We love the beach, accessibility to the rest of the island and the incredible gardens. I was so impressed as we watched daily the diligence and thoroughness of the staff to clean the grills- amazing!
The plantation-style Kauai Inn boasts an outdoor pool and beautiful views of the green Hula'eia Mountains. It is next to Niumalu Beach Park and Nawiliwili Bay’s surfing and fishing.

very clean property and really nice people. We mostly spend the days taking the car to the beach. Loved the complimentary small sort of breakfast and the coffee which is available at all times

poor service feels like a factory, no personal or human touch.
nothing complimentary: not even water(7$per bottle), no kettle, no bathrobe, no slippers, no room service at night, no toothbrush glass, two paper cups for 2 queen beds, only 2 teabags, nothing in the fridge(even payable)….and the most incredible: 32$ for a breakfast “buffet”(only 4 items!) and a charge for more than one cup of hot water for the room!!!!to say the least: an overall very unpleasant experience for almost 700$ a night!
on top of all that, the swimming pool was not even usable
Just 5 minutes' walk from Nawiliwili Park, Banyan Harbor Resort is a non-smoking accommodation and features a heated saltwater pool. Guest rooms offer a fully-equipped kitchen and WiFi.

The location was great. The facilities were basic, but not bad in any way. It is affordable (to Kauai standards).

Newly renovated, modern motel with a nice pool and breezy bar, and direct access to the beach. Very conveniently located to explore the rest of the island. I would seek breakfast elsewhere though.
Located on the east coast of Kauai Island, the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort is directly on Coconut Beach. It features an on-site restaurant and rooms with a private balcony.

The location is a few minutes from the airport, Walmart and the beach. Everything was clean and the staff was great. Coffee made in the lobby from 8 to 11 am. The kitchen had a small fridge with a freezer comp, hot plate with some pans and everything needed to make and eat small meals. Hot water, comfy bed, towels and soap. AC worked great. Recommend the stay if you need to be by the airport or on this end of the island.

Lihue is a small working town that serves the tourist industry and the local population. They have rush-hour traffic problems., which I experienced, and the traffic problems on the island are growing.
That said, the locals are friendly, they want us to visit, and I felt safe wherever I went. Plenty of amenities.

Close in shopping at similar prices to what we pay at home.
Close in shopping at similar prices to what we pay at home. This was a private unit so you need to buy your own toilet paper if you run out (front desk won’t give you any). Safeway is close with a Starbucks, food trucks abound (do try them), Kona’s fish and chips are sooooo good! Don’t miss the museum down town. Waze directions app is amazing at getting you around. Costco is close, so is an Urgent Care. Don’t worry if you leave something home, you can easily buy it there.

the airport in lihue so it is easy to get to. most folks stay in kapa'a, which has many more food options. lihue has good coffee (it should. coffee is grown on the island) and a nice beach at the marriott hotel. it is a convenient place for exploring the island but is a town. it is not a resort location. good kuwai museum in lihue, tho. i recommend the museum. just don't stay at the tip top hotel. it is a dive,

This was our first time in Kaui and we only stayed 4 days, then flew to Oahu. We could have stayed longer in Kaui, there is so much to see and do. We really like to drive around the island and find places and things to do. Its definitely more of a day adventure island. It is beautiful. I had a hard time finding something affordable to stay at, and the Royal Sonesta in Lihue ended up being an affordable option, and turned out to be a great option. Although close to the airport, you dont feel like you are. We dont really hang out at the resort so it didnt matter to us where the hotel was however this ended up being a great spot as we were right in the middle and can getting to either side of the island did not take long

The "grand canyon" was beautiful. The flora was beautiful.
The "grand canyon" was beautiful. The flora was beautiful. Too many resorts spoiled the north island to be able to enjoy it. The island was flooded with people and cars which is not what I remember from a maui visit many years ago. I felt sad for the long time residents to have their way of life spoiled by so many of us visitors and condo owners.
We love, love, love this condo and the entire property. Awesome location right next to Kauai Beach resort, use of their 4 pools was included, though not necessary, as we had a lovely pool and spa right at the condo. Loved the privacy of our own condo, free parking, grounds were beautiful and very well cared for. Villas have 30 second to 4 minute walk to the villa beach, depending on which unit you are in. Condo itself is adorable, and the location was perfect for trips to Lihue (to stock up), and beaches north, east, south and west.
When we first walked into the hotel the front lobby was so beautiful and inviting. We then went to check in and were greeted with big smiles by the famous Saddie!!! What a beautiful soul! She explained to us the grounds and restaraunt and any question we had for her! Our room was more than perfect over looking the pool and ocean view! The chairs by the pool so very comfortable! I would stay here again. We had a car rental so you can drive into Lihui a short 5 min drive for all you need. The location is on mark. Close to airport!
The Banyan Harbor was a very well-priced and convenient location to spend the night after a late evening arrival at Lihue airport. It checked all my boxes, top among them adequate space for our family of 5 and free parking (although parking spots were not easy to find). The staff we met were very low-key but incredibly helpful, friendly, and patient. It's not glamorous, but it's comfortable and flexible. The kitchenette was handy, although we didn't make use of it, and nice touches included free ground coffee and wifi.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. When I checked out, it was a rainy day, the owner told me that I could park right infront of the office building and he helped me to load my luggage. Really very nice and I appreciate it. Room was clean with a patio view and I loved watching roosters and cats coming back and forth. And free breakast and all day coffee and iced water are a big plus. Definitely could recommend to everyone visiting Kauai.
Tip Top is local. I have lived on Island, owned a condo in Kapa'a before, and if the Marriot is your flavor of tea then go for the cheesy and expensive digs. Here is the truth.. if your on Kauai on vacation how much time do you expect to stay in a room? Well kept up, no bugs at all. The restaurant is a landmark in Lihue. I wish we had the same here in my town!!!
We were not expecting breakfast to be provided, so we were thrilled to pick up the yummy coffee & breakfast bars on our way to the early morning SCUBA excursion we had planned.
LINDA, at the front desk IS THE BEST!! ALWAYS SMILING, ready to help and knowledgeable about the questions we had.
Our Uber ride cost only $13 from the airport to The Kauai Inn!!
Pool !!!! Absolutely insane, loads of sun loungers available and 5 jacuzzis! Open till 10pm which was so fun to swim at night. Great beach access and restaurants in walking distance. Room was amazing with lovely balcony and luxury bathroom. Tv had Netflix and shop in hotel had everything. Free airport shuttle with lovely staff. Amazing hotel all round.
Friendly and helpful staff and housekeeping crew.
Fantastic pools and restaurant options.
Evening musical entertainment.
Great location. Close enough to the airport. Centrally located, on the island of Kauai.
It's a bit secluded, enhancing vacation relaxation.
A rental car is needed if you plan to explore the island.
The cleaning staff were amazing We would like to congratulate the manager Leidel Dinio for her excellent skills of making us welcome and to her cleaning staff who really work hard. The office staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel cat “Mango” was a very lovely bonus to have around.
The location was good as it was easy to get to either side of Kauai and it was near the airport. We have teenagers so 2 bedrooms, 2 baths was a must. The kitchen was also a priority as we like to prepare some meals. The refrigerator was great to have and it had an icemaker.
super convenient location near the airport and great as a base for accessing all of Kauai. The office has limited hours but we checked in at 9pm after they had already closed. the instructions for finding our keys and our room were very clear
The hotel property is very well maintained. The pools and common areas are clean and well manicured. It is close to Lihue and the airport and right on the beach. As a resort, this ticks all the boxes.
The staff were noticeably friendlier than staff at other hotels in Kauai. The location is spot-on the beach with fantastic views of the surrounding hillsides.
Location near airport, good hot shower, pleasant young woman on duty who cheerfully provided us with some extra pillows to help sit up on the bed to watch TV.
