Love Gore for its beautiful city centre.
Love Gore for its beautiful city centre. City council has done a great job. The city is tidy and you can see flowers on the main streets. Fantastic! Lots of churches which are amazing. May the Lord bless the whole city and it's residents!

Gore is a nice country town surrounded by lovely green countryside and is well served with amenities. There is a great art gallery which has an impressive collection of Ralph Hotere works amongst others and a museum that tells the story of illicit whiskey distilling in the area. Several places to eat and get a good coffee like The Stables Cafe. If you are a fisher there is the Mataura river which runs through the town. Go North and its a nice drive to Queenstown and south gets you to Invercargill.

lovely countryside and the cafe and restaurant definitely worth visiting again. Shops were varied and I spent far too much money, the hospice shop was a great place to spend half an hour or more browsing. If you were self catering the main shops were there for you. Pleasant place to walk around as well.

Gore is the heart of the Southern area and in true Southern style their hospitality is second to none. People are friendly and the area has a quiet feel but is still modern and facilities are great. The Town and Country club is a great social place with very friendly bar staff and locals..

Gore is a busy, vibrant and prosperous rural town.
Gore is a busy, vibrant and prosperous rural town. Buildings are well-maintained and the streets clean and tidy. Good shopping
with friendly retailers. Easy to find one's way around, and
the town an excellent for driving around Southland.
A most enjoyable visit.
The host of this property Annette is the most awesome person ever. She made us feel so welcome and it was like we had known her for ages. Her hospitality is amazing and she certainly goes the extra mile for her guests. It is a lovely house in a wonderful quiet location and breakfast was fantastic. We absolutely loved our stay here and would absolutely recommend this place to stay if you are heading to Gore. Thank you so much Annette we really did appreciate our time with you.

We had such a lovely time spending New Year’s with Annette and friends at her beautiful and peaceful home. Annette is an incredible host and talking about NZ life with her might just have been the highlight of our trip :) Her home is extremely comfortable and was very conveniently located for us as we travelled down toward Bluff/Stewart island. We hope to be back to NZ and especially Gore someday soon - thank you Annette!
The view was absolutely amazing, the location was absolutely perfect, you feel like you’re away in the middle of nowhere, but you’re only a few minutes drive from Gore city centre. The room was super tidy and very warm. The owners were both extremely kind and welcoming. We also really enjoyed playing fetch with their super friendly dog. We would definitely stay again.
The location was perfect - close to Gore but in the peaceful countryside. While close to the owner's house, our cottage was private. The layout of the cottage was efficient and felt roomy. The the furniture and fittings were of high quality. We enjoyed sitting on the tiny porch to drink our morning coffee and listen to the rustle of the breeze in the trees.
The motel is exceed my expectations. The host is very lovely and the cabin is super clean and well maintained. I definitely recommend this motel and every time I have to stay overnight at Gore, I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommended it. A recliner chair is a plus.
Stunning location looking over farms and pastures of Gore. Huge great room to enjoy, with the hosts. Very kind people, and very accommodating. We reserved two rooms, neither of which appeared to have have any heating. Not a problem in summer, but could be chilly in winter.
The location was convenient for me, the unit was well equiped and clean, the staff were very helpful and were able to assist me as I had a large trailer with me. During peak season this might be a bit trickier, highly recommended when your in Gore
A lovely, clean and cosy cottage in a peaceful rural setting some 20 minutes outside Gore. It was comfortable and had a well-equipped kitchen, a heatpump, bathroom with bath and shower and available garage space. A perfect get-away spot.
This is a beautiful home with equally beautiful views. Our host was very friendly and the cooked breakfast was lovely. Location-wise it was perfect, just on the outskirts of Gore. It was super peaceful and the night-sky was so clear.
Lovely warm welcome from the host.
The bed was so comfy and the peaceful location made for a great night's sleep.
Beautiful poached eggs on toast for breakfast too.
I will definitely stay again next time I am in Gore - thank you.
