Napili IS NOT LAHAINA. It is actually closer to Kahana and Kapalua and everything is different than Lahaina, including the weather! It always has been, even before the devastation. It's about time the internet caught up with the tragedy of the devastating wildfires that destroyed Lahaina. You cannot even visit Lahaina anymore. It has been reduced to a barren landscape. Until there is true healing and recovery, that city should not be used as a place name for Kaanapali, Kahana, Kapalua and all of West Maui. Booking.com could certainly help by removing the word Lahaina from all of it's listings. When travelers are searching for accommodations in West Maui, there should be an acknowledgement/memorial note about the severity of the loss of lives and livelihood. We went specifically to support the only industry they have there, tourism. The surrounding communities seem to be flourishing, but there is still so much palpable pain. A woman broke down in sobs near us and shouted at a server that there should be NO SHORT TERM RENTALS allowed in the West Maui area. I feel like our short term rental was priced way too high and if tourism is the plan for recovery, something should be done about that. If pushing tourism out of the community so it can heal is the answer then, yes, cut off short term rentals. Either option is valid but trying to do both is not. I'm not giving recommendations for a place that no longer exists (questions below) and I don't have any pictures of Lahaina, because there is nothing left there. The devastation so complete, there is barely even ruins.

My stay in Lahaina was fantastic and enjoyable.
My stay in Lahaina was fantastic and enjoyable. There are just a fabulous array of activities available that one needs to be selective in prioritizing the ones that they would enjoy…here are a few that I enjoyed-visit to Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm in Kula. Their scones are fabulous as well as their aromatherapy range. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there
I then spent the rest of my time snorkeling, hiking, a ‘road to HANA’ trip is a must-do, swimming around the stunning beaches in kana’apaali, Wailea, Hana, ate at the local farmer’s market, serving wholesome unadulterated, non-gmo fruits & vegetables, gulped down lots of shaved ice, relished lots of poke bowls & sushi. Such an amazing trip indeed!

Our trip was an 80th birthday celebration with a total of 14 family members. We enjoyed a Luau in Lahaina, and had photos taken on the beach by a professional photographer. We also walked around the town, enjoyed shave ice and did some shopping. Had a nice dinner at Kimo's.
Did a snorkeling trip that was a lot of fun, and a sunset dinner cruise. Also drove to Haleakala and explored the up country a bit.
Lots to do in the Lahaina region!

I paid for a double room, 2 beds and requested by email 3x for accessible room for my 2 daughters in wheelchairs, when we arrived I was told I did not have a reservation, and after 2 hours, could get a room on the 11th floor for an additional $225 a night. The room extremely small, and my daughter the amputee was not able to get from the kitchen to the bathroom, it was so narrow. I did go to the front desk and complain, the next night they did move us to the Garden Bungalows with a King size bed (for 3 persons), we called for a roll-a-way bed, one came my daughter was almost sleeping on the floor the bed was so bad (she was sick from a bad ache, due to the bad bed), on the 3rd night they did replace the roll-a-way with a proper one. Our room was never cleaned, or new linen, or trash emptied. The room was not very clean, they were ants or termites in the corner of the room and the floor was not clean. We had to go to get our own towels, linen an make our own beds.

The grounds are gorgeous, spacious, even games to play on the grounds like shuffleboard, small golf course just for practice! Pool & the hot tub were enjoyed. I find it interesting how the seawall works so effectively and you can sit just staring at the ocean. My unit was large with a complete loft which because I was at a conference all day spent very little time in the room. That particular unit needs to refurbish some of their furniture for example a swivel chair was broken. It was exceptionally clean and I appreciated that. The view from the fourth floor was fantastic.

I’m glad I went with this hotel the location, price, and beach was perfect. It was such a beautiful experience and the gardens were amazing. There is a great restaurant and lots of beach exploring along the coastline trail.
This is a great hotel, wrap around balcony which we loved. Overlooks the main street in Lahaina, and the wharf/docks, plus there is a beautiful park next door, with a gigantic Banyan tree. We enjoyed sitting under this enormous beautiful tree, eating ice cream and watching kids play. Location is beyond fantastic, many many bars, restaurants, shops , tour boats within easy walking distance. Balcony soooo nice, we saw some whales out in the bay , several mornings. There is a nice beautiful courtyard with a bar.
Has all the bases covered at a reasonable price right on the ( the best stretch) Kaanapali beach. Close to Whalers Village (15-20 min beach side path walk to higher end shopping and eateries right on Kaanapali beach) and Lahaina (a drive). If looking for the W type of luxury, this is not it, more traditional, it’s definitely 4+ for what they offer, the great staff, their continued renovations, and location location location.
We were at this resort during the Maui Wildfire and the staff was absolutely amazing with the guests. They handled everything and everyone as best as they could with the little information and power/electricity they had. The main hotel ran on a backup generator and they were able to still provide food to guests and power in the lobby to charge your phones. I would highly recommend to anyone to stay here.
The location was excellent - it was near the harbor where many trips originate and so convenient to stores n eating places and to the Maui bus stop. Both Mark n Samantha at the front desk were very helpful , friendly n professional. They made it so seamless for me , traveling solo, to enjoy my stay at The Pioneer Inn and overall in Lahaina. I will definitely book my next stay with The Pioneer Inn.
everything, lovely and clean, bedding smells so nice, staff are gorgeous, good music playing in the background until 10pm a really chilled atmosphere here, loved having an outside shower each morning and looking up at the sky, if your in the tents you can hear the ocean waves it’s amazing to sleep and wake up too. I’ve absolutely loved it here, it’s also right on the beach!!
Some rooms are right on the beach and are exceptional for ocean views from your room. Rooms that are not right on the beach have access to the same grassy area that the beach view rooms are behind. The location is perfect for exploring west Maui, both north and south of Napili Bay. Great whale viewing from our room!
Location was great, you step outside your room and you can see the water. We spent quite a few nights here just chilling watching the sunset. Parking is available out front which is very convenient. We would highly highly recommend and would come back here if in Maui.
This historic-feeling hotel was absolutely adorable! Only a few rooms at this place. The room was incredibly clean, obviously very recently and tastefully updated, and had a perfect location if you were looking to be directly in Lahaina. Staff was incredibly pleasant.
Ocean front, exceptional location with beautiful sunsets. Doesn’t get better. Nice ocean swimming area for little ones.
Overall great value and close to downtown Lahaina. Fish Market right across the street a plus.
The beachfront restaurant is very good with the most accommodating staff at the facility. The beach fronting the property is also very nice. The location makes it easy to go to either downtown Lahaina and Kaanapali.
Good hotel around Papakea, easily reachable by car. Very nice and kind staff, particularly the local Hawaian concierge who was incredibly helpful to help us find the best activities during our time on the island.
The owner and her daughter were exceptional hosts! Very helpful with answering our questions on the area and giving us suggestions to make our visit the best it could be. Highly recommend!
Lovely spot on he beach … we stayed there as our last night on Maui before our 11 days on Maui ended. Was a great spot near Lahaina..and lovely Hawaiian feel to it. Amenities all great too.
We loved the privacy around the resort within the community. Easy access to walk out on the beach. Very secure. The pool and hot tub was very clean and maintained. The rooms were superb.
The property is beautiful, very well equipped and nicely decorated. Stunning view!
Good location, you’re literally on the beach and close to the shopping area and restaurants.
