Friendly staff, very good breakfast, average dinner. The rooms are very spacious. There are two separate pool complexes - one with sea water and the other with thermal salt water. FAQs about hotels in Portorož

Slovenia’s Adriatic Spa Resort

Portorož is the most popular beach resort on Slovenia’s small but undulating coastline. It was first developed as a health resort and several spas remain. The largest is the Terme & Wellness LifeClass Portorož, offering treatments using local products such as salt pan mud, seawater and thermal mineral water.

The huge complex is surrounded by some of the 4 and 5-star hotels available on Booking.com. Nearby is the Hotel Kempinski Palace, a historic property built in 1910 as a retreat for Austro-Hungarian officials. Other Portorož accommodation options include guest houses with pools and beachfront apartments.

The beaches are of course why most people come. The main, sandy beach is awash with colourful parasols in summer, while offshore watersports include diving and water skiing. Boat trips from the marina sail along the coast and even to Venice and Trieste in Italy.

As the temperature cools down, the nightlife heats up as people start hitting the bars and clubs. Several casinos also provide another way to spend some time…and money, and there are also relaxed restaurants where you can enjoy the sunset.

Portorož Airport is just south of the city and in the opposite direction is Piran whose Venetian old town spread over a promontory provides a more cultural offering.

Very nice swimming pools with sea and termal water. Our food was delicious, especially sea food. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms we stayed in were very neat and tidy. Although there were not enough parking spaces, the staff tried very hard to provide us with payable parking.

Piran and Portoroz - two very nice places are actually connected to each other... restaurant, walking paths, cyklo paths...everything nice and clean. A very bad experience, from everything that can be said about a hotel that does not respect itself. We booked a Mosim room, paid in advance and received "another product", Although there was a lack of reference, and the answer was "Sorry. Although you did not receive the room you paid for and booked a month ago, The hotel is full and you are welcome to stay in the room even though it is bad and not suitable for the reservation. Unprofessionalism, indifference and disdain even though they realized they were wrong, And they didn't try to solve the problem they had. We paid full price, and we did not receive the product (a room that did not match our wishes and conditions) and we did not even receive a refund for the difference between the room we ordered and the room we received.

A beautiful resort- we went in September. An unknown gem to British tourists. I imagine too crowded in main summer months. The area is stunning- short bus ride to Piran- which is beautiful and interesting. Swimming in the Adriatic is wonderful.

beautiful and vibrant riviera with a charming atmosphere.

beautiful and vibrant riviera with a charming atmosphere. Lots of shops and great restaurants. Unfortunately, though, you have to pay for parking (1,5 EUR per hour until 22:00), for this I highly recommend the EasyPark app, which made this duty much easier for me. As for the beaches, here I was slightly disappointed. There are only city beaches which are not great, or stone beaches under big cliffs. All in all, you have to search and drive around. We ended up going to Fiesa Beach near Piran, which was relatively pleasant to sit on and the snorkeling was not boring. For example, I even saw a squid here, which I hadn't seen before in Bali.

This is a tourist hotel located close to the historical town Piran (walking distance) and the long promenade stretching between Piran and Portoroz is perfect for walks, runs, cycle... Since it is a touristic hotel expect large crowds at breakfast and fast disappearing food. Staff try to make this work, somehow. Selection for breakfast is ok, but if you compare to top hotels, somewhat restrictive. You can also have half-board, but then you are stuck with German pensionaries mainly - this seems to be the hotel for a particular age group.

Biggest asset, if I may say that way, are the people. Polite, nice, professional, top ... staff is exceeding all other aspects of the Hotel ... which btw is on excellent location and old but properly built. Rooms are big as all other areas of the hotel ... restaurant, lobby, Banquets, Spa, etc. Typical set up of the Hotels built to be "grand" at the time. Old fashion hotel that meets expectations of the people who seek more relaxed, quiet and comfortable holidays. Surely it's great for the Banquet events, seminars, etc.

Great stay, location close to the beach and Portoroz. Very clean and comfortable place with good facilities for sunbathing and spending time outside on a patio or balcony with a great view of the sea from the property. Damijan is a great guy, very friendly and helpful. He gave me a cold beer when I arrived which was much appreciated after the long drive there in hot weather. I highly recommend this place, and will definitely be back next time I'm in Slovenia.

Very nice and modern flat, with hotel like equipment (premium shower gels, slippers, jam and Nutella portions), very helpful and friendly hosts (provided not only free map but also rechargeable card for bus commuting and offered their small pool to use for our child). Own garden with deck chair and small toys for children. Nearest beach is within 20 minutes’ walk, but local bus stops within 5 minutes and this can take you to Portoroz centre or to Piran.

This is a five star hotel. We have travelled a lot around the world and have experienced many beautiful hotel, this one is on top of our list. For us already third time at this marvelous hotel, situated at the beachfront of Portoroz and in the middle of the cosy boulevard. Breakfast is excellent, various choices, if you still feel hungry or not satisfied after breakfast its your own fault.

The location is great, the view from the balcony is amazing (at least from the fifth floor). Pool is also fine- enough sunbeds and clean water. Room looks like luxury room from the 70s, which was kind of cute. For sure it's very well cleaned. Overall, it was a pleasant stay but it's not a 5 star hotel
