Skiing was great and hotel had very thing we needed as a family. Pool was good and we enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. Restaurant service was good and food was fine, but nothing special. A bit pricey for what we got.

I needed a break from university studying and unfortunately heavily rely on coffee I asked for coffee packets for the room on the Friday and nothing showed up. 5:30-6:50 -am no one is at desk for my wake up coffee and it made for a disappointing morning routine.

If you want to disconnect for the weekend, this would be the place. I'm a fan of nature, so I enjoyed the outdoor paths and the nightly fires. We did some hiking nearby. Also, there was a beach and other activities at the hotel, but we didn't use them as we were happy just wandering around the area. When I stayed here, there was a wedding, but you would have never guessed so as the hotel was quiet.

The main hotel was beautiful, clean and offered a nice view of the pond and ski hill. We stayed in August during COVID and there was still plenty to do with many outdoor activities included (Small resort fee). It is a good getaway with kids who need a break from screen time and pandemic stress. Lake is beautiful and refreshing on hot days. Staff are really friendly. There is a need for some general upkeep from a landscaping perspective, but that could be on acct of a late start to the summer season. Bring entertainment as there are limited tv channels to wind down from the day.

    COVID-19 has challenged all travel.

COVID-19 has challenged all travel. The restrictions imposed on socializing meant that many dining facilities were not available. Also, the cottage crowd gets busy on the weekends, so it was very difficult to find breakfast or even a coffee Mon-Wed. The lake is beautiful but weeds and clams spoiled our enjoyment at the small public beach in town. The people managing the general stores, gas stations and other services are kind, helpful and friendly. Touring the surrounding area was fantastic. Traveling the historic Opeongo Road was very picturesque. A stop at the old Polish settlement of Wilno was our best meal of the trip.

    Very nice area and lake.

Very nice area and lake. The Race Track was our point of interest. There was a very nice Resort called Calabogie Peaks Resort which I wish we had stayed at. The food was great, the staff was friendly and we were not even guests there. The manager Jim was very nice. That will be where we stay next time we are at the Track.

Staying at the Highlands Resort was exactly as expected; it's a 3* hotel that's reasonably priced and, in our case, we had a large one bedroom villa. Is it a little dated - yes; was the bed one of the firmest I've ever slept on - yes; but for the price it was an great value and all staff encountered were very friendly. It was the perfect location for us to stay as I was participating in a track event at the Calabogie Motorsports Park, which is a short 5 minute drive away.

Beautiful spot overlooking the lake. Camp fire set up and ready for use. Quaint and perfect suite. Can’t say enough about Doris and Ed! We felt very well taken care of, and at the same time had our privacy! The Location was very central, close to everything! The accommodations included a coffee station, mini fridge and microwave which was a bonus. We even got treated to some freshly baked croissants! Would highly recommend!

The portion of the property you stay in reminds me of a granny suite. It is setup as a comfortable, well appointed hotel room. It’s close to the ski hill, race track, and very close to the lake. The family who owns it is very friendly with two very polite little boys. The thing that topped it off was the sunrise in the morning and the beautiful outside sitting area that would be amazing in the summer.

Fast check-in, welcome staff, spacious and clean room, comfy beds. There was some small issues with room supplies, staff helped to solve the problem right away. We went over Thanksgiving long weekend, the chairlift is add-on bonus for us to see the fabulous fall colors around the hotel.

Staff was wonderful! We arrived early and after spending the day outside in the heat, we were permitted to enjoy the pool before our room was ready. Hotel was quiet and we had a relaxing stay.
