It suited my stay for one night. Clean, neat and quite . The Comms Hotel next door was great as we ordered our dinner and pick it. Best in town.

I like Whakatane area it has some great shop's, but when were in the Bay of Plenty we spend most of our time in beautiful Matata and Kawerau visiting with whanau. The beaches in Matata are truly beautiful, Matata is another great place to visit it's 20mins out of Whakatane great for fishing.

Whakatane is great for walkers with plenty of paths and toilets. Its family friendly and very clean. Pedestrian crossings seem to be missing but the locals were great and stopped at all the courtesy stops. We found some great places to eat and notes the town had more than everything you would need. Impressive little place for a short stay.

Whakatane has a huge variety of shopping stores, eating facilities, bars, hairdressers in fact everything really and for everyone. The Hub which is just across the bridge is another shopping area with Kmart and Briscoe being my favourites but again shopping for everyone. Bunnings the huge warehouse is a goldmine easy to get carried away when shopping there. The walkway/cycling lane along the waterfront is an awesome stroll. Accomodation....heaps to choose from....you have to visit to appreciate Whakatane.

We loved Whakatane.
We loved Whakatane. Wandering around the shops or along the river was lovely. We enjoyed watching the boats and everyone was very friendly. Over the hill at Ohope Beach was brilliant for sea swimming.
The location is stunning with glorious views. Peace and tranquility and a great place to be re-energised . THe home is an easy drive to Whakatane and Ohope
Viv is a caring hostess with pays attention to detail and ensuring our comfort at all times. She provided valuable information about the area, places to see, where to eat, best travel routes etc. Our accommodation was immaculate. we had everything we needed and more .
The host was very friendly and accomodating and waited patiently for us to arrive from Rotorua at 11:30 pm and didn't even charge us a late entry fee. The room still have the fresh new room smell, very clean and the air con was great. The bed was very comfortable too (quite stable so when my partner move around I didn't wake up). Love the Wairere waterfall right behind the hotel too.
Lovely clean rooms, bed linen clean and crisp. Comfy bed. All the amenities of home. Older model motel, but still loved it. Having an indoor pool was a bonus. Nice friendly staff. Even though on the main road into Whakatane, it was still quiet, couldn't hear traffic noise. Definitely would come back here.
Location was perfect. Lovely little cafe on site. Staff lovely and friendly. Loved our room. Other family stayed at hotel as well. Fun comparing rooms. Only drawback, sons room, bottom floor, at base of stairs, no view, was disappointing. I suggested we swap rooms, but he said no, they aready settled in.
Have stayed in a few different places in Whakatane but! This place is Excellent. The micro units are fab, very clean, spacious in every way, great bed , accomodating staff. The cafe serves up really nice food great for breakie. Look forward to our next stay.
Clean room, very friendly staff, walking distance to restaurants and shops, comfy bed.
My second stay in the hotel and I enjoyed it. The hotel could need some updates on the furniture, but it's far better than the reviews on here.
Host was welcoming when we arrived. We have stayed at this hotel before and my husband and I loved it. It was spacious and clean and well presented. I would highly recommend this hotel it's one of the best I have stayed in.
Jill was pleasant, friendly and kind. The Landing Motel is our favourite Whakatane accomodation because it’s clean, inviting, warm and the spa bath is a real treat for us, healing and soothing for our tired working bodies.
The room we had was absolutely lovely, clean and immaculate. The location of the hotel was very handy to shops, restaurants etc and though it was on a main road the traffic noise wasn't a problem for us.
We were only here for one night.
We have stayed at few motels in whakatane and this motel rates really high with us and plan to choose this motel the next time we are back if it is available.
Great little unit, plenty of space and very cozy with air con and couch and dining table, two double beds, very nice, I would highly recommend this place if you are coming to Whakatane.
It was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, and checkin/checkout was super easy. Great value for money - we'll be back next time we're in Whakatane!
One of the best places I have ever stayed at in New Zealand. We had a two bedroom suite and we will definitely be back, it was nicer than a 5 star hotel
