The hotel was modern and clean. Everything I requested for my room was provided. It was close to the ferry port, bus stops and train stations and to many shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful and sent a taxi when I requested (I arrived later than expected and could not find one). They also advised me what to see and do when the tour I had booked was cancelled. There were many choices for breakfast and the staff there were also friendly, efficient and helpful. As a dog lover the gorgeous dog, who was sometimes in reception, was a bonus.

Fair and nice breakfast, friendly staff and good price
Olbia is all about the sea, and what a glorious turquoise sea it is. As the gateway to Sardinia’s stunning Emerald Coast, this down-to-earth town is often overlooked in favour of the more glamorous resorts. However, it does have attractions of its own.
The simple Basilica of San Simplicio dates to the 11th century and the Church of St Paul the Apostle is also medieval. The National Archaeology Museum houses Roman ships, as well as prehistoric artefacts from the surrounding area.
Sardinia has a wealth of prehistoric structures and one of these – the Tomba dei Giganti Su Monte‘e S’Abe – is near Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport and medieval Pedres Castle. Across the bay is Sa Testa Sacred Well, dating to at least 1200 BC.
Along the coast in Pittulongu are the real attractions – fantastic, unspoilt beaches from where you can see rocky Tavolara Island, a popular diving site. In summer, boats sail there from Isola Bianca Harbour, the arrival point of ferries from the Italian mainland. The harbour’s fishing boats are responsible for the fantastic mussels in Olbia’s seafood restaurants, some of which are amid bars and shops on Corso Umberto – the locals’ favourite passeggiata spot.
The Olbia accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury spa hotels, apartments near the beach and cheap B&Bs.
This Apartment is right in the centre
of Olbia, overlooking the Water Front

Olbia is a practical town to stay in because you can travel by bus or car to Sardinia’s top attractions. There is a lot of action on the Corso Umberto and surroundings but overall I found only a few good places to eat. The airport is close and easy to reach via public transportation. All in all I would recommend it as a place where you spend the night but you plan your day to day visiting the amazing beaches and hikes.

If you are travelling around northern Sardinia then I would recommend a visit to Alghero rather than Olbia.
There are very few places of interest in Olbia and the traffic network is very hard to negotiate with confusing signage in many parts.

A trip to Olbia felt like visiting the 'real' Italy.
A trip to Olbia felt like visiting the 'real' Italy. Tourists per se are not specially catered for, although there are tours of La Maddalena from Palau, dolphin spotting etc.
But what you do get is a warm welcome from local people.
Lively bars, but not thumping clubs.
- and the food is amazing, with a particular focus on local delicacies as well as fresh fish and seafood.
Easy to get to local beaches (Bados and Pittulongu) which have beach bars. plenty of loungers and parasols to hire for the day. Turquoise waters, sandy beaches.

Olbia is awesome, there are so so many restaurants to choose from we went to a different one most nights when not at the hotel.
People are lovely and friendly - a really good atmosphere in the main town.
Felt safe and happy when away from the hotel
1) Hotel location - 15 minutes walking to downtown, airport reachable by Bus N° 2 (Bus stop_Centro Martini & walk 5 minutes and voilá). No noisy at all, which is a plus as I like quiet environments to sleep peacefully. 2) Beach nearby, there is a bus stop N° 4 in Via dei Lidi that takes you to the nearest beaches. 3) Change of room. I have an issue with the main room door but they kindly changed rooms without hassle. 4) Price/Quality. 5) Kiosk. There was a grocery store where you could buy bread, fruits, water, etc.
This place is amazing. First of all, the hosts are really nice, helpful and responsive people. They allowed us to leave the baggage before the check in. There's a nice bar downstairs which is owned by the same people as hotel, we ate a delicious breakfast there.
Location is also perfect, it's in the central part of Olbia, bars and restaurants are nearby.
The room itself is good too, it was clean, and with air conditioning.
Highly recommended!
The apartment is in an excellent location and you have a short work to local bars, restaurants and architecture. Our bed was changed daily and fresh towels provided which was wonderful.
My partner and I hired a car which is recommend for this part of Sardinia as everything is spread out, in a short drive we came across the most stunning beach Cala Brandinchi - highly recommend both the beach and the apartment.
The members that work at Hôtel Terranova are really kind and thoughtful. They were all very caring and always smiling which make the staying even more enjoyable. The breakfast was really good, with Italian pastries.
The hotel is located 3-5 minutes walk from Olbia station. it's well located in the center of the city.
Rooms have AC also which is a plus when there's a heatwave.
i would definitely come back 😊
The staff were so friendly and helpful.
The location was perfect, it is round the corner from the main street so everything is in walking distance.
Loved the omelet at breakfast!
We had the rooms with the terraces which was perfect to sit In the evening as the hotel does not have a bar.
You can hire beach towels here as well for 3 euros per towel - ideal when you are limited on luggage space.
Close to the beach, quiet location, clean with everything you need, with kitchen, garden, parasol for the beach, bike available, coffee shop 2 mins walk, restaurants in the area, local shop 5 mins walk, close to Costa Smeralda, 8 mins drive from Olbia, 25 mins drive from Porto Cervo or Porto Rotondo, very friendly and helful host, books with Sardinian beaches available (we loved our stay)
Wonderful host and couldn't do enough to help us when we were totally stuck for a taxi the following morning, driving us up the coast to Portisco. (Watch out for this issue with taxis in Olbia, we'd already had to resort to walking 40 mins late at night from the airport due to no taxis).
Breakfast was basic but totally fine and enjoyed in a very clean and comfortable outside space.
We had a pleasant stay in Olbia at La Casa di Pier. The host Guiseppe is very friendly and caring. We had a nice room which was very comfortable. There is a decent breakfast every morning. The location is perfect: a 1 minute walk from the bus and trainstation, so you can easily travel to all beaches around by public transport. You can also walk to the centre of Olbia in 5 minutes.
The room was amazing! Location is great for shops/airport (we walked to the airport in 10 mins). Location is also good for Olbia and Beaches but would recommend a car. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and all staff were really nice and helpful. Breakfast was also fantastic. Our room had a great terrace and really fancy bathroom and nice view.
Small and cozy hotel steps from the beautiful beach. Great if you’re looking for family atmosphere and relaxation, but if you want entertainment you’d be better off in a different place as there’s not much going on in the area. Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Close to a bus stop that takes you directly to Olbia city center.
Pool was amazing, water was warm enough. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were super clean. The location is very good, not far from Olbia, beach is 5min by car. There is also a hotel bus, that can take you to the beach. Sun beds are very expensive in the peak season, but hotel provides a discount for guests.
great stay. very comfortable beds, great breakfast at the lovely garden, very kind owners. the owner asked us what we like for breakfast and they prepared everthing for us. for the beach the owner offered us umbrellas and towels. very happy with our stay and we would come back if we are in Sardinia again.
This place is awesome and we had great four days here! Directly to the beach, modern & lovely. Everything is completely new and clean! It was our first stop at Sardinia and we appreciate all recommendations from our lovely contact Laura! Very helpful, thank you so much!
The property was super cute and the host was soooo kind and generous. We found ourselves stranded and she picked us up and also drove us to the airport the next day. If you have a car I 100% recommend this spot for your stay in Olbia.
Hotel is modern and has a good location. The drying rack available in the room was very useful for drying clothes after going to the beach. The hotel staff was also very helpful and responds fast via the Booking app.
The location is pretty good which is close to the beach. And the view at the hotel roof is perfect especially in the morning. They provide the beach towel and change everyday. We had a very good time there.
- Amazing view with a really nice pool
- Bus stop just in front of the hotel so really practical to go to town
- quiet area and nice property
- in between olbia city and the areas with the beaches
Location was spot on : Restaurants minutes away in the town . Staff super nice polite and attentive better than other hotels been in Sardinia. Short stay for the airport very convenient.
The general area is nice, close to the beach, close enough but not too close to the town, and not far from Olbia's airport.
It is also quiet and has a very nice beach restaurant.
