Crossville is a small city in Cumberland plateau, one of the areas with the best climate in the country because of the high elevation and low humidity. Traffic on Hwy 127, where all the market is, is hectic, otherwise good. Not really cheap prices, and not many outlets for cheaper alternatives, if you are cost conscious. State taxes are high, probably because of no state income taxes. If you like parks and nature, you will like it here. And the autumn colors on the trees are gorgeous. We visited a (not large) number of restaurants, and food was everywhere good but sometimes costly and service, in some small local places, inexistant. For a combination of decent quality and low prices, the Hibachi Super Buffet is a place to check.

The restaurant selection is good.
The restaurant selection is good. Places to shop are limited. There are a few craft and agriculture festivals during the summer. Basically, it's a very small city not much to do. There are nature parks. There is a military museum. A few days stay would be fine.

Lots of downtown traffic and lots of parks and recreation areas around town. Lots of dining options, but many small local restaurants were packed and unable to handle the traffic. Nice, easy roads once out of the downtown craze. Ridiculously low speed limits, the whole city is a speed trap. Clean, light mountain air. Lots of lakes (with some beaches, too) around.

Cossville is located right off Interstate 40 so it's convenient to get there from either Knoxville or Nashville. It can also be reached by traveling on US 127. Quite larger town than I expected, with lots of hotels, restaurants, and shopping. One of the main attractions is Cumberland Mountain State Park, which has picnic areas, a pool, cabins, hiking trails, and a nice restaurant. No admission fee to this park.
I traveled from Crossville to my home in metro Atlanta via US 127, US 27, and some Tennessee roads and it was a very scenic route. All of the roads were well maintained.
I spent two days in Crossville and I wish I could have stayed longer.

We were there for a play at the Cumberland County Play House. A great place for families! We ate at Arby's (chosen by our 4 yrs. old grand-daughter) Our hotel was within 10 mins of the Play House and we had a very good time and visit in Crossville.

Great, friendly community.
Great, friendly community. We had difficulty choosing places for late evening gatherings of family and friends for dinner and drinks. Not many Crossville dining choices open late night (say 10p and after). Casa Grande was great all-around, but closed at 10p, so we were rushed that night. There were a few chains to choose from. We ended our last night at Bootleggers for drinks and enjoying family company and conversation. A bar w smoking (I'm a smoker, but don't like smoking bars). They had Karaoke, great staff and outside deck area w 2 Pool tables. All in all? A great trip and will do it again.
We enjoyed a clean, comfortable stay at this Quality Inn. Tony so nicely offered a different room to locate us closer to the laundry after I asked the laundry’s location and already had keys to a room. The single washer and dryer was in the other building, was clean and new looking, and was just a few doors down from our room. There was a nice variety in the grab and go breakfast.
The staff was very pleasant and it was an excellent location..in town but away from the traffic.. has a pleasant wooded area on the side and they are pet friendly. The rooms remind me of hotels I stayed in as a child.. enjoyed our stay very much
The rooms were clean and very spacious. Bed was comfortable. AC worked. Bathroom was open concept. It was an extremely nice hotel for the price and in such a smaller city.
