The guesthouse is wonderful, we really loved it. Very cosy and clean room, nice beds, great shower. Microwave, tea facilities, bathrobes for the hot tub. The cute horses on the land. The wonderful hot tub, sitting there at night under the stars waiting for the Northern Light was a magical experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very good and the staff was so nice to us. We are vegetarian and they made scrambled eggs especially for us without bacon, thank you so much! We regretted having to leave, but when we are in the area again we will definitely come back!
Although away from any town, the location is convenient for visiting Myvatn Lake, Akureyri and Husavik with its amazing Geo Sea Pool.
We are grateful for the second night when we received an update to a family room on the second floor. Except room 10, all rooms have nice views. All are very comfortable. Everything, furniture, kitchen, bathroom etc. is really top quality and good taste. Not cheap, but very correct compared with what they offer. 10/10 if you want luxury at an affordable price.
The best house where we stayed in Iceland, the owners were very friendly, the house was perfect equipped, the facilities were in perfect condition and the beds were very comfortable. In our stay we saw northern lights from the house, so the stay was unbeteable. Without a doubt, highly recommended and I would repeat the stay without thinking about it. Many thanks to the owners for the welcome and if I return to Iceland, I will definitely repeat.
We’ve stayed at many small cabins around Iceland and this one exceeded our expectations. It’s very clean, well appointed, and cozy. The owners have taken care to attend to the small details. We visited in early October and the cabin was warm and well insulated. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The cabin is behind the owners house but is very private and has a nice view of the surrounding area.
+ beautiful location, nice little cabins
+ two bedrooms one with double bed, one with bunk beds
+ hot tub! (Tho we didn’t use it I’ll admit)
+ well equipped small kitchen
+ great shower, powerful & hot
+ great food at Dalakofinn cafe nearby (5 mins drive away)
+ close to Godafoss (15 mins), Snow Dogs (10 mins) and Myvatn (40 mins) as well as Husavik (30 mins)
++++ we saw northern lights!
This is definitely the best place to stay in the north of Iceland (maybe in whole Iceland). Abba and Hlynur had been very friendly and helpful. The Accommodation is a nice and large room - very quiet and clean.
But the very best is the breakfast - a big applause for this !!
The location is right in the middle of all attractions.
The breakfast made me recall being in grade school where food was served from steamer trays while we pushed our trays down the line. This time I got to serve myself in this old-fashioned cafeteria. Be aware, this property is a boarding school during the year and transformed to a 'hotel' for summer.
We stayed in this place twice each time we visited Iceland. It has large and comfort rooms with an impressive breakfast. It is only 12 min drive to Godafoss. It’s hot tub is very popular where you can relax under the stars or if lucky, under northern light.
One of the best accommodations we had on Iceland. Everything was perfect, nice hosts who baked homemade treats for us. The house was the biggest one we had all of the time on our Iceland vacation. Totally recommend this place for accommodation 11/10.
Conveniently located when traveling North. Kind staff, great breakfast and comfortable room. Nice tea and coffee available. Fun decor, books and other Icelandic info. Hot tub outside but we didn’t stay long enough to use it. Friendly dog on property!
Location was great. Halfway between Akureyri and Myvatn. The owner met us on arrival to hand over the keys and showed us around. Has washer and dryer. Would definitely recommend.
Breakfast was exceptional with tons of choices that were refilled quickly. It is in a good location for taking in the sights around Myvatn. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Nice spacious apartment with well equipped kitchen and bath room. Combined washer/dryer in the bath room is a plus. Ideal place residing between Lake Myvatn and Husavik.
Very nice apartment with everything youn need and very well located between Myvatn and Husavik. Small supermarket and restaurant close by. Would always come back
The place was nice and clean. There were a washing machine and a dryer. The location was OK but we didn't need to go to Laugar. It is close to N1 gas station.
