Veligandu Maldives Resort Island, hotel in Rasdu

Set in Rasdu, Veligandu Maldives Resort Island features a private beach area. Offering a restaurant, the property also has an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre.

Nice resort! You will get to experience every aspect of the holiday in the Maldives, at a reasonable rate, such as a journey by the sea-plane, being greeted by the resort personnel with drums, staying at a secluded heaven-like resort with wonderful clean beaches and tropical vegetation, incredible coral reef all around with beautiful fishes, staying in the water villa. if you have never been to the Maldives, choose this resort. You will not regret it for a second. Special thanks to Veligandu for special treatment on the day of our anniversary: excellent design in the room with the flowers and swan sculptures on the bed, the bottle of sparkling drink in the ice bucket, specially decorated table at dinner. The reef is one of the best in the Maldives, no matter in which direction you will swim, you will see thousands of colourful fish. But an especially nice reef starts opposite the main restaurant. I swam around the whole island except the "airport" area. It was nice everywhere. CHOOSE SEA VILLA no matter how much more expensive it is. it is much better and the experience is from another world. We stayed at both (beach and sea villas), we can tell.

Acqua Blu Rasdhoo, hotel in Rasdu

Acqua Blu Rasdhoo has a restaurant, a fitness centre and shared lounge in Rasdu. With a garden, the 3-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom.

Best decision was to go to Rasdhoo during Ramadan month because 80% of the island is in construction of new hotels. The only restaurant worth eating on the island is Lemon drop. The Chinese one is overpriced, the Lagoon is not tasty. You need to have US dollars in cash for paying the hotel and the restaurants, the bank in the airport will sell you local currency at worst rate than used on islands. Careful with speed boats - there's only one per day to local island at 16h and if your plane arrives later, you're stuck in airport or Male for a night that I recommend to avoid at all cost. The guesthouse is fine, I was choosing cautiously, very close to the snorkelling area. Don't repeat my mistake and choose the mask carefully before you travel! I took a full face for easy breath but it was leaking, apparently the simple mask that fits your face, an anti-fog and a pipe are better. The bedroom and the shower were spacious, there was even room service of changing towels, providing a bottle of water and wiping the floor. The bed is comfy.

The charm of local islands lies in the ability to enjoy both the local culture and the stunning nature of the Maldives. In this regard, Rasdhoo is the ideal place. It's a community where ordinary people live in close proximity, contributing to its authentic vibe. The island boasts a sufficient number of restaurants that offer a variety of good food, including Maldivian, Indian, and Italian cuisines, all at reasonable prices. Even during Ramadan, some restaurants remained open. Shopping in the local supermarkets is also a pleasant experience. While the serving of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited, we were able to enjoy perfect espressos in multiple locations.

We didn't like it on the island, a lot of garbage everywhere and a lot of broken glass on the beach. The locals are friendly, so we thank them for taking our suitcases to the accommodation, because the host gave us a hard time.

This island is suitable for diving and snorkling excursions.

This island is suitable for diving and snorkling excursions. There is nothing to do there as the beach is small, water is very shallow and the reef is not amazing. Shallow Lagoon restaurant is good and not expensive with the decent variety of dishes. Only for a short stay.

From being met in Male airport and being escorted to the Kuramathi lounge in the seaplane terminal and everything after, was perfect. Our room (Superior beach villa) looked out over the reef and was steps away from pristine white sands with ample loungers for all villas. The resort and area of our room felt very tranquil. We had reservations about being on the 'older' part of the island but would return to the same room in a heartbeat. The buffet meals were excellent, full of flavour, choice and not at all repetitive. Our meal at The Reef was fabulous too. The staff on the 2 snorkeling trips were very informative and considerate of the welfare of the animals and the coral. We managed to see whale shark and Manta Rays on the 2 trips we did and a turtle, lion fish and lots of baby sharks, on the house reef. The buggy service around the resort is good as it is a large island. We will definitely return.

Rasdhoo is a small but nice island.

Rasdhoo is a small but nice island. The tourist beach is nice with free sun beads and snorkelling just outside the beach. We actually went to Rasdhoo to dive with the hammerheads but it turned out that they haven’t seen them for over a month and that they don’t se them that often. We enjoyed the stay anyways!

Rasdu is a perfect island for the tourists that want to experience the real life with the locals on Maldives. It has 5-6 restaurants, one rooftop restaurant from which is the sunset perfect. They are having a gym in the open air, next to it is the football and volleyball court, I was watching the local matches each afternoon. The beach is nice all around the island, the local people are speaking English and they are all very kind and helpful. I was walking all around the island barefoot because you never know when the rain will come (even if it is raining, after one hour, the sun is coming again). My highest recommendation for the beautiful Rasdu island.

The hotel manager Kenan was truly the best. He answered all our questions before coming to the island and all the questions we hade when we were on the island. The breakfast is good, always some kind of egg, sausage, toast, fruit, coffee and tea and some Maldivian breakfast (flat bread with a tuna mix). The bed was really comfortable and the location of the guesthouse on the island was really nice.

Vacation exceeded my expectations! The room vas very good and comfortable, the view was amazing and all the members of the staff were very friendly. The hotel also has a very significant advantage: even if the water is choppy, you can still swim in another part of the island. Special thanks to the cooks, the food was great. The only wish is to improve the internet in the bungalow. Thank you

Cleanliness, amazing staff, decent location, spacious room, bathtub was great. Amazing tour options organized by staff. Space has a nice energy. Our reception to the hotel was one of the best we had in Maldives- we were welcomed with cold towel and fresh juice. Communication was efficient and transfers stress-free. Regardless of the 'things we didn't like', we would stay here again.

The staff was very nice and helped with everything when I ended up in the hospital (called our next booked hotel on another island and helped to change the booking, found another hotel on this island for extra days). It was very nice that they even brought the homemade soup for me to the hospital. Thank you very much!
