Smith falls was great.... middle town to launch trips to Perth/ Almonte/ Merrickville and Brockville. Many great restaurants and a haven of great chip stands...staples as well (Tim horton / Harvey/ Swiss Chalet ) local Walmart and Giant tiger. Pretty town with old history and the river locks are very interesting - workers there are happy to give you the workings of the locks. Enjoy

We requested to book out at 1:00 pm so that we could change after the funeral. Initially we were told yes but the next day the decided we needed to pay for an extra day since we were late departing even though we had confirmed prior to taking the room the we could have a delayed departure.

We were visiting family rather than sightseeing. We certainly enjoyed the fact that the hotel has been completely refurbished. We love it when historic buildings are brought back to life. It was done very well with quality finishes

Smiths Falls has done an amazing job of improving and enhancing its public areas, roadways and downtown core in recent years. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the town, the numerous parks and museums, and the great little shops downtown.

A typical small town in Ontario.
A typical small town in Ontario. Homage is paid to cars as the town still has the slanted parking spots on the town streets, so customers can get in quick and escape fast. I enjoyed a few restaurants in the town. There is highway chain fast food close by. In my meandering O I saw 3 laundromats and 4 thrift stores one bookstore. The rideau canal is the focal point. There is an information office to guide you.
The location from a good view standpoint was good. However, it seems to be in a rundown part of town. Inside the rooms it was clean and comfortable. But the hotel is dated and smelly and people have smoked in the rooms. We had to leave early on motorcycles due to inclement weather and we were only changed for days stayed.
Location was good, as expected. Enjoyable bistro/bakery in the building was a bonus. Close to downtown stores and walking tour as hoped. Parking area is fine, close to building. Historic building facade is nicely preserved. Televion with multi-channel and full streaming access was welcome in the evenings.
It was better than expected for the value. Rooms could desperately be upgraded and the hotel has great potential, room was cold upon arrival but the staff was helpful in providing an extra space heater for the -25 weather conditions. Staff should turn on heat prior to guests arriving.
The hotel was clean, reception was friendly and most important the room was nice and quiet and we were there on a Saturday night. So Bonus. The has enough options to get you going for the day and location is close to all local destinations.
It's not anything special, but it was the best bang for your buck. It's a great place to stay if you're on a budget. The room was nice and clean. There was nothing to complain about. Just don't expect a top-of-the-line hotel experience.
Check-in was very quick and pleasant even though the front staff was busy. The room was very clean throughout. The beds were quite comfortable and we had a great sleep. The hotel was also very close to stores like Walmart and Starbucks.
Beautiful place, in the center of Smiths Falls, very comfortable, brand new, clean, reasonable prices.
There is also a delicious bakery in the same building, if you want to get a coffee/croissant in the morning.
I left a piece of luggage in my room. I contacted the Motel and they went out of their way to mail the item to my home.
They provided maid service which is the exception to the rule for some motels.
You did an excellent job transforming this property into a top notch place to stay in Smiths Falls. This property was very run down for years . The suites are beautiful and well equipped.
Absolutely beautiful, cozy hotel. Full of European charm. I love that it's been renovated top to bottom but still has vintage chic. All furniture is new. Nice hotel with unic features.
No complaints. Hotel was very quiet. Bed was very comfortable. Room and bathroom were very clean. Girl that checked us in was very friendly. Would stay there again.
Well appointed - full kitchen and dining area, all amenities. The location is great with lots of restaurants around- we recommend the LockMasters Taphouse!
