Our decision to disembark at Oia Santorini was extempore at the end of our 7 day Greek Island cruise. It was mid March and just perfect in terms of weather and crowd. I went out for morning walks and I had the entire strip for myself. The weather was in 60s and 70s. No rain except for the last day. It was interesting to see the whole town getting ready for Spring and Summer. They were white washing walls and getting their commercial spaces ready.
Very few places have impressed me with the esthetic beauty like this. The nature and the man-made structures compete for the attention and they co-exist. The beauty is stunning and it takes 48 hours to stop taking photographs everywhere you go.
We stayed in Oia for six days. It was a long 3 days weekend and for Ash Monday. Only on one of these 6 days, we saw some crowds at the Sunset point and it wasn't pleasant. Many restaurants were open. Restaurants on the main strip are expensive for eating out every day. You can explore the off beaten paths to find hidden gems that that charge you non-tourist rates.. You can also shop at the local grocery store and eat selectively at restaurants.
If you don't like crowds and waiting in the lines, I highly recommend visiting in March and November. I heard stories from locals that the Summer has been very crowded in the past few years. The cruise ships have made the matters worse.
Here are some recommendations.
Restaurants: Candouni - Must try for dining,
Cafe popular with locals. Piatsa Souvlaki. Excellent food.
Skiza cafe.- Pizza, Sandwiches, Ice cream.
Morning coffee and snacks. : Passaris bakery

Because we went slightly off season, the beginning of October, we enjoyed less tourists. I cannot imagine July/August heat and crowds. We did a sunset catamaran cruise, really recommend that, for a once in a lifetime day trip. Lots of great restaurants around and lots of scams so be careful. Cabs are expensive, so ask up front. Buses take forever and minibuses drop you off any old where......If you book a lovely hotel with transportation included you'll be fine. Ammoudi beach is a great sunset spot with yummy food......

Doesn't have much but the sunset is amazing.
Doesn't have much but the sunset is amazing. Not because we were in the off season it just that the place is simple. Not much to do. Maybe sunset cruise, island tour but that's it. The selling point of this location is the sunset

Best sunset, best market, best restaurants and such a beautiful pathways to walk on. Amoudi bay is great location with number of great restaurants for the sea food. Very crowded in the evening due to sunset experience. Spot the sunset location and reach in advance to grab a place normally on the castle or any cliff side walk-ways. Pito-gyro is best for the gyros and Lolita ice-creams are must try. Karma restaurant for vegan and healthy choices with great ambience.

Oia, was Awesome!!
Oia, was Awesome!! Despina from Onar Villas greeted us on our arrival. I traveled with my daughter, and Despina was excellent!!! She helped us with everything. She informed us where and what to see and saved us money. Despina was very knowledgeable of Oia. She gave us many recommendations of where to go and what to see. We loved her. She was like a very caring mother to us, making sure we were happy and that we enjoyed our stay while we were here on her property. Her staff was incredible. Despina and her staff were fantastic!!! Our Onar villa, Dafne, was very charming. I didn't know what to expect. We had views of the calderas. Incredible, amazing views! The breakfast was great. We called, and it was there within the time promised. We had breakfast on our balcony every morning to enjoy our breathtaking views of the calderas. I would come here again. This was one of my favorite vacations!

Oia is an absolutely beautiful part of Santorini.
Oia is an absolutely beautiful part of Santorini. It offers the best sunsets and a variety of luxury restaurants as well as cheaper options. Oia is also a great place to shop every other store was a jewelry store and I couldn't help myself. We took a sunset cruise and it wasn't too far from the dock so that was very convenient as well. We would definitely suggest staying here if you are looking for a nice romantic stay.
The room exceeded my expectations - was much nicer than the photos on booking.com. Santorini is normally quite pricey so I think I got a good deal with this one! Location wise, it's situated close enough to Oia that you need only walk about 10 minutes to get right in the centre. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the manager of the hotel was extremely helpful. She sat down with me when I checked in to show me the map of Santorini and to tell me where to go and at what times of the day. Was very hospitable.
I had the most marvellous stay i this Hotel. The manager, Thiago generously offered to pick me up from the airport, and upgraded my room to the most luxorius room available with a gorgeous view of the sea and a private pool, and a wine bottle. The breakfast was excellent, and the location is at the footsteps of Oia. I would highly recommend your next stay in santorini in this Hotel for the most incredible expereince of the island. Thank you to the staff and Thiago. I shall be returning soon!
Loved the location, close to everything. Minutes walk to see the perfect sunset. The staff were pleasant. Met the owner and she told us stories about Santorini and her business. She had just picked some figs and they were delicious. Love that the hotel and the restaurant was a family business. The breakfast that’s included was a buffet next to our apartment. Sat at the pool one afternoon, so relaxing to be away from the crowds. Loved Oia. Only time it was crowded with tourists was at sunset.
10 out of 10! We experienced 3 accommodations in Santorini and Blessed Blue was by far the best. The location is perfect, super quiet yet few steps away from Oia’s main street. The cave was spotless, cozy, great view and had everything: wine, fruits, coffee, water…
Finally, Lazarus was probably one of the best hosts we’ve had in all our travels. He basically would send us a quick message everyday to check if we needed anything and on the day of our checkout he offered a small goodbye gift 🤗
Maria's place was the best hotel we stayed in during our 2 weeks trip in the Cyclades.
Anna is amazing! Super helpful with giving all the tips regarding your stay and makes you feel like you are at home.
The location was just perfect - not exactly in Oia's center which was a perfect idea in order to avoid crowds.
Nice view from the swimming pool.
Ahhh and the breakfast was soooo complete and yummy!
If we ever go back to Santorini, we will definenetly stay at Maria's place again!
Sergio is running a wonderful family hotel. Ideally located close to Oia, it's at a maximum of 30 min drive from any point in the island. The room was wonderful, hotel very quiet. Breakfast with the constant view on the sea and nice surroundings. Swimming pool extremely relaxing. In short I strongly recommend it !
PS : mandatory to have a vehicle on Santorini to enjoy everything. Easy to request Sergio and to arrange different departure/arrival point like port + airport.
The suite was amazing! The room was minimal, built in natural cave, the bed was comfortable.
The best thing about it was the view and the pool, it is overlooking both the town of Oia and the sea, and is absolutely private, with no other hotel paths going around it.
The staff were also amazing, they even arranged a floating breakfast for us, the service was absolutely impeccable.
We would definitely return here when we go back to Santorini!
The hotel room was clean and very stylish. The pool was absolutely beautiful and the grounds were well maintained. The breakfast, which was included, was delicious and freshly made to order. We also had dinner one night at the onsite restaurant and everything was so delicious. Their baklava and ice cream was the best I had on Santorini! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again if I were to visit Oia.
The best location in Santorini to watch the sunset. The staff went above and beyond. From picking us up
From airport and transferring to the hotel, booking our ferries and helping with reservations to restaurants etc.. The owner Dimitri is so professional, friendly and welcoming. We had an incredible time in Santorini and it a lot to do with the outstanding treatment we received from Dimitri. Speaks perfect English which was very helpful.
The hotel was one of the highlights of my trip to Santorini. The room was beautiful and the food was amazing. The location is very close to Oia and we were able to get around conveniently enough on the bus. The best part of my stay was definitely the wonderful hospitality service, all the staff were super friendly and always there to help with anything, making a huge difference to our experience. I’d definitely return!
Great location - a 10 minute walk to Oia but not close enough that you feel swamped with people (Oia is very busy)
Staff are so helpful and laid back - great atmosphere
Rooms are huge and the bed is very comfortable
Bathroom and shower is amazing. Best room we stayed in during our holiday in Greece.
Breakfast is very tasty
Private pools are very relaxing
Value for money comparable to other hotels in Santorini
thank you for amazing Santorini vacation! we stayed in first dates of May, and enjoyed every moment!
first of all, its so quiet and peacefully not like the fancy expensive hotels in a center of Oia, its placed in perfect location at the entering of the city, great weave to see , fields. it such clear that it looks like they are vacuuming the roads of the pension! the rooms are clean perfectly too.
Santorini in general is not a value for money destination. Agnadi Villas is an exception. We had a lovely room with a fabulous terrace and view for aperitif, convenient location just outside OiA so not in the middle of Tourist crowd. The bus stops in front of the hotel and a walking path into Oia or up towards Fira starts in front of the hotel as well. And the nearby Finikia Restaurant is blissful!
The location and privacy of the hotel is were perfect. Very close proximity to Oia but you don’t have the onlookers like you would in Oia. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful especially Hara. Loved having our breakfast brought to our terrace every morning. We had the best time staying here and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Santorini.
The staff of this hotel are OUTSTANDING! They go above and beyond to make it a memorable stay. You cannot help but notice how sincere and accommodating they are. Absolutely LOVELY people who just want you to have a stress free time in breathtaking Santorini! I will remember them fondly!
The most beautiful and best hotel in Santorini, we thanks our friend George from the bottoms of our hearts for his hospitality. He was very helpful and fulfilled all our needs, especially our anniversary arrangement, we promise him to be back again.
possibly my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in - the location was perfect to walk anywhere and everywhere. very clean and having the driver was a huge plus. would recommend this place to anyone I know visiting Santorini.
