We did a 19 day road trip around the lower North Island, and Mount Cook Village was my favourite place to stay. Id love to go back again some time. Sadly for us due to being delayed due to issues with the interislander we only got to stay here for one night. We took an amazing scenic flight and landed on the Tasman glacier. We had the perfect day for it. The smorgasbord restaurant at the Hermitage was fantastic, one of the better smorgasbord's Ive had. I would love to come back here some day and do some of the shorter walks around the area and just to experience this majestic place once more.

Being able to see the glacier from the top part of the village. Our fantastic day trip to Lake Tasman to get close to icebergs and and the glacier at one end of the lake. (not the glacier seen from the village).

The village is located in an amazing place.
The village is located in an amazing place. If are self catering while in the village you will need to bring your supplies with you. There is very limited grocery items for sale.
There is a cafe and restaurant located in the Hermitage complex. The other dining places are closed.

There is limited accommodation at Mount Cook village and it is all expensive. There are many well marked and maintained paths from the road end which allow walks off between one hour and six hours to be safely undertaken. There are no shops or independent restaurants or food outlets, unless you are self catering, you will have to eat in the expensive hotels. The most economical way to visit would be by Campervan bringing all of your supplies with you The self catering options are limited to the motel, which is in my opinion, overpriced for the accommodation it offers.

I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around.
I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around. Nowhere to buy food or snacks and restaurant closed during the day. Inflated prices. I think our experience would have been much better but unfortunately the weather was dreadful and hence we had no views and were unable to do our planned walk. All in all it was a very disappointing experience.

Have previously stayed at YHA Mt Cook, and it has undergone a huge upgrade since converting to Haka House. Each dorm room is very practical; each bed has hooks for hanging, curtains for privacy, powerpoints and a lamp and little cubbies for personal items. The lockers are good sizes too. Communal spaces have been redone and there is plenty of space to relax. Staff were accommodating in allowing us to use card to rent towels rather than necessitating cash, given the only ATM at Hermitage Hotel was out of order.
Had a room in the motel part of the hotel. Very bright, clean and spacious apartment. Visiting ducks, and rabbits. Warm and comfortable. Full kitchen facilities.
Stunning view of Mt Sefton, sunrise on snow
Nice bathroom products.
Short walk to the main hotel, beautiful starry evenings
Dinner in Panorama ( a la carte) restaurant excellent, with interesting wine pairings. Attentive staff
My husband and I have stayed in other hotels in the area, and have to say Aoraki Court Motel is the best by far. The room had good space and was well cleaned. You can park directly in front of your room and don’t have to deal will stairs but still have an amazing view of the mountains. All the staff we’ve met were lovely. Will definitely stay here again.
Comfortable , quiet apartment which sleeps 4, park right outside. Basic kitchen enabled us to cook breakfast and alternate dinners and enjoy the buffet at the hotel too. Housekeeping visited every afternoon. Reception at the hotel organised for more kitchen equipment as we were missing a frypan. Bathroom fine with lots of hot water
Location, walking distance to beautiful visitor center and short drive to trail heads. Walking distance to restaurants.Community Room was large with lots of kitchen appliances, kitchen items, lots of tables, chairs and lounge area. Deck with tables, chairs and two grills. On a clear day excellent views of Mt Cook.
Wow! Wow! Wow! This place was like staying inside a postcard view. Exceptional service as we had a group of 8 people cycling the A2O and nothing was a problem for the staff. A World Class Hotel and venue to start your A2O journey.
Great view for the rooms looking toward mountains.
The shower was nice, modern and large.
The three course dinner at the main hotel (Hermitage) was outstanding! Views from the bar before dinner was also unbeatable on a clear day
Great experience. Lovely staff who always helped us with everything. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds that don't squeak like in other hostels. The best location and there is also a sauna as a bonus.
Helpful reception. Good lounge with nice mountain views and self-help kitchen with fridges etc for guests. Near the Hermitage Hotel, for access to a restaurant/coffee shop and start of some activities.
The nice lady introduced me to nearby restaurants to help me choose where to go for dinner. Although the facilities are no as good than other place. But I am satisfied to have such a hotel in village.
The hotel is in a standout location. It seems most of the rooms look out at the mountains. The restaurants and bar area have been refurbished and look great.
