe. Accommodation was clean and the service of customers was on high level. Food in restaurant was delicious. Owner and managers took great care of our parents.
Message from my father : Dobre
THANK YOU SO MUCH and we can recommend this resort.
The property is right on the beach. With the calm seas, it was like having a big pool.
It also has a restaurant and also few restaurants along the beach. There are also 5 star hotels within walking distance.
The food at the restaurant was simple and tasty.
There is also mini supermarket at the top of the road.
The property also has a diving centre, if you fancy a bit of diving or snorkelling.
The manager Dilan was very helpful.
The divemaster Upekha was also honest with his recommendations.
Close to the beach and a few smaller food stalls but far enough from the gentrified beachside hotels for russians next door. The room offers a bed and a decent shower and pretty much nothing else. WIFI sometimes worked but otherwise was unstable most of the time. Ceiling had a lot of cobwebs and the whole place was dusty and unclean. Very pleasant interaction with the staff however they just sit outside all day while there are rooms to be prepared for the coming guests.
The location is in the beach which is relatively clean. It’s nice to watch the fishing boats early in the morning and evening. Nice sunrise, also lots of fish around the Rocky point which you can walk too. You can rent snorkeling gear from them at a reasonable price and there is no need for a tour. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The staff uncle and Moses were friendly and accommodating trying to make the stay good.
the hotel stuff was so nice and helpful with everything we needed. The room was clean and the breakfast had a variety of choices. The hotel manager and the other stuff were extremely sensitive to our situation in Israel and tried to do anything in their power to make us feel better and protected. We are highly recommending this hotel and surly be back when we’ll be in Sri Lanka.
Staff was very attentive and eager to fulfill every wish we could possibly think of. Food was delicious, Bungalows and garden areal as well as the beach were amazing. Furthermore we fell in love with the small dog "Samba" who came and greated us whenever we stepped a foot our of our front door or came home from a daytrip :)
One of the best coffees we had on Sri Lanka!
I loved this little hotel. Super clean super comfortable and staff and owner really friendly and helpful.
When I return to Trincomalee town, this is where I will be staying again. It's in a great location and walking distance to all the major sites and beaches as well as the bus station. In fact I stayed longer than intended because it was so nice.
The hosts are super nice and helpful 24/7! That’s made our stay pleasant and comfortable.
Room was good, with panoramic windows and balcony, bed with orthopedic mattress, bathroom is also ok. The price is very good for that hotel 👍
If something is not working properly you should just say, they will fix it.
Great design with the best bathroom of our whole trip. Our host was very welcoming and helpful. It’s just a few minutes walk away to the beach where you can find a great cafe and bar as well as relax next to the sea. We walked along the beach into Trincomalee too from here.
Excellent location of the hotel, 5 minutes to a private beach with comfortable sunbeds and beautiful umbrellas. The staff is friendly. The hotel is very comfortable. European level. An excellent union of price and quality.. perhaps the best for this money in Trincomalee.
The Trinco Blu is one of our favorite hotels during our Sri Lanka tour.
The location of the hotel is amazing, directly at the Uppuveli beach. The staff is excellent and very helpful.
The room is clean with a beautiful interior.
Unfortunately, we only stayed one night.
I think this is the most wonderful hotel in Trincomalee. The hotel is just close to the beach and sea view is superb. Rooms are clean and spotlessly clear. Specially the host is very kind and supportive. We wish to come again. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
Central location by the bus stop, good local restaurants, and the cargills grocery store - spacious rooms, clean - nice owners who care about the well-being of their guests - easy to rent bikes nearby and access the various beaches in Trincomalee
Mr. Jacob and his wife was very friendly and quickly responded for the requests. It is not much easy to find a hotel at this budget in this area. Highly recommended for staying.
