We stayed one night following a cruise. The hotel was exceptional - we arrived earlier than expected and Ana was very welcoming and asked us to wait until our rooms were ready - less than an hour. The room is a huge contrast to the exterior impression. While the hotel outside looks like a typical Italian neighborhood, the room is very modern! The bathroom is well equipped, and the room is almost brand new. Bad is very comfortable and air condition works great. This is not a 2-star hotel – it’s a 4-star hotel!! Above all is Ana – she is very helpful, suggested local restaurants and came specially for us the next morning to serve us coffee before our departure at 6:45 am. We highly recommend this hotel either before or after a cruise, but also to visit a very authentic Italian neighborhood in the hotel surrounding area.

The location and nearby facilities are excellent, especially for pre/post cruise passengers. The free shuttle from the port is a 2 minute walk.

Hotel San Giorgio is just a few steps from the port and the station, right on the seafront in Civitavecchia. Rooms are modern with WiFi access and LCD satellite TVs.
Very convenient for the station and cruise terminal
Beautiful and quiet town. Everything within walking distance. Favorite place for quick bite was Mastro Titta Pizza within two blocks of Airbnb.
I would recommend staying longer as there is much to do it Civitavecchia. We missed walking along the Harbor, visiting Fort Michaelangelo, and the beaches.
We read about direct Shuttles to the Airport, none were available the day we left because no cruise ships were arriving in Port. Car Service was expensive. We ended up taking the Train, which was not as convenient but not bad at all and at a fraction of the cost!

The hotel is an outstanding location for pre-cruise travellers as the location is just a few steps away from Largo della Pace where cruisers pick up the free shuttle to the cruise terminal. Just roll your luggages along the sidewalk then across the street onto the ramp towards area where the shuttle awaits.

Small city. Older buildings and infrastructure.
Small city. Older buildings and infrastructure. Uneven paved sidewalks, some graffiti but seemed very safe. Just an older Italian town that’s packed fairly tight. Lots of dining options, but hours are different from what Americans are used to.

We did not stay long enough to get to know it well enough...
We did not stay long enough to get to know it well enough but what I saw was great. I would advise anyone travelling to a hotel in town and coming off the Barcelona ferry not to use the Sat Nav until well into the centre. It is likely to take you through the port to a controlled gate which you will not be allowed to pass and you will be sent back. Just follow signs to the centre then switch on Sat Nav when well clear of the port.
It"s a charming little hotel off the beaten path in this busy port town. It's just what we needed. The facility was clean, the staff was friendly and eager to please. It's a family run business and the care they gave to make sure our stay was pleasant was priceless. We had a party of 20 and we all loved it. Basic needs are close by and the wild open air markets was a short walk away. We went swimming and shopping and ate many awesome foods prior to our cruise. Train to Rome was easy. I could talk for days.
Breakfast was simple - a packaged pastry, tea, coffee. This place was fantastic and so big compared to most places we stayed in Italy. Host was very welcoming and accommodating. We just stayed one night before a cruise, but it would be a great place for a longer stay when we could take advantage of the waterfront and resort vibe. The apartment is on a sqare with many restaurants and would be awesome to try them all. We were close to a cool market and shopping which we explored before embarking on our cruise.
The hosts Maira and her husband was by far the most accommodating host we had throughout 6 stays in Italy. She communicated very well with us and made sure we had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. She went beyond her hostess role and was also like a guide - gave us recommendations for food, beach and grocery, all of which were excellent recommendations. She ensured the room was clean and offered to change towels and tidy apartment even though we had a short stay.
Milena and Layla organized our transfers from the airport to the hotel, on arrival they both met us at the hotel, showed us to our room and explained all that was in the area, we needed to get PCR tests done before we went on a cruise which they arranged an appointment for us on the morning of the cruise , on the morning of departure they arranged transfers to the port, we would highly recommend this boutique hotel especially if you were cruising from Civitavecchia
We were traveling with a group of friends through Rome and catching our cruise ship for phase II of our vacation. Hotel Porta Di Roma, is a beautifully renovated, exceptionally appointed, and immaculately kept hotel within walking distance to restaurants, shops, the beach, and offering shuttle service to the port for a reasonable fee. A true gem! The owners are so friendly and truly perfect hosts! I highly recommend Hotel Porta Di Roma
This is the second time staying in this hotel. It's only 10 minutes from the ferry port and makes an ideal 1st night stop over for our motorbike tour of Italy. The hotel was clean and comfortable and they very kindly made us pizza when we arrived late due to a delay with our ferry. We thought it was very reasonably priced and parking for our motorbike was free. We would certainly stay here again.
The guest house was in a good location, very convenient for the beach, cafes and the port. The proprietor was very friendly and accommodating and spent a lot of effort explaining both the venue and the local area so we could get the best out of our stay. Good value for money and we will not hesitate to stay here again when we next cruise out of Civitavecchia.
Bathroom was the best part of the visit. Be aware, air conditioning in Italy is turned off at this time of year, although there was a fan in our room, which worked well. We were going on a cruise, and another couple was staying there going on the same cruise. They had no idea either that they were only booking a room, with sharing a common area.
Location was great. We easily walked into the city and back. Transport buses to the port were only a few metres away.
Staff very friendly and there was good communication re transport etc. They booked our transport from Rome airport to the hotel.
Good restaurants in the area.
Breakfast on our second day was great :)
Very clean, spacious room with good airconditioning. Owners were extremely professional and friendly. Our previously reserved shuttle from Rome airport to Civitavecchia was cancelled at the last minute but the owner rescued us at the last minute and collected us at the airport for a very reasonable rate.
Facility is very well located and appointed. Erwin is very gracious and accommodating. We’d considered staying in Rome but decided to try Civitavecchia. We were pleased with our choice. Facility is very clean, properly appointed. Geographically convenient for our needs.
We especially enjoyed the warm welcome by "Pupa" the dog. The laundry machine and ample drying racks were also a plus since we were preparing for a 14 day cruise. The decision for staying was based on parking as it is a BIG challenge to find parking in Civitavecchia.
Since we are in love with Italy, this place is absolutely beautiful. The hosts are very kind and very good. Hospitality, meticulousness and professionalism are the characteristics of these people and we will definitely come next year.
Spotless and convenient accommodation for my last-minute booking. Close to the train, I could get to Rome easily. Quiet street but close to bars and restaurants, and a short walk to the marina and the city centre of Civitavecchia.
This Hotel is perfectly located if you want to stay close to the Port. It’s about a little bit over an hour to Rome and a 5-10 mins bus ride to catch your cruise line. Lots of restaurants near the center within a 5 mins walk.
The hotel staff was great. The owners of the hotel were really nice, they helped us a lot with everything we needed. The service was excellent, definitely a recommended hotel to stay in the area at a very attractive price!
Great location, very clean and spacious rooms, also very quiet. Anna was a great host and very helpful. The best 2 star hotel I have stayed at. Breakfast was also excellent. would definitely stay here again.
What a wonderful stay at the Tourist Apartment, a delightful slice of Italy. Fabio was a welcoming & knowledgeable host as he showed us this very clean & modern apartment. We highly recommend a stay here.
