it is just perfect for vacation, for a rest from noise and speed of life. beach is 15 meters from apartment, just below the doors. Every day to see flood and recede just from balcony is so calming and charming feeling. apartment is newly built and has a convenient plan. the best restaurant in location is just on the corner. There are two groceries 5 minutes walk. public parking with plenty space is also 5 minutes walk to apartment. definitely would come back if just the flight to El Hierro was easier than it is now.

Very comfortable room, the only sound in the night the waves! Beautiful location and very friendly staff.
We had half board and very much enjoyed the tasty and varied breakfasts and choices for dinner.
Would like to return once the swimming pool has been reconstructed.

Most restaurants closed for Christmas so, as we prefer eating in the evening without driving, we ate most evenings in the apartment. Much less to do in town than we anticipated. The island of El Hierro is really beautiful. Great for sightseeing and trekking. Very friendly people.

La Restinga is a lovely fishing port at the very southern tip of this beautiful island, and actually the continent of Europe. It has only a few bars and restaurants and a couple of small, but well stocked, mini markets. There are a couple of sandy beach areas as well as wooden sunbathing platforms close to steps to get into the sea. This is primarily a spot for diving enthusiasts. We used it as a springboard to visit other places as it's supposed to be sunnier and warmer in winter than places farther inland or to the north. There aren't many options for restaurants and such - I'm not sure if it would be different in summer. Most are fairly traditional-looking and dishes are similar in most. Breakfast options were scarce - you'd be better off doing your own. I didn't see any bakeries nor cafés. Almost all of them were the all-in-one type of places. There are a lot of slopes, so I wouldn't recommend La Restinga for those with mobility issues.ChiewSpain - 8.0Scored 8.0

As the sign at the harbor points out, this is the southern-most point in the EU. Unless you are using one of the several dive centers in this very small town, there is really not much there , but the harbor is scenic, there are one or two decent restaurants, and our balcony was the perfect place for a drink at sunset after a day of scuba diving.JohnUnited States - 10Scored 10

When the weather is cloudy elsewhere on the Island here it is usually dry and sunny although windy. The beaches are quite small though water calm as sheltered by harbour at one but the other too rocky to safely get in the water. There seems to be diving places everywhere.

It's a very quiet and sleepy little town whose main type of business is diving centres and some bars and restaurants. It's a good base tu explore the island from or to completely get away. The apartments on the second and third floor have oceanview, the lower floors don’t have a view, only on the pool. So I would suggest to request a higher floor. It was cleaned every day and fresh towels. They had a wonderful outdoor bar called Pirat-arg, and a BBQ pizza place on one of the big terraces. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
