The host helped us a lot. When we came we did not have any food with us, he lent us his scooter for free to go get some food in town. We could also store our baggage when exploring the island for a few days. Great location with a nice vibe. Would come again.

Eric the receptionist is a legend. They did my washing for cheap and we're very helpful overall. The hostel had a good vibe too!

Mountain when you like. We did a motorcycle tour. Renting one or a scooter is very affordable and the scenery is very nice. Very great food at the lakefront at Julia’s, almost opposite of ecolodge chiponge
The Italian restaurant in the village on the walking street, without traffic, was great too , especially the pizza

We arrived at the end of the busy season (April 1st) which was nice, but it was hot, water had dried up, and many of the "tours" were not worth the time or money.
The people were great! The food was awesome! And we loved exploring the island on our scooter.
Definitely recommend Cafe Campestre! The pasta was OUTSTANDING and the people were fantastic.
We didn't get a good-vibe from Chocolate Paradise - walked in - many people - nobody acknowledged our existence - so we left

We loved Moyogalpa. It's really colourful.
We loved Moyogalpa. It's really colourful. Some people told us not to stay at the port town but we found it to be awesome, it's cool to have a wonder round day and night and the people are so friendly.

This is a really lovely little town by the port.
This is a really lovely little town by the port. No fuss and in low season when we visited not too touristy. The volcano hike is really tough as it’s constant ascent without respite but very rewarding. Also renting scooters and exploring the island is easy and highly recommended.

Moyogalpa is a nice little town but know that most things you want to do are oh the southern part of the island. It’s a bus/4x4/scooter ride (45 minutes probably) but very quaint with everything you need.
Jean at El Picante restaurant is very amiable and pleasant. The food is good.
Going down to El Peru to kayak the Rio Istián was the highlight of the island.
Had the best stay here. The dorm is super comfortable, spacious and clean. I loved how the room gets natural light, so relaxing. The bathroom is in great condition and always clean. Rich and tasty breakfast, one of the best I've had in South/Central America. The common area and the hammocks are perfect for relaxing. The hostel is located near a quiet street so you won't be hearing all the noise from the tuktuks and motorbikes. The family who owns the place is very sweet and nice, they will help you with everything you need.
The owners were welcoming and accommodating and helpful. The place had everything we needed and the kitchen was fully equipped and is only shared with one other room, which was unoccupied during our stay. The house is located right in the middle of a local neighbourhood just outside Moyogalpa so you get to experience local life away from the busy town, but only in walking distance of shops, restaurants and the port. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future if in the area.
Beautifully located hostel on the country side of Moyogalpa with lots of space to hangout, especially the balcony offers (on sunny days) an amazing view of volcan concepcion. The host was really helpful in terms of organizing our motor bike rental and the volcano hike (which we really recommend doing!) as well as our transport options for the onward travels. The dogs and cat are cute!
The hotel area is really nice. The rooms are inside houses/huts and are quite new. You have a great vulcano view. The shower is good, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. The staff is nice and also helped us with organizing a scooter rental for us (with a company that did not try to pull any tricks on us). The food was good, but not as exceptional as other reviews state.
Everything! We stayed here 1 night before going back to Managua and it was everything we hoped for. Close to Moyogalpa, clean, the host was super knowledgeable about bus times and our trip to the airport was flawless thanks to him. I loved the open shared space that feels much cooler than the usually more cramped accomodations accross Nicaragua.
Great location. We took an early ferry so wanted to be near and was just a short 10 min downhill walk to Dock. The hotel has a large terrace out back to chill out in. The bar was lively and served yummy food and shakes. The staff were very friendly too. The decor was lovely and lively. I would stay here again.
Nice big room in a clean hotel with pool. Nice breakfast. Great staff. Various shared spaces to sit, enjoy views, play games. We rented a scooter, had an accident and the staff was very reasonable regarding the damages. The location is perfect just outside the “downtown” core. Street food options available nearby.
Rancho Tranquillo was one of my favorite parts of Nicaragua. I cannot wait to come back! Such a great place, wonderful location, a slight walk out of town but I quite enjoyed it as well as being away from the bustle and noise of Moyogalpa. Tons of hammocks, clean and spacious property and dorms.
For the price I paid for a room with an ensuite bathroom and fairly good breakfast it was really a steal. The people who run the guesthouse are very friendly although little English is spoken. The guesthouse is only a block away from Moyogalpa's main street and a short walk from the ferry port.
Comfortable room with two fans. very quiet location, easy to walk to the main area and great size pool. the hotel arranged transfer from the airport as well a scooter rental which both were great! Sarah was super responsive with all the questions I had. also there was free tea/coffee and water.
perfect stay at ometepe house! the location is just a few minutes from the boat dock and everything you need. the staff were so friendly and helpful to me very caring, the place and room was clean with a beautiful outdoor garden and full stocked kitchen.. I had such a lovely experience here.
Victoria Hotel is a small, clean, friendly place. The staff will, if they can, accommodate any request you may have. The WiFi is excellent. The rooms are clean and adequate for a few nights stay. The hammocks are great to swing in and enjoy the view of the volcano conception.
This is a great place in the middle of nature but still relatively close to Moyogalpa. Besides the beautiful location and nice clean room, it is the owners Tony and Daniella, who make it special. Great food, a positive atmosphere. Thank you very much for the great time.
Nothing. The place is a dumpster. It's very loud, you cannot have proper rest. and its very far from everywhere. You have private rooms at the same rates in Moyogalpa itself, close to the ferry, stores and restaurants.
They also treat solo females in derogatory way.
Coco's Hostel is immaculately clean, with a pleasant central garden area tended with care and hung with colorful hammocks. Mayela, the owner, is delightful and does her best to make the guest feel welcome. This is my "go to" place when I am in Moyogalpa.
Very nice family, feeling at home, sad that I don't have a good Spanish to exchange more withe family!! Very clean room and good breakfast!!
Very good situation close to the ferry in Moyogalpa and to the center!
Thank you for everything
Great location, very colorful hostel, lovely outdoor seating area with hammocks.
Staff really helpful and recommended good places to eat and visit around the island.
Bedroom was large and beds comfortable and good shower pressure!
The hotel is perfect for a short or long stay with the pool and the bar / restaurant offering breakfast and a variety of meals. They can also arrange tours and massage (for only 20$) and we definitely recommend it !
Amazing hostel! Clean. Staff go out if their way to help. Free coffee ☕ and drinking water available all day. The free pickup at the dock was a great service. I'll definitely return here when I'm in town again.
