Kadoka is a very small town that does not have a lot to offer as far as attractions. It was close to Badlands National Park( approx. 30 minutes to the entrance) and we did visit the distillery which was pretty good and very reasonable. There really is no place to eat so you will want to plan ahead. We ate in Wall. We also packed food. There is a moderate sized refrigerator. It was VERY hot so we really appreciated the air conditioning. Wish the pool was functioning. Comfortable place to stay for a couple of nights. Price was reasonable. Staff was friendly. Was nice to have TV and catch some news. Something we did not have the 10 days prior to heading through SD.

There was nothing in Kadoka we stayed for except it is a very short drive to the entrance to The Badlands, which was our destination and we highly recommend. If you have kids (or not) you cannot miss a stop at the Prairie Dog Ranch. $1 for a bag of peanuts that you can handfeed adorable prairie dogs.

Kadoka is a small town and it is rural but it has a nice restaurant next to the motel, a hardware store and grocery in town with reasonable prices and a Dollar Store, Folks are friendly and helpful, it has a library and museum. Just south to town on highway 73 is a nice drive over the white river and the edge of the badlands,

It's a great place with great customer service and very nice breakfast 👍
Rooms are clean
There's not too many great eating places around though, but that's not the hotels fault
Recommend the 1880 town and Badlands
My room was huge - it was practically 2 rooms with a bathroom in between. I was traveling with my 2 fur babies on our way to see the Badlands. This was the only pet-friendly hotel in town. The guy at the front desk was very kind, and so were his 3 dogs that I met. The room was definitely no frills, but exceeded my expectations for a town like this. There was an ice machine in the lobby, which was a nice add for my water bottles. :-)
I didn't get breakfast from the hotel - not sure if they offered it. Coffee in my room was fine. Woman who checked me in was friendly and helpful. Excellent internet connection. I appreciated having a fly swatter in the room, since there was a fly to deal with. I also enjoyed being next to open fields.
Location was good, we didn't hear the high way traffic. The parking lot was very big in back of hotel for our vehicle. There wasn't any breakfast, not even a coffee machine. Room and beds were comfortable. The front desk staff was only staff person around and he was friendly and helpful.
There was a bit of cereal in the lobby, but because our host said that breakfast would be put out around 9:00 we just ate our own breakfast because we wanted to be on the road by then. I believe our host was doing their best but the hotel was understaffed.
Room is clean and AC cool down the room fast at low setting. It's a smaller unit but works well compare to two other hotels we have stay at throughout our trip. Check in and out was straight forward and nice staff.
Right off the interstate with convenience stores close by. Great room with divider wall - very spacious. It’s an older property but for travelers looking for a place to land at the end of the day it was perfect.
Basic but friendly hotel, but very minimal. Service was very good and rooms were OK. Fridge and Micro were very nice. TV was very good. Furniture was very dated and usefulness very limited.
