Lots of good food to discover in this town, like Southern Kitchen, Buddys Chicken & Waffles and Toast me Tacoma.
Be sure to visit Point Defiance Park and Zoo, the Washington State History Museum.

Tacoma itself seems like a great city.
Tacoma itself seems like a great city. However, the Comfort Inn next to the Tacoma Dome is terrible. The staff are unprofessional, and you’ll be lucky if you can get checked in (even if you booked months in advance).

Be prepared to see a city over run by trash, crime, and homelessness. Don't bother staying anywhere with walking distant of any main attraction, you won't be able to walk anyway due to the sprawling homeless encampments and gang bangers lining every corner and underpass. Do your research before you go and be aware of your surroundings.

Absolutely love the place and we will continue to visit often. The rooms are very comfortable and the food is fantastic! Every person we encountered was cheerful and helpful. The bartender that served us was funny and accommodating! I'm a minority and not often treated equally but here it makes no difference! We will come back often...

Silver Cloud is a very nice place to stay and very quiet comfortable rooms. But it is a little expensive by the time we got done with one night the room, parking, dinner and breakfast it was almost $500. We had planned on more than one night but had to just do one for our anniversary don’t get me wrong it is very nice place along the water front. There is a public market, theater, shops and more dining with in walking distance. The glass museum, point defiance park and zoo are a short drive. It wold have been nice to have a room facing the water maybe next time after we save up a little money.

OK, first you have to understand that I've lived in Tacoma for a long time. Homelessness and crime are major issues unfortunately but more often than not as long as you don't do anything stupid you should be fine. All that aside, Tacoma is an absolutely beautiful city with some gorgeous historical buildings and neighborhoods full of crestsman turn of the century houses. Also the food scene here, although not on the same part as Seattle, is definitely a close 2nd.
I reserved this stay for my grandson. He literally traveled 2000 miles by Amtrak and arrived one week ago today. He was so pleased with your property! It helped tremendously to have a comfortable room in a safe environment and he has flourished already in Tacoma, training for a new position with Amazon. I just reserved one more night for him in the same room. Thank you so much for providing the perfect environment for a young man very far from home!
Modern, spacious rooms with plenty of storage to accommodate our family of 4. The hotel is very clean, comfortable & quiet making for a great night’s sleep. The hotel provides lovely Aveda products. Excellent for families with teenagers with so much to do in the immediate area (roof top pool/hot tub, shopping, movie theater, restaurants, walk/running trails, rental bikes/specialty bikes). Friendly staff and wonderful restaurant.
The property was very clean, the staff were all fantastic, and the beds were very comfortable. The free breakfast was amazing! It had everything from biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs, hash browns, bacon & sausage, cereal, muffins, bagels and more! Breakfast was always busy, but the had it staffed and plenty of seating. Centrally located. Took us less than 10 mins to get to the mall and the Tacoma Dome.
We stayed during our honeymoon trip and loved everything about this hotel! The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was perfect and we enjoyed exploring all of the areas of the hotel and bars. Highlights were the free live music in the beautiful band room, the secret bar, the tikki style bar where we had dinner and drinks, and the tap room. We hope to return one day!
It really was a comfortable spot and large enough to spread out. Very nicely decorated and homey. It was so much better than a hotel for us and completely private. Very good value compared to other options in the area. Huge tv in the living room was great, plus a washer and dryer. The whole coffee and grinder was a nice surprise as well. I will definitely be back!
The hotel has a wonderful staff and a beautiful building with amazing art. The lounge in the lobby is beautiful and comfortable with a nice bar in the evening. The restaurant on the 4th floor is also great with wonderful views of downtown Tacoma and beautiful Mt. Rainier. The wait staff are also top notch, as is the food!
Pretty much all of it, but especially that BED! It’s so comfortable and the pillows and bedding are just so soft and comfy. Perfect after a long night out on the town with my best friend. We got to explore so much of downtown Tacoma and have a fun Halloween night without having to drive anywhere
Me and my family stayed in this hotel for four days . No housekeeping. No breakfast. We asked for bathed towels they were out of towels . The graveyard person was horrible and rude. She slept on her shift . Other staffs there were nice.
The location is superb, very close to areas we wanted to visit such as the University of Washington Tacoma, Union Station (Court House) and Murano Glass Museum. The room is of high standard, clean and comfortable.
I love this hotel. I stay here often because it has the best pool hours. Which is 24hr. The staff was great as always and the check in is always a breeze. The place has a good feel to it and very clean and comfy.
Large, modern room. Hotel was within walking distance to the tram and downtown area. Breakfast was tasty and had a number of options. Appreciated having a 12pm checkout. Would return to this hotel in the future.
The room was fine - reasonably spacious, and with all the facilities you would expect. Good secure parking garage (included in the price). Good location just off the I-5 and very near the Tacoma Dome.
