The Saudi Arabian capital, sprawling Riyadh is a mix of historic monuments and ultra-modern skyscrapers. On a plateau surrounded by desert, it is one of the Middle East’s richest cities, so there are several 5-star hotels in Riyadh.
This wealth is also evident in modern architecture, particularly the Kingdom Center, a perfectly sculpted building looking strangely like a bottle opener. Lit at night, it has an observation deck with fantastic city views.
On its bottom floor is a shopping mall, and there is another inside Al Faisaliyah, the country’s 1st skyscraper. Riyadh is a shopping paradise and there are even more malls on wide, palm-lined King Fahd Road. This king also gave his name to King Fahd Stadium, home of the Saudi soccer team.
Unusually for a capital, King Khalid International Airport is right in the center of the city and there are lots of Riyadh hotels near the airport on Booking.com. South, in Al Murabba, is the King Abdulaziz Historical Center, site of the Saudi Arabia National Museum. Further south in Dirah is 19th-century Al-Masmak fort with souks and mosques nearby.
Wherever you stay, remember that Saudi Arabia is a deeply Islamic country and that local customs should be respected. Men and women may not be able to access attractions at the same time.

Riyadh is a very big place to hang around and you might never be able to book a stay long enough to discover it in its full.
The other thing is that Riyadh is a more liberal place for people to be around, just like a lot of big cities around the world you can see all kinds of different people with different background wandering the streets even though Islamic law prevails, they are not as tough on appearing rules as they may be on the smaller villages and towns in Saudi Arabia.
Just don't do anything an ordinary family (member) would not do and don't mingle in religious affairs and you will be safe.

This is a fast-developing country with ambitions to improve the socio-economic status in the region, so there is no doubt it is already standing out with its infrastructure and its plans for growth in tourism and global awareness. Shopping and a little bit of nature are a must if you would like to immerse yourself in the local culture. On the flip side it is becoming very modern and open to all creeds and cultures with parks, concerts, fairs etc.
Language is not necessarily a barrier, as is in most parts of the world, so don't let that stop you.
Best times to travel are during the winter months in Saudi Arabia.

The city still needs more improvement, heavy traffic is killing the city and killing any plans also the car drivers there are very reckless, The LEAP event was established around 90KM from the city center where all the people can find hotels or houses it was literally in the middle of the desert without any restaurants and cafes, also prices in restaurants and coffeeshop are expensive compared to other Gulf cities like Doha or Dubai, In general it is not that bad but if you travelled before to Qatar, UAE and Oman and expecting the same experience you might feel disappointed, hopefully the new vision to Improve Riyadh and to make the new business capital will be in place and Riyadh will be better keeping in mind that 6-7 years ago nothing was there and the city improved a lot since then

Riyadh is a major city in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 where the city is going thru a lot of development and changes towards the 2030 Vision. The city is vibrant and the Saudis are kind and welcoming from the Immigration all the way upto Starbucks and Restaurants. They are more on the ground and it’s very good to see them work together with expats in their country. I remember Dana working in Starbucks and she was very friendly to all the clients and helping them choose the best cookie 🍪 and coffee ☕️!
The traffic is insane and requires you to master very well and a strong defensive driving across the streets!
Google Maps or Waze doesn’t get the traffic scene right and might also get you in trouble at times!
We had been to the Leap 24 and the Riyadh Boulevard and throughly appreciated the vision and Leadership of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
We Love 💚 Riyadh and Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦

Fairly good hotel at the hear of Riyadh. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. The rooms were good and spacious enough and the bed was comfy. The hotel is quite and clean. The reception people are friendly and helped us get an extension for check out till 6 pm for an additional of SAR 100. There is a nice coffee shop attached to the hotel (November Cafe). You get two complimentary water bottle at the room. It is a traditional hotel not like the global chain hotels in terms of luxury and facilities but it was good.
I flew into Riyadh late at night and just needed a place to stay overnight before catching a flight to AlUla early the next morning. There aren't a lot of hotel options in and around the airport, and of the few hotels, most are very pricey. This hotel was the best option in terms of value and proximity to the airport. Front desk person was very friendly and offered me a welcome drink. The room was big (I would later discover this to be the case in all the hotels I booked in Saudi!), clean and very comfortable.
The hotel is very new, built around a year ago. Design is very pleasant and the rooms are of a good size and comfortable. However, the best part of the stay were the staff, who were incredibly helpful and kind, going far and beyond to aid in solving any question that we had, as it was our first time in Saudi Arabia. I would like to especially thank Osama who was always checking in on our stay every morning.
This is a new hotel at a strategic location in between the airport and the city centre. In spite of the 3* rating my room felt like 4*. The breakfast options are good for guests with Eastern taste. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Multiple fastfood options are available in the walking distance. Definitely recommended for a short business trip with meetings in the central and northern areas of Riyadh.
The daily dose of hummus and the fresh omelette station were great! Even after two weeks.
If there was an issue, the hotel always tried to solve the issue immediately.
The personnel were friendly! Many thanks go Rana, Tanvir and Sib Hussain for their friendly service.
It was relatively close to the Boulevard Riyadh City where I had my meetings as well as the airport.
The staff of the hotel, as well as the Saudi citizens I had contact with were extremely friendly, wellcoming, polite and helpful. I enjoyed the location, just few meters away from the Al Faisaliah shopping mall, and easily accessible from all directions in the city. I got a confortable room, very clean and spacious. I really enjoyed my time in Riyadh.
The hotel is located in Olaya Street which is the main hub of Riyadh, it is close to Tahlia Street which has all the great restaurants and malls nearby, most of the landmarks are 15 to 20 minutes walk. The room was very spacious and the buffet breakfast was really nice. The staff is amazing and will go over the board to support you with your request.
I had a fantastic stay at this Carawan Al Khaleej Hotel Olaya in Riyadh. The location is ideal, nestled in a great part of the city with comfortable and quiet neighborhoods. The breakfast was delightful, and the staff went above and beyond—friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Highly recommend for a pleasant and convenient stay.
The best hotel in Riyadh for a reasonable price. Spacious and clean rooms with amenities and pertect location. Staff are very professional. Anzar in the reception is very helpful and welcoming with his lovely smile. And also Mohamed is very cooperative and friendly. I really enjoy my stay in this fabulous hotel everytime.
Everything was nice. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful, only the room was very small and the wardrobe inside the bathroom. This is the only thing that I did not like, but other than that everything is beautiful. The hotel is close to the front of Riyadh and Riyadh Park and also close to the airport
It has been a good experience. Room was large and clean, not too much noise despite previous comments online. Hotel was located not too far from various food and entertainment areas, keeping in mind that everything is scattered in Riyadh. Good connection from the airport.
One of the best hotel in Riyadh and my first preference always. Clean and spacious rooms... Very good aroma. Clean carpets and furniture. Spacious bathrooms. Big flat TV. Breakfast is amazing.. With many choice of dishes and tasty
The hotel is new and beautiful, close to the the Riyadh airport. Only issue is noise from another customer's kids at all night. If additional door is added to the room might reduce noise
The hotel is an excellent property if you wish to have a comfortable stay in Riyadh. Everything is super clean, spacious quiet room with easy access to all major locations in the city.
Fahad was great in welcoming, and because of the amazing check_in experience, I will recommend the hotel for my friends. I will book in this hotel every time I visit Riyadh city.
